I'll start with this. You might be reading this page and be concerned about a 3.8 Yelp average rating for a person you are entrusting your treasured jewels to. I was initially concerned too, until I did my research. Turns out, people HATE urologists! When I brought this up, Dr Lee agreed, stating that most people are in suffering when attending the urologist and low scores would be expected. Most in this county are 2 and below, so by comparison 3.8 is actually a premium rating when graded on a curve. Some of the scores should technically be tossed - reviews from people who never actually were patients don't count! Now I'll get into the actual experience with West Coast Urology. First off, their reception staff is NEXT LEVEL. I've been to a urologist office where they practically ignored me and treated me like a human trash can. NOT HERE! Izabella provided a reception experience to die for. She didn't shame me for being three minutes late. She smiled. She handed me paperwork. She did all the things you dream of in a reception area. I get taken back and Dr Lee comes in hot. No waiting around. He gets right to it and confirms I'm ready to have my vas deferens cut and burned. He tells me the risks. He tells me the rewards. He does it all with a smile and laughter. By the time I left, I thought we were friends (he confirmed we weren't). There's not much else to say. Comparatively, this place is the Four Seasons of urologists. Book yourself an appointment now, you won't regret it! read more

Nannet was extremely patient and kind when I contacted her numerous times for help in trying to locate a fax from Quest Diagnostics. I'd give her a 10/10. I think if the lab order from the doctor's office had been coded correctly before the lab work was done, her help would not have been needed. read more

I want to start right off by saying that this office respected the appointment time that I had made. I arrived early, to fill out the forms and was seen at the appointed time. In my opinion this speaks highly of both the office staff and the doctor. So many offices/doctors, disrespect your time by making you wait way past your appointment time to see the doctor. read more

This place is such a godsend. My wife went to the ER where she was diagnosed with kidney stones. And then she was sent home in pain. We called West Coast urology and Nannet, who works in their office was so unbelievably helpful. Long story short, the insurance company and a slew of other people I spoke to at medical offices I called told us if would be days and possibly weeks before she would be able to be seen. Nannet patiently helped me navigate the system and we were in their offices that same day. I don't know what we woulda done without her. And once we were in their office, Dr Kelvin Wong's medical assistant, Luz, was so sweet and sympathetic with what my wife my wife was going through. Everything about this place was pleasant! The physician care from Dr. Wong is excellent. However, the front if office is reallly unacceptable. Three phone calls to make inquiries and reschedule were not returned. I physically went to one location to address this. In front of their closed office I met another patient with the same problem. I drove 15 minutes to their other location to reschedule, and explained the difficulty to a receptionist who said "OK". To which I responded that it really wasn't okay... and she said she'd tell the Drs. Another patient standing next to me said "I had the same problem". I'm not a lone complainer.... I called my urologist's office to get a test authorization, which for some reason was not sent to a diagnostic lab. I was helped by Nannet. She went out of her way to get an authorization faxed to the lab. This involved no small amount of time and effort on her part. Nannet also waited patiently for the interminable wait I experienced at the lab. Altogether, she went way above and beyond to help. This sort of employee is a tremendous asset to a medical practice, and I urge you to extend this recognition to her. read more

Doctor Sherif Aboseif had to do a biopsy yesterday on my prostate to determine whether there were any cancer cells present. The doctor was highly knowledgeable and professional. His assistant during the procedure, Izabella, was very kind, attentive and skillful. You don't always see this level of care in the medical arts these days. I have been receiving care from Dr. Kevin Lee of the West Coast Urology for a little over a year now (Oxnard office). I have received excellent care. I had a large kidney stone lodged that need to be surgically removed. The surgical team lead by Dr. Lee was fantastic. I have had numerous follow-up visits as I have more kidney stones. I have had follow-lab work. The staff at the office has always been in good communication with me. There have been times where Dr. Lee had emergency appointments that caused me to reschedule as well as third party labs that failed to provide timely reports. Each time I was contacted by the office to reschedule without any fuss or incident. My waits in the office were timely - NOT extraordinarily long like I have had in other offices. This is well managed. The staff are courteous and patient. Dr. Lee has a very good bedside manner. He is forthright with information. He is not dramatic in his responses. He is not stingy with is time. He does not do CYA doctoring. That is is not to say he is not thorough. He is the type of doctor you want to have. read more

The front office staff here is extremely rude and doctors support staff are a nightmare! Their paperwork and scheduling are a complete mess. They missed my insurance information and told me I can't see the doctor when I arrived for my scheduled appointment after waiting for 6 weeks. Then told me they don't take my insurance after I had called twice earlier to confirm before coming in. The support staff lady told me if I know someone who can do this job better than her that I should let her know. A passerby doctor overheard this and was mortified that his staff was speaking this way to a patient and apologized on her behalf. Would not entrust my care to such incompetence and don't recommend this establishment. read more

May 31st 2024 I have lived in Ventura for 50 years and I have seen at least six different urologists. Dr. Sheriff Aboseif is by far the best urologist I have ever seen. First and foremost this doctor is one of the most educated urologist I have ever seen and he isn't afraid to share it with you. He takes his time and makes sure that you clearly understand. On my first visit I expected to see a PA. To the contrary I met with Dr. Sheriff Aboseif who spent almost an hour with me. Dr. Sheriff Aboseif was so thorough in regard to everything, I was in shock, good shock! Not only was he very real about my situation he took the time to explain everything. He even described the procedures that he felt might help get to the bottom of what was going on with me. I have had doctors in the past cover up reality only to get you back there so they can make more money off of you. This is not how Dr. Sheriff Aboseif operates. He didn't try to talk me into anything. He was very honest about the first step and that there may be discomfort involved. Dr. Sheriff Aboseif is definitely not in this just for the money! Ironically I have not had even 25% of the discomfort he described might happen. I went in for cystoscopy last week and I was expecting pain and I felt literally nothing! That's how gentle and knowledgeable this doctor is. I have now seen Dr. Sheriff Aboseif on three different occasions. Every time I see him, I come away with so much more information and education on how everything works and the steps we need to take to get to the bottom of it. In the three times that I've seen him, I always walk away feeling grateful for having found him. Do yourself and your health a favor and walk away from any urology office in Ventura. If you are fortunate enough to be reading this review, I urge you to find out for yourself that Dr. Sheriff Aboseif is "The Best of the Best!" Oh, and the staff is awesome! read more

A true genius in the field, he inspires confidence, listens to and considers your concerns, and allows plenty of time to talk with you and your spouse. Dr Aboseif, takes the care out of healthcare. I'm mystified how the basic humanity of an office visit was so lacking. Seems to be a toxic work environment for staff. Chaotic procedure with loud eruptions and weird interactions. Questions were answered with little detail or explanation. Harsh tone. Office has a threatening aura and is hard to get a hold of through the phone. Some equipment was rusty. read more
