    Home owner solution to grab bars not installed horizontally as requested in writing

    West Shore Experience Having been in the construction management industry for 50 years I have contracted with and managed projects upwards to $200 million dollars. Never have I seen such a sub par performance from a 'Top Rated' contractor. The list of poor performance started when I provided written direction to the technician on the placement of the safety grab bars and shower seat. The placement was critical to allow my wife to safely use the shower as she is a stroke patient and has mobility issues. Upon my return from an appointment I found the technician has not followed the written direction and installed the safety elements where he felt they should go. When asked why he didn't follow the written directions he muttered that he had lost the paper. When pressed why he didn't contact me he had another excuse. They left the bathroom, stairwell, front hall and first floor area below the bathroom for us to clean. They also hid the holes left in the wall opposite the shower diverter with holes that I have had to repair. West Shore offered to replace the shower and install the grab bars per instructions at their cost which we have declined as they are not welcome back into our home. They also offered a discount to the installation cost with the stipulation that we sign a NDA waiver which we have refused. We will pay they full contract price as we have beneficial use of the product. We installed suction cup grab bars (see photo) to allow safe use for my wife. Anyone considering using West Shore Homes for a bathroom tub/shower replacement should consider another installation contractor. My experience has confirmed that when a slick salesperson shows up in a fancy European car do not let them in the door. Kevin Lancaster

    I only wish that I had read the reviews on this company before giving them any business. Not only did they install the wrong door, they attempted to gaslight me stating that the door frame was manufactured with the extension panels to allow for storm door installation. The initial installers were very unprofessional arriving late and reeking of weed. After two months of complaints and , I finally got the door I originally ordered with an installation slightly better than the original, and I do mean slightly better. Now the door lock does not engage making it difficult unlock the front door and at times I have to enter my home through the garage. Contacted customer service and scheduled repair for today between 08:00 and 10:00 AM. It is now 12:30 and other than the original confirmation text, I have received no calls and am unable to reach the Baltimore office directly or though the corporate line. My suggestion, RUN as far as you can from this company as its product installation is as horrible as its customer service. If there was a negative star review to give Westshore Home certainly deserves it!

He gave pretty comparable pricing and told me I could get a shipment within 3 days. All cabinets would come built and I would just need someone to install it. CON: Well, when I decided to order my cabinets, Bud was on vacation and the other guy couldn't take my order. Then the cabinets took longer than a 3-day delivery because of the day I ended up ordering it on. The cabinets also arrived late on delivery day. Bud told me there was traffic. The guys end up telling me it was because they were short staff. I love honesty....no need to lie. So, my contractors ended up waiting around for 3 hours...not fair to them. PRO: Bud tried to make it up to me. A couple of pieces did not come in and I ended up needing an additional filler that he did not charge me for. I also ended up having to order another filler and that came in a timely manner and I picked it up from their showroom. Overall good experience, just need to tighten up ordering and delivery.

    Sadly we had a house fire and our entire house was lost. My wife and I spent months driving to…read moredifferent shops some upwards of fifty plus miles away looking for the perfect kitchen. Knowing that the kitchen is the center piece for all houses now, it was very important that we had the perfect one for us. We found that perfect kitchen at Carefree Kitchens. We set an appointment and decided the first seating with our sales person who helped us through the entire process. Then came and installed and the crew showed up the day written on the contract and we could not be happier with the results. I recommend 100% the work and care that they put into getting us through a most traumatic time.

After reading reviews on Yelp we decided to go to HB Marble & Granite. As other Yelpers noted, their showroom is not fancy which is fine by me because I don't really want to pay for a fancy schmancy showroom. Huseyin and his son (presumably) were very friendly and let me crawl around their remnants and slabs. When I visited HB Marble & Granite Huseyin was running the wet saw and stopped to help me. I liked that not only does he run his own business but he also has the knowledge to cut stone and willingness to get a little wet and dirty. Although I was hoping to possibly use a remnant for my project in the end I went with a new slab of quartz. The quartz got stuck in the port in New Jersey so my project ended up a little bit delayed but Huseyin was very apologetic and communicative on the issue. I know he was frustrated by the situation too but he did everything he could to get that slab to his shop. And when the slab did arrive, it immediately went on the table for cutting and my countertops were installed hours later! I really admire that Huseyin expedited my job as soon as he had the materials. I was very pleased with the installers. They were friendly and respective of my home. The workmanship was top notch. I've had granite and quartz installed on numerous occasions and I was really impressed with their work and how clean they kept the work area. Overall, my experience with this local, small business was great!
