I had tried out a few churches in the area before I found First Christian. I've stayed at First…read moreChristian because I feel a genuine connection to the church's leaders and their sermons. I had never been to a large church before visiting First Christian and I had wondered if I would feel out of place. Now I know that the size and style of a church doesn't matter nearly as much as the content of their sermons. First Christian has many effective teachers on staff. They teach from the bible, and they do it in a way that ties scripture to the challenges that many Christians are facing today. Ryan Rasmussen is the church's new pastor. I've heard a few of his sermons now and it's clear to me that he is a powerful leader who packs a lot of genuine excitement into his sermons. I would recommend this church to anyone in any demographic. I can especially see how non-Christians and young individuals would feel comfortable here. In case anyone is wondering, I hold no position at the church. I am simply a guy who has attended First Christian for 2 years now and has enjoyed the experience of growing closer to God.

We started here about a year ago and used to love it here. Since expanding, professionalism has…read moregone extremely downhill. There have been oftentimes classrooms are over ratio to state guidelines. When it comes to communication among teachers, it's not quite there. It has become common to hear "I don't know" when asking a question in regards to my child's day. There have been times I have seen teachers not paying attention to kids whether it's taking over the fence while kids are on the playground and their back is turned to them or being on their phone. There was a time I came to drop off diapers and all the teachers were just sitting in chairs. Not one single of the new teachers and assistant director ever bothered to introduce themselves and I can guarantee don't know my name as a parent. Incident reports no longer go home. My child got hit and had a bloody nose and no one bothered to call or send home an incident report but rather just updated in the app. After having a sit-down, the owner and assistant director were not very welcoming in bringing up concerns so not all concerns were brought up. It's very much a "can do no wrong attitude" even when my daughter came home with fingerprint marks on her leg that looked like it had been from holding too tight during diaper changes. Upon leaving, I could overhear them gossiping about me as a parent when they thought the door was shut. It's not the first time though that concerns got brushed under the rug. Sasha has been the only asset to this company and we have appreciated all that she has done. I have attached pictures of the fingerprints, the bite mark from when my daughter came home with (I had to tell them it looked like a bite mark for them to even look at the cameras because they weren't watching and didn't see it happen), a teacher on her phone, as well as the threats. *Since posting our review on google I have received quite the message about being sued for posting our experience which should indicate how well parental feedback is taken.

I was…read moreone of the kids who actually got their dream come true: it was my 5th grade year that the school burnt down. It seemed really awesome at the time: we got two weeks off in the middle of March. But of course, we had to make up for it later, and on top of that, the school was split up different places for the rest of the year while they reconstructed. The 3rd to 5th graders got stuck in a school called Little Flower. It was used mainly for preschoolers, and smelled like a giant diaper pail. They wouldn't let us use their cafeteria, so we had to eat our lunches outside. Doesn't sound terrible until you remember that in March in Ohio there will still be random blizzards. It's not fun to eat your lunch outside in half a foot of snow. We basically didn't learn anything for the rest of the year. When I transferred to Our Lady of the Elms in Akron, I was horribly behind. So behind they stuck me in remedial everything. But hey, it's okay: when I switched to public school my freshman year of high school I was put in advanced everything! Seriously though, even before the school burnt down it wasn't that good. I never learned the capitals. Also, nuns are terrifying, even if they're not trying to be. They also held me back a year (or rather, they wouldn't let me in kindergarten when I should have been) because they "ran out of slots." Uh, what? What hapepned to merit based decisions?
