This is THE WORST PLACE I've ever lived. Lori is extremely unprofessional in her communication and watching your every move. On 12/1 they shut off our water with NO NOTICE and no communication after the fact either. Make sure you don't breath too loud past 9:59pm or she will be outside you door accusing you be being drunk and letting us know she wouldn't renew our lease. I'm not joking this actually happened. This was our FIRST warning of being "too loud" and she decided to tack a post it note the next day on our door (real professional) saying this was our last and final warning or she would give us a 3 days notice. The pool guys would constantly park in my PAID parking spot and I would have to leave my car in the middle of the street while I go find them and tell them to leave. Our front door was also broken for over a month and we asked Lori multiple times to fix it. It was "fixed" but it made it worse. The gardeners would also use their leaf blowers and blow directly into our house with dirt, leaves, and sediment getting all over our floor and couch. We are not the only who have this problem btw. We also left a towel out on our patio to dry and Lori admitted to throwing it on the ground rather than emailing us to take it down. There's also no parking on the street. Not that it matters anyway since if you have 2 people in your tiny apartment past 10pm and Lori can hear them laugh you'll be crucified. I felt so uncomfortable in my last weeks here. There's a reason there's several vacancies Lori has been trying to fill for several months. The reason there are good reviews here is because Lori asks her tenants to write them (she's asked my husband to before and he said no). read more

What can I say? living in Westbay is like being surrounded with family. It's not just an apartment complex it's a little community. Need to barrow a cup of milk in the middle of cooking? Forgot your gym key? Help carrying groceries? Don't worry... The neighbors will help if you need it. Lori, the manager, has done well selecting tenants who are respectful, kind and caring. The apartments themselves are upgraded, spacious and extremely comfortable. The location is close to the beach, shopping, dinning and also close to the freeway. My husband and I are current residents and have lived at WestBay for almost 10 years! And there is a reason why we've loved calling this community our home for all of these years. Honestly, this community wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't for our landlord, Lori. She is the most caring and empathetic person I know. She really takes the time to know everyone through understanding and compassion while making sure we are taken care of. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your apartment or anything in or around complex grounds, she's quick to respond and take care of the matter. I truly appreciate her so much! The community at WestBay is very quiet and respectful, adhering to all policies and guidelines that come with signing the lease. So if you are looking for a nice and quiet place to live, I can definitely say that WestBay is your go-to for that! Complex grounds are always kept nice and tidy with gardeners coming once a week and trash pickup every day (except Sunday I believe). There are great amenities which include a gym, laundry room, two barbecue spots, as well as a pool and spa. WestBay has recently put a lot time into fixing the exterior (i.e. brand new roof tops!) as well as adding more lighting and security cameras in and around the complex. There's never been a moment where I didn't feel safe living here but the additional upgraded security measures just makes everything more awesome and shows me that WestBay truly cares for their residents and wants them to be well taken care of. Oh yes, and the complex is gated so an extra plus for that! I love the location - it's so close to the 55 freeway and within walking distance to grocery stores, fast foods, and up and coming new small businesses and boutiques! We're also a mile away from Hoag Hospital and Urgent Care which is wonderful as well as only 2 miles from Newport Beach. You can literally just walk there! It's a perfect location! I'm so happy to have found WestBay 10 years ago~! It's truly a rare gem of a place to live and I have no plans to move out anytime soon. This place has by far been one of the best apartments that I have lived at. Primarily because of Lori. She has helped us through a lot of stuff here and is always quick to respond or fix an issue. I love my apartment SO much! This is my first time living alone and Lori (leasing manager) helped me transition in so easily. Westbay is the perfect location from everything, literally. My apartment is renovated with high ceilings. I feel so safe and secure here, from the gated entrances to top notch security system in place... I have never felt scared or concerned once. I cannot rave enough about Lori, she has not only been such a help but also a friend. I have probably locked my self out 5x in the last year, and poor Lori never made be feel like a burden asking for help. We have a cute little laundry room that honestly is cheaper than going to the laundry mat...I love our little complex and community! Honest review from a young professional who just moved from here. I lived here for one year. Pros: 1. Very inexpensive and close to what you need. The price is hard to beat. 2. Lori (property manager) is quick to respond. Cons: 1. Construction is basically done now, but while living there the construction that was going on, on the property was incredibly inconvenient. Not to mention they would leave dangerous equipment out and about (especially on my balcony at times). I walked by saw blades and all kinds of equipment all the time. Sometimes the workers would park in your parking spot too. 2. Parking: horrible. You're assigned a parking spot. Due to construction - I couldn't even us my own parking spot at times. I would have to go to street parking, which center street is basically always packed. The street over is residential parking and if you park there you are likely to get a fine. Parking is INCREDIBLY inconvenient, especially for guests. 3. This place is not guest friendly. I've had guests laugh too loud and Lori told me to have better control over my guests. I kid you not my guest laughed loudly and I told them we had to be a little more quiet - then I walked them out and Lori was outside standing with her arms crossed and glaring at us. 4. Lori doesn't communicate professionally. She calls past 10pm. She confronts you unprofessionally when she's frustrated vs communicating via email professional and making professional requests via email. The apartment notices that we got were always taped to my door. One time I guess it fell off and I came home to an open door because they needed to do something to it - meanwhile I thought someone broke in at first because I never saw the notice!!! Ridiculous. Email tenants notices!!! 5. One laundry room for all complex 6. Pool looks like a motel 6 pool 7. Maintenance people blew leaves on the balcony all the time and didn't clean up well/leaves even came through my front door. Door was never fixed well. 8. I felt like I had to walk on eggshells 9. Property manager lives on site Honest review here. The reason this place has 4 stars is because Lori (property manager) has requested tenants directly to give good reviews. I really appreciate the value of this apartment. Gated apartment complex, has parking, clean shared washers/dryers (8 each, which is great & I never have to wait for one). There's a pool, jacuzzi, gym, communal BBQ that is maintained and cleaned by cleaners. In my one bedroom apartment I have a dishwasher, patio, and exterior access, always getting sun and fresh air into my apartment. Neighbors are respectful, it is quiet here, and maintenance does a great job of maintaining the apartment complex. I would say the best thing about Westbay Apartments is the property manager, Lori! She is on site and always available when you need her during office hours. She's is transparent and always sharing new information up front. She is kind, friendly, answers any questions you may have and overall a hard worker. Because of Lori, I choose to move into Westbay Apartment without any hesitation! Lori our on-site PROPERTY MANAGEMENT not the owner, not your roommate, not your parent, not your personal assistant or maid is and has been managing for the past twenty years with care, honesty, integrity, and has always provided communication and response to its residents needs and concerns that includes every single person that resides here. Lori has always been quick and efficient to respond to the most simplest fix to the most complex issues that are completely out of her hands and is always working her fastest and best to resolves each complex issues and is communicating with the individual or to the whole complex in the process until resolved. She has always and will make sure to get back to you ASAP, cause she does cares about her apt. complex and the residents. I know from my own experience and from many other resident's she will do in all her power to provide living area with support, guidance and solutions to any issues that comes across her desk, phone and door. As many previous reviews have mentioned, Westbay apartments would not be who they are without the queen of the castle, Lori. I have lived here for almost 5 years & I love Lori ( the property manager) like she's a second mom. She's very attentive & if you need something fixed in your apartment, she is on it. Recently there has been a lot of construction on the property which has been challenging , but if it wasn't for Lori I might have left. Besides the recent construction, the property is quiet, extremely well maintained, & overall it's been a nice place to live. But like I said before, without Lori, I probably wouldn't stay as my encounters with La Brie management have been less than satisfactory. Thank goodness for Lori. She really is the glue that holds this place together. She genuinely cares for her residents. Genuinely. Thanks for working so hard & answering our calls around the clock. NICE APARTMENTS; BUT BE WARNED...IT COMES WITH CHALLENGES I lived here for one year and was told to leave by the apartment manager after my lease expired although I has made all my rent payments on time and rarely got any complaints from the neighbors. During the final walk through I was told that my apartment was super clean and I wouldn't have much money taken out of my deposit. However when I received my deposit the management company had kept more than half and charged over $300 for "cleaning"... (I feel that they move people in just to kick them out. During my year there; there were people moving in/out almost every weekend!) Parking is the ABSOLUTE WORST EVER!!!! So basically you can never invite anyone over or they have to park 5 neighborhoods away. And if you make ANY noise; everyone can hear you and you will get a call from the manager because she lives on site. In addition, it seemed like at least ONCE a MONTH the complex had to shut off the water or you couldn't park inside because of construction or whatever, it was insanely inconvenient read more

I've lived here at WestBay Apartment since 2018 and wish this wasn't my first but various reviews, because it's been such a GREAT experience since day one meeting Lori our on-site property manager. It's rare and hard to find management that are honest, approachable, caring, quick to communicate/respond to its residents needs and concerns ,but also to those non-residents asking questions and looking around to find a place to call home. Lori has always been quick and efficient to respond to the most simplest fix to the complex issues a complex deals with in a quick and appropriate time frame, and I swear this lady is a hard worker and always has a solution for you, but if she doesn't at that moment she will make sure to get back to you ASAP, cause she is that awesome and cares about her apt. complex and the residents.... it's a safe, clean, loving community that shes created and continues to work hard to maintain for all those who live in it. Don't just take my word but come by ask the residents or just come by her office hours you'll find Lori with her door open welcoming you with a big smile and a chair to sit in and a coup of coffee or water for you to feel at home. read more

We are just about at the end of our lease and I would like to say that this has been a wonderful leasing experience for us. I give five stars simply because of Lori the Resident Manager. She is the most gracious, understanding and efficient manager I've ever worked with. She goes above and beyond every day to make sure her residents are happy and comfortable. She always keeps her property in tip top shape by removing trash from the grounds every morning and is always there to answer your call and responds to your requests in a timely manner. I could give four stars because of the busy street area and the loud neighbors across the street but of course that isn't in her or our property management company's control. Our fellow resident neighbors were always very respectful and quiet. Parking was abundant for residents, but no guests were allowed to park behind the gates. The property is very close to a bunch of entertainment and grocery stores so there is always a lot to do. We really enjoyed living here and if we ever move back to Orange County I would definitely live here again! read more

My home at Westbay Apartments (the best Westbay) has always been the safe place I call home and my manager Lori Gallegly is who has made it possible. Through all the changes in my life Lori has been there. Her efficiency brings stability to her tenants' lives, her caring adds depth to it. She keeps everything, and I mean everything, in working order and even wants more for our living conditions. She never interferes in our lives but is always aware of our needs. Lori's management aesthetics, to keep her tenants safe and cared for, is the model of professional integrity and character. She balances all of our needs even before we need it. These are some of the reasons why I choose to pay my Multi-Family 3-4 months at a time, and when life affords it, to pay my rent two months ahead of time. When given the option, I could not think of a better course to take because I consider this an investment in my quality of life. I live in a safe, clean, well-kept environment that Lori through her professional management style is able to equally balance the needs of us all. I have spent time talking with Lori about not just our home, but the community our home is in. She cares deeply about what is happens in our town and is always mindful when speaking on any topic. My wife and I have had the pleasure of calling Westbay home since we married in 2017. We started off in a single bedroom and eventually transferred to a two bedroom when our second child was born. The community stands out from the rest of the other communities on the same street due to its private, gated setting, on-site parking (personal carports and garages), and townhome style appearance. The units provide ample room, storage, and lots of natural light -which was a must for me. It is a good home for the single person or for the married couple with kids (I know, because I've lived here as both!). What sets Westbay apart from any other place I've rented is the Resident Manager, Lori, who lives on-site and is immediately responsive. She is welcoming and friendly and will make you feel at home before you even move in. Her relationship with every resident is personal -she makes time for everyone, her door is open for coffee and a friendly chat, and she will remember your name and hang your Christmas photo on her wall, or your toddler's finger painting if you're so kind to give her one! Her role in keeping the community clean, safe, and in tip top shape has immediately impacted my family's enjoyable experience living here. Of course, my review would seem partial if I didn't share at least a few of the things that don't make the living experience pure gravy. The units were originally constructed in the late 1980's; therefore, much of the original fixtures and building materials have naturally gone up in age. As such, Westbay has undertaken an effort to renovate every unit after a resident moves out/before a new resident moves in. This is great for the new resident, as it was for me when I moved into both units, but means there is frequent construction. Thankfully, this is mitigated entirely on weekends, but anyone who happens to be home during the week might hear the sounds of a nearby renovation. Parking is great for the residents living here, as you are assigned your own spaces, but becomes a great challenge when wanting to have guests over -the street parking is taken up by the residents of the other communities. This hasn't anything to do with the management, but it may influence your decision to live on this side of Costa Mesa. It wasn't enough to disuade me, as this problem perpetuates anywhere one is renting. Overall, I am very happy to live here. So happy that I convinced two separate friends into making this community their home as well. read more

I lived here for one year, and was very glad to leave. The apartments inside are actually pretty nice tho. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath for $1950. Everyone is SUPER quiet in this complex, to the point where at night if any of your neighbors have their windows open you can hear everything...and I do mean EVERYTHING! The neighbor across from me sneezed and i thought they were in my living room! If you are having a conversation past 10 pm the crazy old lady who lives across the way will literally scream, SHUT UP!! at the top of her lungs, and then proceed to call security on you and complain. Mind you talking in my living room using inside voices, no shouting or laughing excessively just normal conversation. On top of all that, parking is the ABSOLUTE WORST EVER!!!! The street parking is non existent because this neighborhood isn't the best and has 3 other apt buildings using the street full time. And sadly the complex decided to get rid of the 5 Visitor parking spots they had. Bad move. So basically anyone you invite over will have to walk over 3 blocks to find anything in a not so safe neighborhood where cops are constantly being called. In addition, it seemed like at least ONCE a MONTH the complex had to shut off the water or you couldnt park inside because of construction or whatever, it was insanely inconvenient and it happened way more often then ANY apt complex I've ever lived in. read more
