The…read moresmall shop is located in Gulf Breeze between Thai 54 and the Quality Inn right off the 3 mile bridge, and the knowledgeable, friendly staff will make scuba training, along with gear purchase, a fun and enjoyable experience. I purchased BBDC's summer rate scuba classes to obtain NAUI recreational diver certification, which was $170-ish per person with an additional requirement of purchasing $200 worth of product in their shop. Most dive charters don't supply fins, snorkel/mask, and booties and require people to have these products before renting scuba gear. So while the $300 per person class price tag at other operations initially seems like a better value, in the long run it's not. BBCD has a wide selection of quality and budget gear to select from. The first day of training was in the pool at the Club in Gulf Breeze. Our class size was eight plus two instructors (Bruce, and Carlos the owner). I cannot say enough about these instructors. I never had swimming lessons so was very inexperienced, and very nervous. Of course, breathing underwater is unlike normal respiration and I ended up having several panic attacks in the pool. Carlos and Bruce spent extra time with me and let me go at my own pace. I was never pushed or forced into doing something with which I was uncomfortable. Because of my slow pace, our class was in the pool from 11-5PM. While that seems long, it's important to takeaway that neither of them lost their patience with me and they never gave up on me. BBDC allowed us to complete our training dives several weeks apart. Day 2 dive was on 8/20/16 (Saturday) at Fort Pickens. The visibility was 5ft at best, but Bruce held my hand, navigating me on our 26 minute dive to a depth of 28 feet. It was very cool seeing all the tiny fish lurking underwater. Bruce found a puffer fish and gave him to me to hold in my hand. These are little things that instructors don't have to do, but Bruce did to make the experience more memorable and exciting. Day 3, 8/28/16 (Sunday), was cloudy, and while the visibility was better, the current was strong. Throughout two, 20+minute dives, Bruce made myself and 5 other people feel safe in the strong current. We found a flounder, which Bruce masterfully caught, and several live sand dollars (which are purple, not white when alive). At the end of the day, my husband and I became scuba certified and we are looking forward to pursing some of BBDC's more advanced classes and charter dives in the future. I highly recommend this place, whether it is buying gear of any kind, to getting FREE advice on where to dive, to having tanks re-filled, gear serviced (if bought from them), even to free kittens. Yes, sometimes they have kittens at their facility to give away to a good home for free. The owner Carlos reminded us on several occasions that he will attempt to match or beat any online price, so test out his offer before buying from an online supplier. They want your business and supporting local mom and pop businesses is better for the local economy than purchasing online. Besides, if you purchase items from them and something is wrong or it needs maintenance, you can bring it In for them to help. However, we found out we would be having unseasonably nice weather (even for Florida standards) during our time here so we wanted to do something fun. It was the day before Thanksgiving, and most of the SUP places had closed up for the season. Robert was the only one that returned my call. Personable and friendly from the jump, Robert said he could deliver SUP boards to us that morning, and he was coming from Pensacola. Robert asked what type of car we had, our height, and where we were looking to SUP. All of the questions so he could determine what accessories to bring to meet our needs. He offered to drop off the SUP boards anywhere we wanted to meet. But wanting to SUP at multiple areas, Robert hooked us up with a roof rack system so we could bring our boards anywhere we wanted. Robert showed up at our rental that morning with everything we could need to SUP; boards, paddles, life jackets, leashes, and a soft roof rack system. He showed us how to get the rack and boards on our car, and suggested places for us to not only SUP, but to visit for scenery/food. Robert gave us a map outlining historical areas of Pensacola, and must-not-be-missed restaurants, with suggestions of places to go, things to do. For pick-up, all we had to do was leave our boards outside and Robert came and picked them up. We had such a nice time on the boards, they were in great condition, and the roof rack system worked seamlessly. Everything was handled with ease, and Robert was easily reachable by text. I would definitely recommend Robert to anyone looking to SUP. Oh and their boards are dog-friendly!

We rented 3 seadoo's for 4 people on a perfect Monday afternoon. 1 seadoo was shared by me and a 13 year old, the other two by 2 adults (18 and 40ish :) The seadoo's were fast, comfortable and easy to use. The staff fully explained all of the ins and outs. The two guys manning the hut were super friendly and helpful. We paid $90 per hour for each seadoo. We choose to buy the $5 insurance per vehicle. LOCATION: Located conveniently in the bay on the right just before crossing into the Navarre Beach island. There's not a lot of intercoastal waterway traffic to get in your way.. One nice benefit is the Sailors Grille and Juan Pagoda's right next door. After our ride we had a nice afternoon of food and drinks while enjoying views of the bay and people playing volleyball. If you want bar food, Juan Pagoda's ToGo bites can be purchased and enjoyed on the beach area (food looked good, we didn't buy anything) If there's one negative I'd say it's the size of the bay available for riding the seadoo's. I mean it's a big area for sure, but some riders may find it limiting. OTHER: You can rent kayak's, pontoon boats and other stuff. See their website for more info. RATING NOTES 5: should be the best experience you could've possibly had for that type of business. 3 or 4: this is certainly not a negative. We purchased the insurance for $5 extra to cover any issues for a maximum charge possible of $250 but charged us $267.50 now they claim "coincidentally" there were damages to the propeller we sucked up rocks when we weren't even on the beach. Told us it doesn't matter what you do we will still charge your card. We canceled our card and our bank also stated they had set up a reoccurring payment every month for $267.50. A claim has been filed with the BBB and several reviews posted. Do not trust this company they took advantage of a local disabled veteran.

Bryan took great care in helping us learn the ropes and had plenty of fish action to keep us all busy. Bryan's patience with us, very energetic and full of life group of 4...Well I guess you could say Bryan has "The Patience of Job" in my eyes. We caught just the amount we wanted, and had time to enjoy some leisure time at "The Island". I'm so appreciative of the lenience towards our groups mood and letting us enjoy the day catching yummy fish, relaxing, and making memories with friends.
