I wouldn't recommend this theater to my worst enemy. Then again, it may be a useful torture tactic. Let me start off by saying this theater is old, it's been restored bit by bit but it hasn't really improved.
The seats used to be worse but, the new ones are just as uncomfortable. Imagine sitting on a pizza box with a bit of cotton for cushion, sounds delightful, right?
The sound is a little quiet in the very back, nothing too bad in that department.
The screens used to be worse, the new ones are better but wont be long if the customers continue to vandalize it.
The floor is almost always sticky in what I hope is soda.
The bathrooms smell decrepit and are unappealing in every possible way. It's almost always dirty there. I never feel clean from the moment I enter, until the moment I leave.
I've never liked this theater. The town was supposed to get a new one (which would be great. The backer even dropped money on the project. Ended up scrapped.) But, instead I guess they needed another hotel!
Regardless, the main thing I want to focus on is the lack of care given to, not only the theater but, the customers as well.
They (the staff) aren't very accommodating. They are nice and work hard (it seems.) but they just don't seem to care about the place in general.
Hey, I wouldn't either if I worked in a shack like that.
There isn't anyone walking the isle and keeping things in check, like you'll find in finer establishments. *cough* Wildhorse Cinema *cough*
That can do spirit goes right into the unattended patronage as well. From 'greeters', 'chair-kickers', 'gabbers', downright to the most audacious display of no- shame or consideration whatsoever.
Grown men and women quoting movie tidbits right after they had been said. Exclaiming at every single thing going on, on screen. "Oooh, here it comes" "Whoa! He threw his motorcycle at the jeep! Awesome!"
Again.. Grown men and women.
What do you expect from a Void like Craig? Nothing but the bottom of the barrel. We walked out. You wont get a refund but you'll get free tickets back into the proverbial hell this theater is. Woo~
The town itself is pretty piss poor in the standards they live up to, that shows greatly during events such as this and other outings (which are rare at that.) I'm glad I'm moving. Couldn't come quicker.
If you're looking for the worst theater experience of your life, or are a hipster looking for a 50's style theater, complete with the smell of the 50's, look no further than West Theater.
Oh and if this becomes a 'not recommended review' I'll just delete it and keep posting it. This is a bad theater. read more
