In the neighborhood you will find plenty of pubs and souvenir shops, and the owners of the Bank House will tell you which are the best (and they really are). Bank House has beautifully furniture and decorated sitting and dining rooms. The bedrooms are very nice as well, and my bed was so incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was yummy, hearty Irish breakfast. But the best thing to mention was that, when we arrived there after hiking the whole day through the wettest day in years, the owners welcomed us and were so very helpful, taking care of drying our soaking wet hiking gear so we could walk on the Kerry Way the very next day as if we had never gotten wet. This was more than 100% Irish hospitality, and I can really recommend this place for a wonderful stay in the tourist town of Sneem.

When you enter you basically get straight into line (which winds through the gift shop if it is long) to order your food. It's like a cafeteria type counter where you can grab breads and drinks as you're moving your tray down the line. You order your entree from the worker behind the counter. There are dessert options at the end of the line by the cash register. You pay and then one of the workers carried our trays to the tables to sit. We were lucky to get sat next to the window which has an insane view of the bay/ocean. The cottage pie I had was very good! It tasted homemade and it was exactly the type of food I expected to have in Ireland. The side salad was fine but I could have done without it. The carrot cake slice was pretty good! Not the best I had in Ireland but it hit the spot as a sweet treat after the cottage pie. You leave your trays and dishes on the table and the workers come to collect it! The prices felt very fair and I would recommend this place for anyone traveling through on the Ring of Kerry!

The Irish Stew, I will say it again, is delicious. I also got a generous portion which helped a lot. In addition I got a scone which had plenty of raisins and was fresh, not dry at all. The pizza was also quite good and cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience all the more enjoyable. However, what truly made the evening unforgettable were the owner's stories - such good craic. His humor and anecdotes added an extra level of warmth to the already cozy atmosphere of the pub.
