Not only did she come up with this idea, Dr. McCarroll campaigned for highway delineation lines which were eventually used not only in California but all over the world. Her achievement warranted this marker placed facing Indio Boulevard, which does indeed feature white delineation lines. Not only did Dr. McCarroll advocate for public safety, she was one of the first female physicians in the area and the only physician providing medical care for the Cahuilla Native Americans forced to live on local reservations. Favorite set this year was Nine Inch Noize at Sahara, Ceremony inside the Sonora tent, Suicidal Tendencies, etc. It's the best music festival in the world and worth the hefty price tag. Concert tickets are just about $100 plus dollars, so you're able to see so many artists for less than a standard L.A. venue ticket. HIghly recommend doing it once in your lifetime, but it is exhausting. Don't go back to work for a week after you attend all three days and book a spa day or a massage, the Monday after.

Mask up! My favorite stage is probably the Dolab stage because it's such a vibe and good for aesthetic pictures. The Sahara is also nice because of the lights and lasers. Food there is all overpriced. I paid like $60 for like two pizzas and a drink. Hungry though so you gotta do what you gotta do, lol. This year Coachella did a collab with Gap and they had an area where you are able to make your own custom hoodie with unique patches! I missed out on it because the line was outrageous!

We decided to visit Coachella Valley Museum yesterday after hoping to go for a while now…read more The grounds and exhibits are so great, only surpassed by the warm welcome by the docent volunteers. My husband, a stroke survivor walking with a wheeled walker, had no problem getting through to the entryway on the long paved path from the external gate on Miles Street. Inside, the exhibits are so interesting and the facility is bright and clean. We love Indio, so seeing the history of the city's populace enriched our understanding about life in early days. They have a beautiful shop which is now added to my list if cool places to obtain unique gift items. Parking is right across Miles on the corner, directly facing the big museum gate. A ramp connects the parking lot to the roadway. While the property is not a massive one, Coachella Valley Museum is a rich cultural walk through the olden days and you are still close to the downtown area and hidden foodie hangouts like Gabino's Creperie and the Friday Night Food Trucks or the sweet Farmers' Market.

I was incredibly disappointed, especially because we were so excited to bring that piece home. Well, I have to say, this story has taken a wonderful turn! After I posted my review, Tyler, the owner of Misty's, personally reached out to me. She took the time to explain what happened, and I learned that the original artwork was being sold on consignment and that they couldn't reach the owner. It wasn't that anyone didn't want to sell the piece to me. The store also has a one-hour hold policy, and another customer was there ready to purchase it. But here's where the story gets really good! Tyler genuinely wanted to make things right. Through her connections, she located **the exact same artwork** and arranged for a framing company she works with to frame it in the same beautiful style as the original. The best part? My artwork will actually be brand new! She even took time out of her day off to coordinate shipping and find a reasonably priced delivery service to get the piece to my home. I am expecting it by November 10th, and I couldn't be more excited! Looking back, I wish I had picked up the phone and spoken with Tyler before becoming a TYPING NINJA on Yelp! Sometimes we are so quick to share our frustrations without giving someone the opportunity to explain or make things right. And find a vendor that will AFFORDABLY transport consigned items to sell and when purchased- your relationship with S&D movers is a rip off! $175 hour + a two hour min. $350 just to drop off a consigned item. I emailed you to verify if that was correct, and the unsigned response ignored the question entirely- and asked "Have we approved the items you wish to bring in?" Sure, she was pretty scared at first and stayed close to the center of the basket, avoiding to look out and down, but she started feeling more comfortable the longer we were in the sky. We booked on their website and used the promo code "Groupon" for a discounted price of about $180 per person. The meeting point was in the parking lot of a shopping center in Temecula at 5:30am. There, they went over some rules, info about hot air ballooning and there was a photographer/videographer, Wesly Cajuste, selling packages for stills and a video. He has a drone that follows the balloon. My friends and I decided to go for it since it was our first time and it was a special occasion (friend's birthday). We were very happy with the way the video and the photos came out. Then, a couple shuttle vans took us to where they were setting up the hot air balloons, which varies depending on the wind. Before getting in the basket, we got to go in the balloon while they were inflating it. It was chilly in the morning, but it gets pretty warm being under the propane tank, so hats and layers are suggested. We were 4 groups of 4 and were assigned to a huge balloon with 4 separate compartments we were snug in. The knowledgeable and experienced pilot, Brian, was in the middle. I read that the baskets have doors but we had to climb in ours. The ride was about an hour long and we had a spectacular view of Temecula valley. I was a little nervous about the landing, but Brian is clearly a pro and did a magnificent job with a smooth landing on an open field. No mimosas in the air since there are no restrooms, but they busted out the Crooks when we got out! The website said breakfast, but they actually just give out ziplocked bags of snacks. Lol! Totally not necessary. The balloon ride was the ultimate highlight! They also give a certificate, which includes a list of wineries you can get discounts at for having done the hot air experience.
