The park has a playground for children, which includes a jungle gym, swings, slides, etc. There are many benches around the play ground. Also, a picnic table and gazebo are available next to the beach volleyball net. This is the reason why the park is always busy during summertime. Many people have their parties here. Teens also come and play soccer and basketball during the day. The parking lot is large and private. There is a bike trail around the Beirman Park and the Heritage Lake. It's a very convenient for biking and walking. I come to this park with my children every other week during the summer to stay in shape and also enjoy the beautiful scenery, weather, and sounds of nature. Many people go fishing at the lake. There were many toys that made noises, rocking horses, a large green dome with holes, and a smaller playground with slides. They are still fundraising to build a playground for children 5-12 years old. Once that playground is built I'm sure it will be even more of a hit for families. That said there are features that the 5-12 year olds will like! Two large slides, an obstacle to climb on, and a glider swing. There are also several walking trails. My son loved this park! It was a pretty hot day, but one of the nicest things is that the park is primarily in the shade. There are two main playgrounds right next to each other. Add the smell of fires burning, the fresh snow, and the laughter of children - and i was transported to my childhood in MN. My only feedback was that there were areas that didn't get cleared, so they were inaccessible to the public. As they were listed in the attraction, I was disappointed to not be able to experience them. Especially when there was nothing at the beginning letting us know that parts were closed.

My friends dad said running up that hill was the reason he was able to finish the marathon! I guess to him mentally running up the hill was hard, for me sprinting hills is easy peezy. But running long distance itself was hard for me. So the best place to train for a full marathon was Busse Woods doing the loop 2X's on Sundays. Meachum grove isn't too bad for 4-6 miles, but you'll have to run it 3-4 times so it's not ideal if you don't like doing loops. I did train here for marathons though because of the hill aspect.

Boat house looks great and like watching people catch little fish and release. Probably some of the most favorite things is all the mature trees. It's so calm there that it is easy to relax. Lots of people with hammocks just chillin and a lot of the houses around Lake Ellyn are pretty spectacular so even great views on both sides when walking around the park and lake
