If they are not new they are certainly new to us. Vox books work like an audiobook and contain a little speaker on the book. Big hit in my household! Customer service was great. The person checking us out shared how to charge the books and appreciated my feedback on how much my child likes them. It might be the only public bathroom in the area. Big thank you for all the librarians and library team members that work to keep the doors open to the community!

There are two computers for internet. There is also a printer for print jobs or Xerox copies. Staff here is friendly. Kudos for the great selection of magazines including Lonely Planet for travel, Lucky Peach for foodies, & MOJO which is probably the best music magazine out there. Magazines is where the Piedmont Ave Branch Library seems to shine brightest. They were named one of the top 25 vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the world. There are some fun bookstores in Rockridge and the Rockridge Branch Library is on point. When I walked in there was a display of cookbooks including Oakland's own vegan cookbook author Bryant Terry's book Vegan Soul Kitchen and the fun vegan cookbook Thug Kitchen: Part Grub for social mother f*ckers. Inside they had some nice records in the CD music section and couple of stellar vegan cookbooks. I loved the shelf with the display of Staff Picks with several books on display. That was a nice touch. Staff was friendly. This branch is an A+
