I completed the survey and the manager got back to me immediately and offered free buffet coupons. NO THANKS! I would have been happier if he told me that he would inspect and make changes. Overall, the food quality there has gone done. Even though we arrived at the start of lunch (11:30AM), much of the food seemed as though it was cooked the day before. I'm sad because I used to love Golden Corral.

Two days prior to writing this review, a YouTube channel by the name of "Company Man" posted his…read morevideo essay called "The Rise and Fall (...and rise again) of Golden Corral." Which prompted two things in my brain: 1.) I haven't been to a Golden Corral in years (not since living in Texas, at least); and 2.) I should look to see where the closest one is to me. Lo and behold, turns out...my original assumptions of the nearest one most likely being somewhere in northern Mass were incorrect. There is, in fact, a newly renovated GC right in our midst - in good ol' Manch Vegas! And man, have they upgraded! It would seem there is a great deal of truth in that video essay by Company Man. Because it appears over the years, the management at GC have been hard at work upgrading the ever popular buffet restaurant. Not only are both the dining area and buffet room completely contemporary by 2025 standards; the payment system is updated as well. See, in the past, I usually had to endure the "joy" of making sure to have small bills on my person so that I could aptly tip the servers. But now...GC did something I *never* expected. In addition to facilitating contactless payment options, they allow you to charge an additional dollar amount of your choosing for the specific purpose of getting cash back to tip your server. This concept is awesome on so many levels that I can't believe more places that charge dining up front don't do this. I've often pointed out in past reviews that if cash tip only restaurants made it easier for customers to tip servers (be it via credit card or cash back), we'd be more willing and able to do it. So, why aren't more places doing it this way? Don't know! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Now, as you can see from the photos, the dining room and buffet area have been drastically updated. Or at least....since I last visited one years back. The aura is generally brighter as a whole and the tables don't seem as crammed together as before (I suspect, in part, due to the Covid years). Another thing I noticed almost immediately is how the buffet size seems slightly scaled down, whilst still offering a generously vast selection. But again, I'm comparing this to the one I used to visit frequently back in Texas so....take this with a grain of salt (no pun intended). And for those who were wondering, yes - the breakfast still slaps! I didn't notice an omelet station anywhere. Though, I honestly didn't look for one either. It's possible I could have missed it. Oh, GC evidently did away with their traditional trays, too. Just as well, considering they served no purpose in the first place. You still get your drinks immediately upon entry. But I mean, you could always just double fist it if you desire multiple beverages. Since I'm not a huge buffet person these days due to an aging metabolism, I can't say I'd come back here *too* often. But they still are the #1 place I'd visit as far as buffets are concerned. Still holding the top spot in their respective dining category, I'm giving Golden Corral in Manchester 5 generous plates of bacon and eggs out of 5.

I ordered the liver and onions with loaded mashed potatoes and a side salad, and everything was very good. The meal was flavorful, satisfying, and well-prepared. I also ordered the peanut butter chocolate cake, and that was delicious as well. The diner itself is small, but it has a nice, classic diner feel. The service was decent, friendly, and welcoming. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and had a good experience. I would recommend Red Arrow Diner to anyone looking for a solid, comforting meal while in Manchester.

More so me just letting future customers know to check their take out orders before they leave the Diner! The service was amazing but the food, and food packaging was NOT!!! I go there once a week for my usual (breakfast sandwich with hash browns). This was the first time ever that the sandwich wasn't wrapped in foil, resulting in the English muffin being extremely soggy. I picked the sandwich up and my fingers went right through the muffin. And the part that puzzles me the most is that the hash browns were cold! Not even like warm. I ordered, picked up, and opened the container at home in the same timely fashion I have for over a year now, yet have never ran into cold hash browns (in case anyone is questioning if it took me longer to pick the food up and start eating compared to past orders. So no, same time frame as the last 50+ orders.) The only thing I'm getting at with this review is to say check your order and its quality before you leave the store. I can still warm the hash browns up, but the breakfast sandwich is done for as the muffin almost, somehow, has a liquid consistency.
