My recent surgery to repair an inguinal hernia was performed by Dr. Russel Martin, and I can tell you with absolute confidence that it was the easiest surgical experience of my life. Dr. Martin is a very good-natured man who exudes and inspires confidence that clearly comes, not from arrogance, but from experience, genuine skill, and dedication to his profession. All of my questions were answered ... all of my concerns were addressed. Dr. Martin was both patient and articulate. His team in the office and at the hospital (St. Agnes) were top-flight and made me feel very well cared for the entire time. My anesthesiologists were flawless. On a scale of 1-10 my post-op pain level never got past a 4 and my recovery has been rapid (two weeks later I am in the pool swimming laps and feeling fine) I feel none of the common post-op discomfort sometimes caused by the injection of CO2. I am 78 and Dr. Martin, made sure that I was ok for the procedure by sending me to Dr. Khoi Le (also an excellent doctor) for a cardiac clearance. As I said, surgery is stressful, but I can honestly say that Dr. Martin is the best I could hope for, and I remain very satisfied and grateful for his help in improving the quality of my life. His office is in Madera but I am picky who my dentist is ever since I moved away years ago and couldn't make it to see him. Luckily this year he was accepting new patients and he willingly took me back! My teeth has been in tip top shape and my previous dentist who disappeared (led me back to him) said who ever your previous previous dentist was absolutely did amazing on your teeth or other dentist in the field even compliments his work. He even says to say hi to my dad and sister who use to come in a while ago. I am currently trying to get everyone I know to go to them ! Today, I learned that Dr Jelen's office staff had put an exclusive "hold" on my account stating I could only receive services at his office. The Clinician had to call VSP and verify my identity and remove the "hold" on my account! This is retaliation for asking for clarification and is unacceptable. I will find a new Optometrist.

We are so lucky to have a hospital dedicated to children! The nurses here are serious about their…read morejob and they are thorough with the patient teaching. Taking care of children and making sure their parents are okay also is a tough job so I give it to them. My toddler was very calm and laughed with the nurse that took him in. I was sad and happy at the same time that he was not scared and comfortable. The waiting room for parents had complimentary snacks and water. There's also a free charging station for any type of phone. Vending machine for other snacks. You can leave and come back if need to step out. For privacy every parent had a special code to see their child's progress. I hope other parents get the same experience and care as I felt.
