He is not always the most cooperative, but they assured us they could handle things and they've totally lived up to their word. I once overheard them trying to help a resident who was beginning to get super agitated and he was met with a sustained calm, reassuring, patient voice. In addition to feeling good about their care--it's a nice place to be, it really does have an at-home family feel. After my first visit I had some tears in my eyes on my way out and I could see a lot of care in the faces of everyone I passed who worked there, which was really nice to experience as I feel a lot of care facilities I've visited lack that down-to-earth humanitarian feel. I'm particularly grateful for, and impressed by, Oliver's sincere compassion and care for the memory residents in the unit he directs. That's really what sold me on the place immediately, the first day I went, and he toured me through the memory care ward. I was scared to go because I had never been in a locked memory care unit before, and I imagined it would be some awful, dark, creepy, depressing, prison-like place full of anguish and suffering. It was anything but. Light, airy, clean, welcoming, with friendly staff being very attentive to everything that was happening. Every time I visited after my husband moved there, I had this same positive impression of the place. That very first day, I saw how Oliver interacted with some residents--one who was very frightened, and another who seemed very angry--and he just took the time to comfort them, listen to them, joke with them, and acknowledge them. He gave them so much dignity. It was very moving. Thank you Oliver, for doing this important work. Thank you Aegis for providing such a quiet and peaceful place for my husband to rest during his final days.

She was suffering from Parkinson's disease then had some falls resulting in to two incidences of broken hips. Needless to say, a really rough time previous to her arriving at De Un Amor, but once there things smoothed out greatly for her. I really can't say enough about how much we appreciated our mom being in such a pleasant place. The facility itself is bright and inviting; and the outside grounds with an orchard one side and a creek on the other is so very nice. The staff are all very kind, attentive and caring toward the residents and visitors. When I first visited De Un Amor I said to the owner, Trygve, "I want to live here"; to which he laughed and commented, "everyone says that." So in summation I guess the best I can say about the place is that I would be content to have my sunset there.

Then in early 2024, I needed hip replacement surgery. My wife has dementia, so I hired CFTH to take care of my wife, expecting to be able to come back home after 4 days in a skilled nursing facility. I had major setbacks and spent 2 full months in the hospital. Thankfully, I returned home to a wife that had been extraordinarily well cared for during my unexpected absence. At that point, I also needed a lot of care. It's two years later, and the team from CFTH is still taking excellent care of my wife and me. I am very grateful for Jackie and her team.

The dosing nurses are great, and the front office staff are kind, friendly, professional, and if you don't mind me saying... all QUITE BEAUTIFUL which makes the daily, early morning visit that much more pleasant. Having a drug dependency/addiction is no fun. MMT clinics are all required to follow strict protocol, and have strict rules patients must abide by - this clinic is no different in that aspect, but the atmosphere of the clinic and the attitude of the staff and patients is very positive here, which really matters, A LOT ! My only criticism is the high intake fee - and the higher than avg monthly cost which, if not for the staff, would have me looking elsewhere.

He listened to our situation, provided me with insight and contact information on the local facilities, explained what I needed to know, and what to consider when reaching out to these prospective places. His advice was invaluable. He was always there for me, whenever I had questions. He was super responsive, emailing back or calling right away. And through this process my mom kept changing her mind about where she wanted to live (mid-peninsula near her friends, south bay near me), and so our requirements kept changing. Through it all Alan was patient and positive - something I really needed during this stressful time. I seriously have no idea how I would have handled this whole situation without him. He wanted to die with dignity and that's just what he did, over a period of nine days, nine days filled with so much love that I think it'll keep us floating through the next decade. We are so grateful for the Tara Home Community for being a part of it-- for every prayer, blessing, chant, song, bedside sit, hand squeeze, meditation, hug, and offering of love. We found the staff at Watsonville Post Acute Care to be kind, cheerful and attentive. My husband got competent care, excellent PT and OT therapies. As a Kaiser Patient, we found the networking between the facility and assigned Kaiser Doctor challenging though. The one thing we were disappointed with was the food which wasn't very appetizing. I also found the Director of Nursing, his case manager and the rest of the administrative staff to be present and accessible. Overall, I think this facility was reasonably well run, had pleasant staff and the patients seemed to be happy and well cared for.
