We immediately placed the order for the Regency Gi33LE the first week in November, with Stewart for the new gas insert inside our current wood burning fireplace. Much to our surprise, they were able to squeeze us into their schedule to have it installed before Thanksgiving! Dan and his crew professionally installed a new gas line/pipe and dedicated electric circuit inside our house for the new insert and arranged with the Town inspector to obtain permits and inspection. All went exceptionally well. Dan is incredibly knowledgeable about home construction and the gas fireplace products and business. On a scale of 1-10, I rate him a 10 on customer service. With the snowstorm on Jan. 25, 2026, we tested the manual turn on using batteries in case the power goes out. After the test, the fireplace would not turn back on, so I emailed him on a Sunday morning to see if there was a trouble shoot for this problem. Immediately, he phoned me, and within 5-10 minutes, we started the fireplace with his over the phone directions!! Wow, we were so pleasantly surprised and very much appreciative of his support!! We thoroughly enjoy our new highly functional and esthetic gas fireplace insert and the heat that warms our rooms. After servicing it, they failed to put the logs back correctly and left the flue closed. Within hours, soot blew throughout our entire house. Black soot covered walls, ceilings, upholstery, linens, and furniture in nearly every room. The damage was catastrophic. We had to go through our homeowners insurance because the cleanup costs exceeded $60,000. The restoration required professional soot remediation, sealing and repainting walls, cleaning all upholstery and fabrics, and extensive cleaning throughout the entire home. What made this even worse was the company's response afterward. They would not provide the business owner's information or their business insurance information, and they took absolutely no responsibility for the damage caused by their work. We were left to handle the nightmare ourselves.

The team was able to come to my home quickly, within days, which was wonderful. Upon arrival they conducted a "safety inspection and cleaning" of my fireplace, replaced the batteries in the receiver, something I had done only days before, turned it on and off five times and determined it was good. We were charged $298 for their service. Only days later, after turning on the fireplace for the first time since their service call, once again the fire turned off and on at random. I contacted Legacy Home Comfort, conveyed how disatisfied I was with their service visit, and insisted they come back to address the issue as I had requested, not just a safety inspection and cleaning (reminder that it's a gas fireplace, not a wood burning fireplace). While waiting for them to schedule another visit and come back to my home, I did some additional research online and learned that fireplace RF receivers such as mine can receive interference from other devices and that interference can sometimes result in the off/on issue I was having. To rule that out as a possibility I adjusted the "dip" and "on" switches of my remote and receiver. To my surprise and delight it now works without issue. After being sure that I had fixed the problem I again contacted Legacy Home Comfort, explained that the issue was resolved, but that I was in fact the one who fixed the issue. I further conveyed my disatisfaction with their work but told them I wanted to be reasonable (out of respect for their time), and politely asked for a refund of half the money I paid for their service call. The messages were read, but no reply or refund was received. I recommend to anyone looking for service on their fireplace to avoid this company. When looking back on my experience with them, they were in my home for minutes, sent a technician who wasn't vaccinated for CV-19, didn't fix the issue that prompted my call in the first place, charged me for services I didn't request, and after being held accountable, failed to provide a reasonable refund. Jeremy is the polite and knowledgable owner of this family run business. Not only is he an experienced craftsmen but he has a whole stable of experts working for him as well. Beau is one of the best project managers around and his years in the business and expertise are obvious. He always double checks with the boss and on the schedule so he will not promise things he can't deliver. He communicates directly with you and will be there almost daily to check on the status of your job. Jeremy has several larger crews working for him. The demolition crew is has numerous helpers and they are quick. Derrick was wonderful and made sure that there was no mess left behind and attended to all of the details. The painters he uses are also true professionals. Jeff and his guys were fast, neat and their work looks great. Finally, there are those who are called in to handle special jobs. The plumber responds quickly and can help you with anything from small leaks to complete renovations. As for all of the detail work, Chris is one of the best finishing guys you could have. He is obviously skilled, clear and concise on what he will do and takes his time to make sure that the house is put together just right. The only problem you will run into is scheduling.
