I've made various purchases along the way. I looked at my ring recently an realized that the head that held my center stone needed to be replaced. Over the years it wore out much like the tires on a car. I stopped in to have them do that work for me. The service was very polite and efficient. The knowledgable staff has been the same ,I assume because it's a family group. The repairs are done on site in the workshop that you can see from the show room. They have at least six jewelers/repairmen full time there. My ring was ready a week from drop off. I picked it up and again the service was polite and welcoming. I noticed later that there was something that needed an adjustment and I broke my pearl necklace, so I stopped back. They were very happy to do the adjustment and restring my pearls and the turn around was very efficient. Every staff member each time was friendly and helpful. Even when it was busy or couples got engaged there. It's a joy to have a local family business here in a time of chains and on line shopping. After going to 5 stores I started to get discoursed especially as the proposal date was getting closer, 7 months away turned into to 4 months in no time. I decided to give Reeds Jenss a shot and it was the last jewelry store I stepped in to. I was greeted by Shannon H and after 5 minutes felt very comfortable. Shannon knew when I told her what I was looking for, I wasn't just looking for a diamond and setting. I described a couple different settings and she knew that a custom setting was what I needed. Usually custom means a premium above the settings in the display case, but that was actually not the case to my surprise. I was able to see every step throughout the process of creating my setting and then the final product. When it came to the diamonds they were second to none, the quality was just impeccable. I thought the couple jewelry stores back home (Saratoga) were going to have amazing quality which to my surprise was not the case. I even looked at the online options (since you know todays day and age) but I found out that even if you know the specs you want you still need to physically see the diamonds in person. Reeds again blew me away and came priced close to all online sites while also showing me the cleanest, clearest & highest quality diamond (with and without the microscope) that I had seen from all of the stores. Ultimately, I felt like I was at home with friends when I was in Reeds and Shannon was able to answer my hundreds of questions (unlike some experiences you may have). She was just as excited for my proposal and couldn't wait to hear about it once we returned from our trip. Everything went smoothly and my now fiancée couldn't believe everything after I told her. Basically, you go in and tell them what you need, and they make you happy. My first experience was buying wife's wedding engagement ring. They were recommended by a friend. They were honest about quality and cost, and sold me a GIA registered diamond. My wife loved the ring so much, we returned for our wedding bands and diamond necklaces for the bridesmaids. I've since returned for a "travel" wedding band for my wife, and my father has also bought jewelry from TAG. I would recommend TAG to anyone for any jewelry purchase. There is not a lot in the store, but they will tell you this keeps down their overhead...and thus their prices.

The one ring had this vintage type sizer on it, I thought I'd need to get it fully resized to fit. He sized up my fingers, and took the ring into the back. A few minutes later he returned with the ring guard fully off and it fit like a charm! No resizing needed. He explained what he did and why they used to use those types of resizers. The knowledge base he has is so amazing!!! And He wouldn't even accept payment !! I'm now able to wear this family heirloom with pride thanks to James.
