From beginning to end, I was genuinely impressed. My dog was experiencing significant pain and difficulty getting up and walking. I went online, could see the available arrival times for the evening, selected the next opening, and drove over. After about ten minutes in the parking lot, with clear communication from the staff by phone, we were welcomed into a spotless, quiet lobby and immediately escorted to a private examination room with seating for both my partner and me. We stayed with our dog the entire time. We never had to separate from him, and he was able to remain comfortable in one room throughout the visit. We waited approximately 20 minutes for the veterinarian, but never once felt forgotten. A veterinary team member took vitals, discussed his symptoms with us, and returned twice simply to check on us, explain where we were in the queue, and ask whether we needed anything. That kind of thoughtful communication makes an enormous difference when you're worried about your pet. The veterinarian was exceptional. He spent approximately 20 minutes with us, listening carefully to our concerns and then directing his full attention to our dog. He conducted an extraordinarily thorough examination, assessing his heart, checking him from both sides, observing him standing, and carefully palpating different areas to investigate the source of his discomfort. I've had dogs for years, and I honestly cannot recall a veterinarian being more attentive and thorough during an examination. Just as importantly, every person who handled our dog was remarkably gentle. They spoke to him with genuine affection, moved carefully, and treated his comfort as a priority. It wasn't performative friendliness. It was thoughtful, compassionate care. Afterward, the team explained his medications, treatment instructions, and pricing clearly and transparently. We checked out right in the examination room. They provided his medical records to me and offered to forward them to his regular veterinarian. His medications were ready within approximately ten minutes of finishing the examination, and we were on our way. The entire experience took less than 90 minutes. The difference from my earlier encounter with another urgent-care provider could not have been more striking. Where I had previously encountered uncertainty and dismissive communication, UrgentVet provided clarity, professionalism, transparency, and extraordinary kindness. I actually asked whether they provided routine veterinary care, because I would happily make this team our regular veterinary practice. (Unfortunately, they specialize in urgent care.) That is perhaps the strongest endorsement I can give: after one visit, I trusted this team enough to want them caring for my dogs regularly. This is what veterinary urgent care should look like.

He had…read morenever had any health problems before and all their staff and the vets who worked with him were so compassionate and made an effort to explain everything to me including possible causes, everything they needed to do to help him, aftercare instructions, options for managing the condition, and his prognosis. He had to stay overnight both times and the staff was very communicative with me, gave me regular updates, and answered all my questions. When he ended up needing surgery they readily recommended an outside clinic to help keep costs down. He is anxious and doesn't do well at the vet and everyone was very understanding when interacting with him. They saved his life twice and gave me great education on strategies for managing his anxiety. I wish it was an experience we did not have to have, but I have only good things to say about the clinic and am so grateful for the care and help they gave during that time. It was expensive but that is the nature of vet care. I recommend pet insurance to everyone!

On 06/10, I took my 11-year-old Great Pyrenees to another vet (beware of Utah Veterinary Hospital) because he was limping and had a swollen foot. I thought it might be something like a foxtail, but they barely looked at his foot and told me it was hip dysplasia and that his foot might just be swollen from laying on it. That I shouldn't worry about it. They told me to come back in about 10 days for X-rays and bloodwork and I scheduled a follow-up for 06/22. My dog just kept getting worse and by 06/17, he could barely walk. I called my other vet to see if they could get me in earlier and they said his pain was "to be expected". I decided to get a second opinion, and Country View was able to get me in within a couple hours. The difference was obvious right away. They actually took a good look at his foot and immediately said he likely had a fracture or an infected wound. They did X-rays with anesthesia, ran bloodwork, and found and treated an abscess in his foot. They cleaned and drained it, and sent us home with antibiotics and probiotics. They also took the time to show me the X-rays and explain what was going on with his hip dysplasia and what our treatment options are, which I really appreciated. On top of all that, it ended up costing less than what I had been quoted at the other vet for just X-rays under anesthesia and bloodwork. I'm really grateful for how quickly they acted and how thorough they were. It made a huge difference for my dog and just a day later he already seems so much better. I definitely recommend Country View Veterinary Hospital.

PLEASE READ BEFORE TAKING A FERAL CAT TO MEDVET SALT LAKE CITY…read more Today, my feral cat Peachy was denied the peaceful, humane goodbye she deserved because the staff at MedVet failed to follow my repeated instructions. Before arriving, I specifically called to confirm they had experience with feral cats and could sedate Peachy WHILE STILL INSIDE HER TRAP. They assured me they could. I explained to multiple staff members that Peachy was 100% feral, had NEVER been handled, and MUST be sedated before being removed from her trap. I repeated this countless times and begged them to be gentle. THEY DID NOT LISTEN. Because Peachy was weak and lethargic, the staff decided sedation wasn't necessary. They removed her from the trap, restrained her in a blue wrap, placed a cone around her neck, and inserted a catheter WHILE SHE WAS FULLY AWAKE. When they returned her to me, she panicked. What I didn't realize until approximately 15 minutes later was that the restraint had become tightly lodged INSIDE TO THE BACK OF HER MOUTH, forcing it wide open. It was wedged so tightly that even the veterinarian struggled to remove it. THIS IS HOW MY BABY SPENT HER FINAL MOMENTS ALIVE. The veterinarian and manager repeatedly apologized, acknowledged that the staff should have listened to me, and blamed miscommunication between staff members. Miscommunication is NOT an excuse when an innocent, voiceless animal's life is in your hands. I have spent years caring for feral cats. Being too weak to fight back does NOT mean an animal isn't terrified. I did everything possible to prevent this. I called ahead, explained her needs, and repeatedly advocated for her. All they had to do was LISTEN. I brought Peachy to MedVet to END her suffering, not add to it. I cannot recommend MedVet Salt Lake City for feral cat handling or euthanasia. I share this in hopes that no other animal or rescuer experiences what we did. My sweet Peachy deserved so much better. An apology cannot undo the fear and suffering she endured.

And although I'm familiar with kennel cough and it's not super serious, I did want to make sure our puppy Coal was seen ASAP. MedVet's hours definitely worked with our schedule. I was able to get him seen on the same day. Normally we would go to our regular vet but my work days have been extremely busy and I needed a later evening appointment. Both the Nurse and Vet were extremely caring with Coal. We did have to wait a bit because they were having an emergency but I expect that at an Urgent Care. I felt the care we received was very thorough and appropriate. Charges for the visit and mediations were in line with the care we received. They even sent the medical notes from our urgent care visit to our regular Vet. Hopefully we won't need urgent care too often. But I am very grateful MetVed is here and we will continue to use them in the future. Location is convenient as well.

They were able to get us in same day unlike other vets when we knew she had cancer. They also took us same day 3 weeks later when we said our goodbyes. The room was spacious. Although the carpet was really wet and we had to ask for an extra blanket to sit on so we could be with our dog during her last minutes. As I write this I'm tearing up inside remembering her last moments with our family. My husband paid to have her ashes boxed up and her paw print memorialized. It was done beautifully and personally hand delivered to our door by someone. That last touch of the hand delivery really made me appreciate this facility and while I hope not to have to use them again soon, I wouldn't hesitate.
