I never gave West Elm a second thought - until I started seriously shopping for furniture and discovered a sea of sectional couch sameness regardless of price point. At the very least, West Elm appears to take their niche in modern and mid-century design very seriously. I don't know if I'd do my entire house in canary yellow kitsch but it's nice to see some accent pieces that break through the cobwebs of Ethan Allen's sleepy time miasma. Throughout the store prices seem reasonable and I suspect there's always some sort of "sale" going on. It's the rare retailer who'll give you 30% off in honor of Herbert Hoover's birthday. West Elm is a welcome departure from the ordinary. Five easy stars. read more

Huge thanks to Shawna at this store! Despite not being in sales, she went above and beyond to help me find the perfect couch for my living room. Her honesty and great eye are hard to find, and she even asked for pictures of my living room and drew me a measurement guide for my size options to offer further guidance. I am blown away that this store doesn't work on commission and has someone like Shawna to be so helpful. I took my time deciding, and when I had emailed Shawna she remembered me. So happy this store is only 40min from home in the heart of red bank! Love coming to this side of town with stores like urban outfitters & world market nearby, it's the perfect area for home furnishing shopping. This location was so nice & maintained. The staff was sweet & helpful. They had a tiny clearance section which was cool but a lot of the items were boxed in unmarked brown boxes so it was hard to sift through. I didn't make a purchase here the first time around but the showroom was perfect for gathering ideas & measurements of the actual furniture. read more

I absolutely love this store! I love Red Bank, NJ too, but West Elm is a magnificent store with some great designers working there. More specifically, Jenna! Speaking of which she helped us design our living room to where we purchased some beautiful Hudson End Tables for our coffee time. She's wonderful! She even pointed out these beautiful Knick knacks like these pretty, gold painted candle holders, a vase, an interesting door mat, and some great coffee tables. That being said, we're definitely coming back. And what I really liked was her design sense and professionalism. You know that feeling getting into a bed with clean sheets? Multiply that by 10 when the sheets, pillow cases, duvet cover and throw blanket are all brand new. Never leaving my bed now. Thanks, west elm! Even though they were a bit busy, Jennifer was so amazing. She helped me with everything from sizes that I needed to opinions on colors that I desperately needed. I considered picking up a new duvet insert and she didn't hesitate to take a couple out of the packaging for me to feel. I opted to hold off on that but really appreciated her help. She walked with me around the store and never really seemed distracted. I walked in thinking that I would just be getting a duvet cover because that is what I really needed. And have been looking for forever. But they had a great sale section. Like, a really good sale section and I couldn't resist I got a really great and simple duvet cover, matching pillow cases and a cozy forest green throw blanket all for like $130. That's basically what I expected to pay just for a new duvet cover. It would be too easy to spend all of my money and cover my apartment in everything west elm. First of all - the store is GORGEOUS. I went in this summer during a very rare shopping trip and complimented one of the sales people on the merchandising and THE PLANTS - could not believe how beautiful everything was. She proceeded to share where she had sourced them, local restaurants she loves (we had just moved here) and helped us find a chair we were trying to see in person before pulling the trigger. We ordered two chairs over the phone and Assistant Manager Jimmy (James C) has been so helpful for the last few months while we tackled issues with the wood color being off and then there were issues getting a replacement. Has the product aspect been quite annoying? Yes. Did Jimmy's customer service make that experience much less stressful for me because he continually communicated and offered sincere help/advice/apologies? ABSOLUTELY. Given everything going on in the world - he could have just let me work with customer service myself and deal with the fallout, but he never did that. He called them for me multiple times, tracked shipment, deliveries, called to check on colors and provide updates - beyond top notch customer service. I'm a West Elm customer for life after this experience and I'm thrilled we are only 10 minutes from the store while we are trying to decorate our new home. read more

West Elm is a first class store with horrible customer service. I bought a complete home of furniture and have no set date for delivery. I am talking about months trying to nail them down with a date. West Elm did take my money AND they fail to realize my frustration. I have tried to cancel the order and they will not allow me to do that because they do not want to refund my money. The personnel at the Red Bank, NJ store are clueless. Absolutely love this store. Glad to know that we have a West Elm right in Red Bank and that I do not have to travel all the way to Brooklyn in order to be able to shop. West Elm has great furniture - at reasonable prices - as well as nice housewares (glasses, silverware, and other assorted knickknacks) to help populate your home and make everything comfortable and aesthetically pleasing! The staff at West Elm cannot be beat. Everyone truly appeared to enjoy their job. They seemed to really want to make sure your shopping experience was a good one and they offered true customer service in helping you out if you needed help! If not, feel free to browse. The staff in the Red Bank store goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to make their customers happy, and I truly can't say enough about them, especially after my last experience. I ordered a rug online at the beginning of September 2019. By mid-December, my rug had not yet arrived, and they had pushed back my expected delivery date ELEVEN times. Exasperated and hopeless, I walked into the Red Bank store on the off chance they might be able to help. As it turns out, they are miracle workers! Jimmy, one of the managers, empathized with me immediately and told me that he wouldn't stop working on my case until the rug was on my floor. That day while I was in the store, he made 3 phone calls and spent a half hour on the phone getting more information about my order and trying to figure out why it wasn't being shipped. When I left the store that day, I had full confidence that Jimmy was going to fix this for me. He followed up by phone and e-mail the next day to tell me that I should be getting a call to schedule the delivery that day, and I did. My rug is finally scheduled to be delivered next week, and I have Jimmy to thank. He truly performed a Christmas miracle for me, and he should be recognized for his stellar customer service. read more

Buyer beware. The service here is the worst I have ever experienced. Salesperson Dana told me the benefit of ordering my sofa through her instead of online was that she could keep me informed of my order and help if any issues arose. Well when tracking stopped at the first step for over 25 days and I reached out because the end of my delivery window was nearing, she had zero information as to when I could expect the sofa. She told me I would get a call from the delivery company but I did not. Then when I emailed her on the last day of the delivery window asking for her to help, she felt totally fine telling me that they were well within the delivery window -- because that day they changed my window to a completely different set of dates. She wasn't a customer service rep overseas that just sees what the computer says, she sold me the sofa and knows I had been inquiring because the window was over. I am in awe that she thinks that response is ok. She made mistakes with my initial order and just continued to fail us. It's been over two months since I made the purchase, over a month since they charged me and I have no idea where my sofa is. Wish I had read all the reviews about how bad the staff is here before I made this large purchase. Despite my love for West Elm's style, I will never buy another item from this location. The store is beautiful - but I highly recommend making big purchases elsewhere. read more

As I currently wait on hold for a supervisor for another 40 minutes I will begin to write this review. I placed an order at this location on June 18th and today is October 9th and I still do not have my order. On the original date of delivery after calling over a dozen times and demanding my issue be escalated I learned by order has NOT EVEN BEGAN PRODUCTION. Mind you this was at the estimated date of delivery. Although all the people I have spoke to have been pleasant - what they say is not true. My new date estimated date for my couch is October 12th yet my order has not began to ship to the delivery site. I am completely disappointed with West Elm and would never buy from them again nor recommend them. read more

I called the West Wlm store and not only was the manager Jen DeMarco great to work with but she offered to let us use a floor sample from the store while our guests were in town before our dresser arrived. I called about a month later to finish my living room. Colleen was off that day so Shawna had offered to help. I had this poor girl on the phone for over an hour! It's design is very pleasing for the house; I have it set in the vestibule leading to the dining room... It has two drawers with metal knobs and an open bottom shelf... Not only did they have a lot of items on display, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Vicki helped us design the space keeping our preferences and styles in mind. We have since been back and both Vicki and Grace remembered us and followed up on our purchases. This store was also very helpful when we inquired on delivery schedule of an item.
