Lots of verbal reports at pick up time by provider. Over time my child began not wanting to go and needed encouragement, that worked into bribes. Following an incident a few months after starting, my trust in the providers integrity was challenged. I observed and hoped time off over a holiday with relaxation would result in a revived, more pleasant environment - which it did for a very short time. In the end I reported this care provider to Fraser health in the beginning of 2016. I had confirmed the claims that my child was isolated for punishment, picked on (according to other children attending), shamed regarding toilet training which took months of loving and nurturing with a new provider to correct and the worst of the events was ear pulling when misbehaving. This also was confirmed by 3 other children attending. The provider has denied all claims. Even a year after pulling my child from Grace's daycare- my child has lasting effects. Still stories come from his mouth that I'd not heard of then. My recommendation was to have a second person in the daycare- one who would offer new approaches to child interactions (correction and discipline), and most importantly offer accountability. Someone new combined with some tried and true methods could be ideal. I don't think the intention was to harm, but I think an old school outdated approach is still used here while new language covers it up so parents hear what they want to hear. Some children will flourish with strong consequences and strict expectations while other children will be hurt and damaged by such harsh ways. The beauty of the ideal child care provider is one who can identify the needs of the individual child and adapt accordingly. Integral honesty and humility are also valuable.

He's always smiling and happy to go to his "red school" which is what he calls kiddy junction. The meal program is also excellent, as a busy parent, it's good know my kid is eating healthy at school. I'm always so impressed with the meals they have (examples, Japanese pasta gratin, Italian sausage edamame risotto, pasta with salmon and garlic sauce) I feel so lucky to have found such a great centre! No complaints at all!!!!!! :)

Place was not very secure too, someone could have easily came into the premises and took all the toys away.

We have been lucky enough to put our 3 children through Extra Steps, first discovering this gem…read moreover 10 years ago. Teacher Robb made our eldest, and us, feel comfortable leaving him for the first time. Our son took a few days to get adjusted, then didn't want to leave. The 3.5 hour duration and choice between am or pm classes are such a benefit. Our daughter attended a year later and loved teacher Christa. Our youngest is now in his final year of preschool and he loves Larry and Nicole (and Christa too!). The preschool space is bright and fun, teachers take the kids to the nearby parks and/or senior centre everyday and our kids always tell us how much they enjoy/ed the school. The teachers support each child's development, offer to assist with any learning requests and instil the confidence and love of school which led to our older 2 thriving in private school kindergarten. We have recommended Extra Steps to numerous families over the years, even those who have been hesitant due to poor experiences at other schools, and they have all been so grateful for sharing this wonderful preschool with them. Kids are all treated with kindness and respect, which allows for personal development. As our time with Extra Steps will end at the close of this year, we wish to express our appreciation to the teachers for the love and support our kids have enjoyed- we really can't recommend this preschool enough. Larry and Nicole also run the most fabulous outdoor program on Saturdays, which our youngest loves and will continue to do next year.

He improves tremendously ever since he attended preschool here 5 days a week. He's now in Kindergarten and he still talks about his teachers especially Ms. Christa. I like all the educators there but my favourite one is Ms. Christa. She really helps my son to develop social and personal skills there and always treated him with kindness.

This school is definitely one of the best decisions we have ever made for our son, and this was specially evident in his transition to his elementary school education. Not only does he flourish in mathematical and analytical thinkings, his behaviors at home and at his extracurricular activities have also demonstrated his improvements throughout his life at Monarch. The principal(Ms. Grace) and the teachers(Ms. Paige and Ms. Julia) have put so much time and efforts into their kids, and the community there(among the parents and kids) is just fantastic! Just like what we have told Ms. Grace, it's really sad that Monarch doesn't have classes after kindergarten, otherwise we would leave our son there for as long as he could.

Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility has proven to me to be a "dis"organization, with…read moreVery poor communication skills ( which is sad for a company that is based on trying to improve communications abilities for their patients, and that has the word communication in it ). And I have also learned recently that there has been a history of abuse and " inappropriate " conduct from upper management towards their staff. I was a very " patient " patient of 2 locations for over 2 years while seeking help for my moderate hearing loss, very severe tinnitus, and very severe hyperacusis. My first experience was with an audiologist at the Willow street location P----- is a TRT trained audiologist and she seemed eager to help me, but she continually very abruptly spoke over the top of my answer to every question that she asked me which caused me unnecessary confusion and stress. And the receptionist at the same clinic, S---- R---- made her interactions with me very inappropriately personal in nature in the ways that she would ask me questions about my choices in audiology care that were meant to be strictly between myself and the audiologist. On top of that, P----- ( the audiologist I tried to work with ) decided to quit the organization without providing myself, and her management, any notice. In the last hour of her last day of work with Wavefront she emailed me to let me know that she was resigning that day and that I should work with someone else. I later learned from one of her colleagues that there was dozens of other Wavefront Center for Communication Accessibility audiologists and administration staff that quit the organization in a sort of " mass exodus " as, apparently there were multiple reports of derogatory verbal abuse and " inappropriate " conduct from the CEO and management to some of their audiologists and admin team. Now, after I spoke with the new CEO, h---, on the phone, I was granted an expedited appt with the last remaining TRT trained audiologist at the head office in Mount Pleasant, G----. However when the appt time came I arrived to learn that she works with a student present during every appt with her patients. I can understand that she does this to help the organization to train new audiologists, but it is definitely not appropriate to not notify each patient of this beforehand. ( I was told by the reception that my appt was with ' G---- ' and no one else. ) When I asked G----- why and asked that my hearing test be done with just her she said " No. "I said " I was not told that by you or the admin staff or the CEO, so can you explain why, G----? " And she said " No, I do not think that I have to explain that to you. Would you like to proceed? " So, I thought that was actually very ignorant of G----. I finished my updated hearing test as it was needed to get my new in-ear tinnitus masker / hearing aid devices from the organization. I told the new CEO, h---- what I experienced and he agreed with me that I should have been notified that beforehand. The devices I waited over a year for were finally ordered and finally arrived. When at the head office for the fitting, excited to finally have my new tinnitus maskers the male audiologist, named n---, greeted me. While walking down a rather long hallway to the appt room, nick asked me " how has your day been so far? " which I answered. Yet he chose to ask me the same question 2 more times. Strange. I then asked for the appt room door to be closed, for privacy, focus and because of distracting audio and visuals in the hallway. The audiologist said no. The appt room doors were always closed at their other location, so I told him and the CEO so. I was then informed by the CEO that they could not accommodate that and that they will no longer be able to help me. If I were them, I would be offering me the same appt at a different clinic, and I suggested that to him and have received no response from the CEO I am considering filing a lawsuit against Wavefront Center for these reasons.
