I am deeply disappointed in PMA's policies and treatment of families. After paying a non-refundable…read moredeposit for a 3-year program, we informed PMA five months in advance that our older son would leave for a elementary school. Despite this, they rescinded our younger son's confirmed spot (which we had in writing) and refused to refund the two months' tuition for our older son. This decision has caused emotional, logistical, and financial stress on our family. My younger son, who waited over 1.5 years for a spot, is now left without care due to an inflexible and unfair policy. This was an unethical and deeply upsetting experience.

Really struggled to find daycare for my young son when I lived in North Burnaby, and had to drive…read moreall over to get him back and forth to school, daycare, etc. K and behold, when I see there's daycare at the end of my street, I'm excited! Talk to the owner of the daycare a few times before we meet, and it's a bit hectic because spots fill exceptionally fast here, its so close to Nelson Elementary. Prices were very reasonable for before and after school care (I paid twice as much in North Burnaby for for less), and pro-D days are covered (unless there are strike days... Don't get me started). The space is divided between school aged kids on one side, and the younger ones on the other, so the toys and care are different. Huge space, large fenced back play area, support for homework, open and frequent communication... I'm thrilled with this daycare and hope to use it for many years to come.

There are many childcare options to choose from but Nido made the choice easy and our son has grown up from their Toddler class (less than 3 years old) through their Primary class (up to 5+ years old). Yes, the facilities are clean, bright, modern and open, both inside and out. Indeed, the food options (snack and lunch) are healthy and varied. But most importantly, the staff make the difference: - Multicultural staff with varied backgrounds being varied perspectives to the teaching and children. - The staff are native English speakers, which help when teaching language skills. - Continuous learning and professional development provide enhanced activities and education of the children. - The staff are keen, attentive, and patient with both parents and staff providing updates, stories of what's happened throughout each day, education on how to handle situations with children - all done in-person during drop-off and pick-up (or any time requested), and via an app called Seesaw. Their progressive approach to the staff and children's education, coupled with a low number of students per staff member make Nido easy to recommend for anyone looking for a partner in their young child's education!
