Since moving home West End Grill has been one of my fave places for lunch. The restaurant is a family run and has been in business for years and now Amy Blackwood, the chef/owner ,is pushing out delectable Crucian style Latin cuisine. Everyone who reads my reviews on Yelp knows that I am a lover of rice and beans...and I judge places on how good they can do it. Let's just say Amy gets it right each and every time! The seasoned rice is beyond delicious and eats like a meal on its own.Debbie is the restaurant manager and bartender on hand, she makes a wicked local lemonade and an even meaner rum punch.
West End Grill is the Crucian Ais open Tue-Sat and they are always quite busy, so call ahead for take out. They have a daily menu with Crucian main stays such as Stew Beef, Stew Chicken, Fried Pork Chops and Pot Fish which are all served with White or Seasoned Rice, Beans, and Vegetables. The specials changed daily and you can usually find me there for Thursday's Special: BBQ Ribs and Friday's: Lechon aka Roast Pork.
West End also serves up some seriously mouth-watering sides including my personal favorites Potato Stuffing and Baked Mac & Cheese. Other sides include Plantains (fried ripe, which makes then sticky and sweet), Tostones (fried green and then salted which gives them more of a chip-like taste), Cole Slaw and Potato Salad. read more
