Dirty Dogs - Mission Valley

I brought my dog in on a Friday, and the store wasn't busy at all, so I was surprised by the…read moreexperience. When we were assigned a self wash station, the tub was dirty and covered in dog hair from the previous customer. Since there were other tubs available, I would have appreciated being placed at a clean station rather than having to start by cleaning up someone else's mess. Not mention that the blow dryer was broken and fell back into the little cubby. After I finished bathing my dog, I waited quite a while at the register to pay. During that time, Natalie, who was working the front desk, was in the back talking with coworkers. One employee even acknowledged that Natalie would be with me shortly, but despite seeing me waiting, Natalie didn't come over until the store manager returned and told her to assist me. What was most disappointing is that I easily could have walked out without paying because no one was paying attention. I understand everyone gets busy, but with so few customers in the store, I expected better awareness and customer service. I hope management addresses both the cleanliness of the self-wash stations and the attentiveness of the front desk staff so future customers have a better experience.

I've been a repeat customer at this grooming salon and have generally been happy, but my most…read morerecent experience was concerning. After my dog's appointment, she began itching persistently, and I later found what appears to be a cut. I contacted the groomer after a few days and sent photos, but they denied that it could have happened during the appointment and suggested it occurred earlier. I'm confident the issue started after the grooming visit. I'm disappointed not only by the injury but by how the situation was handled. I would have appreciated more accountability and concern. I'm sharing this so other pet owners can make informed decisions.

We had never been here before, and as soon as a staff member saw our baby girl, they rushed her into the back for triage. Cali was not showing any signs of distress the day before, and so we were really confused & upset seeing our bright and happy dog like this. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we were called into an exam room. Dr. Cody explained what was going on with Cali & shared that her prognosis did not look good. We had to make the heart-wrenching decision to say good bye to our Cali girl. A short while later, we were in another little room with a visibly upset Dr. Cody while she administered the injections into Cali's IV. Through my tears, I could see Cali's resignation, and while I hugged her during her last breaths, I understood that this dreadful decision was the right thing to do for her. I never thought I'd have to write a review about this, yet here we are. Dr. Cody and the staff here were caring and honest, and I believe they did right by us. While this hospital is expensive, I'm grateful that they helped me to make my baby's passing as pain free and humane as possible. Peace.

I drove over 5 hours to get to San Diego specifically to see Dr Barrie Sands at the Integrative…read moredepartment at VCA. My holistic vet said there were only two doctors in California doing VSEL treatment (stem cell treatment) and Dr. Sands was one of them. I had a really positive experience there! My dog Charlie had a spinal injury and surgery just two months before we showed up. He was paralyzed in his back legs from the accident and was regaining function and his ability to walk -- which was so exciting! We heard this stem cell treatment could really help him heal even more -- so I took the trek out there to do it. Dr. Sands and her team were extremely professional. They addressed all my needs and it was a lovely team of women who helped Charlie. Since the procedure Charlie has been doing amazing and is walking so well and is more energized then ever. He truly seems happier than he ever was even pre-injury! I'm so grateful for Dr. Sands and her team. I love that VCA has this integrative department that practices more holistic medicine. Also Dr Sands gave me a ton of really useful information and resources on how to support Charlie in the future and I'm so grateful! It was a great experience all around.

We just couldn't have had a better experience adopting through Labrador and Friends Dog Rescue!!!…read moreTruly!! The website was great, I appreciated the information they had about each dog (personality and demeanor, if they're good with other animals or kids, if they're house trained, good in cars, etc). Those are all things you are wondering about when bringing in a new pet and it shaped which dogs initially applied for. The adoption process as a whole was clear and well communicated. Incredibly responsive and attentive team of volunteers. We had the greatest experience working with one of their Adoption Coordinators, Ruth. She made it an incredible experience and felt like family by the time our adoption was closed- she was so communicative and responsive. She answered most of my questions before I even got to ask them! After the application was completed, Ruth and I had a facetime interview. It was so obvious how much this team cares for these dogs and wants to make sure the fit is great for both adopter and dog. We adopted a dog that had a recent ACL surgery and Ruth took great care in getting us all information available to make an informed decision. Her and I were in constant contact and she explained what each step of the process looked like and kept me well informed about what was next. They have a policy of every adoption being a "trial adoption" (about a week) to ensure the dog is a great fit for the new family, in it's new home. We fell in love with our new pup immediately, but really appreciated the week trial to confirm our home/family was a good fit for him. We had daily check-ins with our adoption coordinator and that was great! This is a FANTASTIC organization to work with. Amazing volunteers who give so much time and energy to give these dogs a better life. Thankful to be a part of it and can't recommend them enough!

She was 11months when I adopted her and almost 12 when she passed. My current dog from Labs and Friends is 6 yrs old. Her owner died and the husband surrendered her. Kippy, my new friend, is very loving and cute! I don't think she's had much training, so we will start training soon. I know she will be the best ever as we help each other get over loss. She's so happy and healthy! The two fosters who cared for her before I adopted her went above and beyond to provide love and care for Kippy! I couldn't have asked for more! If you are in the market for a new friend, I highly recommend Labradors and Friends Dog Rescue Group! They made the adoption process easy and painless! I have all her vet records already! *****
