As a new resident of this district, I am appalled at the lack of resources and availability this…read moredistrict has for school aged children. Childcare in this district is dependent upon the school the child attends, which means you are required as a parent to submit a request to transfer your child to another school in most cases further from home, just to be sure you can receive before and after school care. All elementary schools offer afterschool care, but lack the necessary support to facilitate more children, so instead the children are waitlisted until whenever. Unfortunately this is now causing me to miss work and I can't imagine how many more families are coming out of the pocket or missing work because of this issue as well. It is so unsettling to move to a new city/district and not have no definitive care for my child. This district so far has made me feel somewhat regretful. When going to the registration department for school transfers, because of the influx of requests, they can't assure you anything, and unfortunately have to crowd certain schools in order to accommodate the parents requests. Although I too need this request, I can very well see why this is an issue and why certain schools are more crowded than others. This is counterproductive to providing adequate resources for this community and works against the betterment of the child. This is not a small county and more can definitely be done within this school district, especially when houses are continuously being built as if families with school aged children are not the ones buying them. It's unfair to our children and creates an unnecessary hardship on the parents. Redistricting your county is not going to fix the problem if the resources are still not there. Partner with more childcare providers who have busses and can care for school aged kids, create RUSD facilities and jobs for before and after school care programs. RUSD needs to upgrade their level of management with this issue. It seems as if it is an already known issue so I hope this is taken seriously and made a priority for our children's care.

A couple of days went by, my son comes home telling us kids have been pushing him and taking his toys. My husband calls the teacher (Sweeny) to confirm. she mentioned she didn't see anything in that matter but that she will keep a closer eye on my son. We greatly appreciated it. A few days pass, we get a call from the teacher saying him and this little girl was playing. Hes a playful kid. Him and his cousin (Which is a girl play together all the time.) Again, we get a call from the principal (Dorsey) stating my son has been putting his hands on the little girl and he was switched to a different classroom. We asked if he was doing anything nasty or inappropriate. The principal stated that it wasn't inappropriate but the little girl felt uncomfortable. ok, that's fine. They said he apologized. When we called The school, we addressed The situation about my son getting bullied, they didn't do anything about it. But when my son does something innocently and is playing like a normal kid would, you switch my kid to a different class? I was offended on that. Why not switch the kids that pushed my son around? My son gets dropped off at school today and before I let him go, he says hello to the principal. All she did was waved and gave a sarcastic smile. I felt some type of way about that but I thought it was just me. My son walks on campus and we walk away. I couldn't help but notice how she was engaging with the other parents and students after they greeted her. I walked up to her and asked I can speak to her. Before I was even able to finish that phrase, she cut me off by saying to email her. Parents walk up to her asking her questions and she answered them no problem. I couldn't make a scene at the school so I walked away and went home. I'm not the type to pull a race card but my son is black and the principal is black. The whole school is practically the opposite. She is setting my son up for failure. We are switching schools ASAP.

Staff member Asunción Abrego Galeana, known as "Tia," has repeatedly singled out and targeted my daughter, issuing her dress code violations for skirts and shorts that were the same length--or in many cases, longer--than those worn by her peers, who were not penalized. This repeated and unjust scrutiny has left my daughter feeling insecure and confused, questioning what is supposedly "wrong" with her clothing when it clearly meets or exceeds the standards applied to others. This pattern of unfair treatment is deeply concerning and has cast a shadow over her entire experience at Notre Dame. It is disheartening that one individual's actions have created such a hostile and discouraging environment for students. Speak to any student, and you will hear the same story--this behavior is not isolated, and it is damaging to both the school's reputation and the well-being of its students.

I felt a sense of strong community within the staff and the family members who attended the event. The music teachers, Sarah Choi and Jeff Lin are two very sweet and special teachers. They both spoke highly of their students with a level of care. They also blew me away with their students' performances. The acoustic sound in the concert hall is amazing and really brought out the best of the orchestra and choir! While parents were seated, I came across principal Eric Hammond, whom I had not met before, and he was so welcoming. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism and care that the staff members exhibited. To top off the night, after the performances, the Rubidoux High School culinary students greeted all in attendance with catering-style food trays. Rubidoux High School truly is a gem with an amazing music and culinary program!

My issue with her is that she didn't like me,so since she didn't like me, she didn't like my kid. MCDONNELL would talk to everyone girl on the team, and when she would pass by my kid, she would ignore her. When she made the roster, she told my kid that there were only two spots open and one of them is for you, so when the time came to put her on the team, she didn't. Told her oh one of the girls from the soccer team made it instead, but you can be the team manager, and if anyone on the team got hurt, you can sub.. Well, that shit didn't work cause my child ONLY GOT TO PLAY THREE GAMES FOR THE WHOLE SEASON... I would always go to her practice and games.. One of her practices was that she had to leave early because we had a family emergency, MCDONNELL was not too happy about that she looked at my child up and down. I told my kid, "Let's go and MCDONNELL looked at me and rolled her eyes .. I said it nice and clear so MCDONNELL could hear me, I told my kid come let's go we can't stay we have a family emergency what is she going to do not play you, she does that already.. Well, the end of the season came. I was happy because we didn't have to deal with this lady anymore. To top it off, she didn't let us know when the banquet was, and when they team photos, she didn't even name my kid in the year AT ALL.. So yes, because of that dumb ass my child had a bad experience in softball.. So if your kid plays for her, you better be nice to that so-called softball player because she is not one..

The transfer was denied with no help from the administration one of our daughter's bullies was reported three months before an incident that just took place where that same bull knocked out a little girl and gave her a concussion. there are boys that send nude pictures and asked for nude pictures. Do not send your children to that school. This administration is completely incompetent and that is saying a lot coming from LAUSD

I was in the last class that was actually able to call it a junior high because the next year they condemned the main building and turned it into a middle school.... Didn't get a junior prom nor Junior high graduation.... The bureaucracy said that it would make us appreciate high School prom and graduations even more. And yeah I did graduate high school at Arlington high but I didn't get to go to the prom because nobody asked me. And you know what I never attended one of the high school reunions either!
