BEWARE of the owner, he makes promises with no intentions of following through with them…read more I would have done zero stars but there is no option for 0. I had to take a month long work trip with very little notice and after looking and talking to multiple horse boarding places I decided to go with Oasis. First we talked on the phone he said he had two 12x20 stalls next to each other with all day turn out. I made him aware that one of my horses is 21 and has severe ring bone and arthritis and definatley needs daily turn out. Also very important my 21 year old gets her 12 pounds senior feed daily or she will loose weight. He said no problem ill take good care of them. When I got there to look at the facility the stalls were only 16x16, really small for 16 hand horses. He reasured me they would be turned out all day, daily and only in the stalls at night. Yelp just said I couldn't have over 5000 characters so I had to really shorten this. Long story short my 2 horses got turned out 1 time in 30 days, my horses did not get there grain and my 21 year old horse appears to have lost atleast 75 pounds, missing there new halters and lead rope. He promised me my horses would be well taken care of. He told me they sent everyone a daily report on water intake, stall cleaning, turnout time and food eaten. I thought wow thats cool never had a facility do that before. He seemed like a very nice and knowledgeable man so I agreed to board my 2 horses with him. A normal border can always hand walk a horse during irrigation or rain, ride them or put in arena but I was 1600 miles a way so I trusted him to do what was needed and he didnt even try. I feel so bad for putting my horses in this situation. And, to put it nicely I really dislike the owner because not only did he totally neglect my horses and there needs he caused me enormous stress for a month. Soooo dissapointed! Feel free to call contact me through messenger if you want more info. There is so much more to this but yelp only allows you to right so much. Misty Beck

He was amazingly patient yet insistent on the result I was looking for and kept every promise he made. I've had just two months of riding lessons with him and Aldo had my horse and I going down the trail in the 30 days we agreed to. Would highly recommend Aldo for training with any horse or person for riding lessons/horsemanship - highly knowledgeable, honest and will do exactly what he says/promises. I'm a beginner - he's provided so much knowledge for myself and my daughter via horsemanship lessons and has been incredibly patient with my learning curve. We couldn't be happier working with him!

I'll explain my issue in detail because I think it's important to understand just how bad it was…read moreand how much progress Aldo made in just 1 visit. I purchased a 3-4 year old mare recently knowing I'd have to put a little training into her. She was barefoot (never shoed), I was told she had not had her back feet trimmed because she would not let the farrier handle them, and the last time they had her fronts trimmed it had "been a fight"... and this is only a 13.1hh horse! Her previous owner had worked with her but made no progress and for that reason just wanted her gone. I myself had helped friends with their large horses who had issues with their back hooves being touched, I've helped them teach their horses to stand still, allow their feet to be touched and I have even helped them twitch a couple horses when needed. But THIS mare would not relax, twitching did not work and she did not just try to pull her feet away (as my friends horses would do) she would actually try to swing her rear towards you and intentionally kick out at you if you reached towards the rears, she'd also attempt to bite you in the back if you tried to handle the fronts. Other than this foot issue she is actually very sweet and has decent ground manners. Her fronts were in bad shape when I got her to my stables so I had a farrier out the very next day. The morning of his visit I gave her some magnesium and a light sedative to help calm her, even with sedatives I had to hold her head to prevent her from biting while he worked on her fronts which she continuously pulled away from him, he said he would try the back feet last because he "had a feeling" she was going to lose it when it came time for the rears, well, he made 1 attempt to pick up a rear hoof and she made it very clear it wasn't going to happen, so once again she went without her rears getting done. I had another trainer come out, he spent some time with her but never even put hands on the rear legs, he actually looked perplexed about how to go about the issue because she kept kicking at him, he said he thought she might have had a bad experience previously because she was abnormally apprehensive, he made NO progress and his only advise was that if I was going to have him come out again that he would like me to ride her for 40 minutes prior to his visit to get rid of some of her energy ($40 down the drain). Then I had Aldo come out, although it seemed everyone else who dealt with her felt like she was a special case and weren't sure how to handle her, he knew exactly what to do. Being that she is a mare with a little attitude, I was glad to see she became comfortable around him pretty quickly and after doing a few exercises she had no issues allowing him to pick up her fronts. By the end of the lesson he was able have her stand free and untied and lift her front feet fairly effortlessly, she would also stand still and allow him to touch her back legs which she had not done before. He had also taught her to "stand" still on command, I wasn't sure she'd remember the "stand" command after his lesson but she has totally retained it and it has come in handy quite a few times since the lesson! She also has continued to allow us to lift her front feet. I was thrilled to have undeniable results after just a single lesson and would highly recommend Aldo for any horse training needs.

I hired Bill and Poppy Behrens to transport my two horses and three goats. Everything appeared…read morelegit and professional up until the day for pickup. I had pre-arranged with Poppy to travel with her husband, Bill to our destination. The day he arrived everything started out normal. We made it just about an hour when Bill said the truck was not working right. We happened to be about 30 minutes from his home ranch. We went back there where he said he would drop off my animals, he would take me back to my home on the other side of town, I would travel to our new destination with my family, and when the truck was fixed he would deliver our animals. He instructed me to put our three dairy goats (female) into a pen with his mini horses and donkeys. This pen was adjacent to a pen with a buck and a ram, separated by no-climb fencing. I voiced a concern about the buck being right next to the does, and that goats can and will mate between fencing. I was not comfortable with the situation. He flipped out. He became aggressive in verbiage and demeanor. I did my best to not engage with him as I recognized immediately how unstable he was. The following are statements that he made during my time at his ranch: "Listen up here girly, I am 63 years old - old enough to be your father. You address me as sir." "It's selfish of you to be traveling with your animals. You should be with your family. I'll take care of your animals." "That's just like a woman to be all emotional and incapable of making decisions." (he said this several times, I wasn't incapable, I was terrified and overwhelmed) "We have all your money. Yeah, that's right. You should be kissing your hauler's a## right about now." "If you don't want to cooperate with me, that's fine. I'll take you and your animals back to your place and you can find a different ride to Idaho." (this was stated to me by him, then when I discussed this with his wife over the phone she said she would only give me half of our $1800 back) When he did get his wife on the phone she was equally combative although she did still attempt to maintain a professional tone. However she did take his side on all counts and I knew there wasn't going to be an easy solution. He took me back to my ranch on the other side of town, all the while acting friendly and nonchalant, as if he hadn't belittled and insulted me. I just wanted to get away. When we arrived, my husband and a friend were there. I had been communicating with my husband over the phone, but he came out to speak with Bill. He asked Bill what was going on in a completely non-threatening way. Bill again flipped out on him. He puffed out his chest and said "what, do I need to explain myself to you too? Your wife and I have this all worked out, talk to her." Our friend attempted to calm him down. I interjected, and requested some documents from him, left in his truck. He went to get them. My husband went to the rear of his truck to write his license plate down. We were facing leaving the state without our livestock, and we had paid in full for the haul. We had no assurance of a delivery, especially after witnessing Bill's unprofessional behavior. Bill saw what he was doing, get upset and declared that he "would be returning our fu##ing animals back to us." Then he jumped in his truck and sped away. I was having a panic attack. Ten minutes later Poppy called me. "What's going on?" I explained the exchange. She immediately took Bill's side, stating my husband was being combative, and wanted to know if we would be cancelling. She promised that as soon as the truck was fixed the animals would be delivered. She was thinking it would be a day or two at most. I asked for an email stating everything we discussed over the phone. At this, we left AZ only hoping they would follow through. Their behavior had us doubting their integrity and professionalism, but we had no other options. Our animals were delivered to us 3 weeks and 3 days later. Every one of our animals lost a substantial amount of weight. Our largest goat was easily 40 lbs lighter. Our nubian doeling had her ear tag ripped out at some point, leaving her ear split in two. The wound was old, the skin was shriveled and dry at the tear. This had not been reported to us, despite having been in nearly daily contact. Hopefully someone will read this review and learn from my mistakes. Do not hire the Behrens'. Never pay in advance for a haul. This detail escaped me since the plan was for me to travel with him in the first place. Obviously, plans change. You, the client, should have that last ace in the pocket to ensure prompt delivery. Also, as the client, you should be treated with professionalism and respect. Bad reviews are bad for business after all.
