We started on the trail but quickly lost it and so we headed back after a short hike. But the view of the falls and woods is beautiful so we enjoyed ourselves anyway. I guess we just got our timing wrong. As we got back to the car we found ourselves parked among many trucks with bow hunters. They were friendly and heading deeper into the property but we felt it was time to leave since we did not have any blaze orange on and our dogs were with us. I imagine spring is a better time to visit and I will check further before we visit again. There is no parking or entry fee, but there is a box for donations as you feel are appropriate.

We got to a crowded parking lot, and parked in one of the few empty spots. The walk to to waterfall overlook is easy if not a bit muddy. This is a pretty waterfall about twenty feet high. There are trails that take you around and down to the bottom of the falls. Nice spot to visit and take pictures. There are no restrooms or picnic areas, just the falls. I have to add social commentary here. We met about thirty people walking to and from the falls. The twenty something's walked by with their eyes firmly on the ground. The forty something's looked up and said hello back. The sixty somethings made eye contact, smiled and said a pleasant hello. Generational differences were apparent. Bottom line, this is a very pretty spot for a quick visit. Be respectful of the private property.

It's an all-inclusive playground, which means it's accessible for people of all abilities, which is great. It has a rubberized surface, and has lots of different playground equipment areas for all to enjoy. It's kind of part of the amusement park, but it's totally free and open to the public. This park has three zip lines! It also has musical instruments, wheelchair-accessible ramps up to the jungle gym, slides, swings, a merry-go-round with a zero-depth entry, and lots of other unique features that I had never seen on a playground before. Honestly, I've been to a lot of playgrounds, and this is one of the most inclusive playgrounds I've ever seen! Good job, Green Bay. One thing to note: There are no restrooms or water fountains at this playground. There is lots of parking, though.

We spent about two hours walking through the historical eras. Our favorite was spending time with the fur trader. We were each given the opportunity to throw a hatchet into a wooden block. He was quite interesting and you could tell he enjoyed his role. The "characters" explaining each structure really added to the experience and compelled the kids to actually retain a little something from the visit. The grounds themselves are beautiful and scenic to walk. They rent the facility for private events and it would be a great site to host a wedding if you could stay late enough into the evening. Lots of spots for wedding party photos. We enjoyed our visit and I am glad to have experienced Heritage Hill as an adult with my own children. It's not anywhere were likely to return to anytime soon but worthy of a first time historical & heritage visit if you find yourself in the Green Bay area looking to do something not Packers related.

We had been seeing this space across the river when out for walks on the Fox River State Trail…read more Late in the year, we finally drove across the bridge to see what this place had to offer. The park seemed spacious and had few visitors. There is a nice view of the river, space to roam, and some wildlife to see. Whoever is in charge of the park is taking down some large trees to our dismay. For balance, new trees have been planted which is heartening. Ashwaubomay is a place to explore if you've been to Voyageur Park and thought it was too crowded. After all, they both are on the shores of the same river. If I had my way, there would be more greenery especially between the water treatment facility.

This is by far, the worst swimming pool in the area. If I…read morecould give it a "0" I would. First, they do not allow life vests, or arm water wings for kids. The staff completely yelled at me for making sure my child was safe swimming in the water. They claim that their lifeguards would save a child if they were to drown. But yet, all the Staff, mostly men, were to busy hitting on the few girl lifeguards and sat around sun tanning the entire time, not once did they look toward the water to see if people were safe. And if my kid can't be safe, this place IS NOT SAFE. Second- the cost is crazy! $13.50 for two adults and a 6 yr. old. I would rather drive all the way out to Shawano Lake and would not have spent that much on gas. Third- No coolers allowed. Even the small lunch coolers are not allowed. They would rather you die of heat exhaustion and dehydration. And then charge $2 for a small bottle water at their "store" And last but not least, I personally witnessed a mother allowing her 8 yr. old son to pee in the sand! He came out of the water screaming he had to pee, so his mother told him to lay face down in the sand and pee in the sand. GROSS! DO NOT GO HERE!!!

But be smarter than me and put on bug spray! I got so many mosquito bites during my short stay. Granted, I visited right after it rained, so all of the little bug were out and looking for fresh blood. Along with mosquitos, I also saw wild turkeys! I was surprised and delighted to see them in the brush, but apparently wild turkeys are common around this area. I've never seen one in the wild, though! So to me, it was kind of cool. There's also an osprey nest on the grounds somewhere, but I never saw it. There are two ponds here, where you can go fishing, if you wish. If you don't wish to fish, you can feed the fish if you have a quarter: There's a fish food dispenser by the pond. Osprey Point is a nice little park to walk around and see some Wisconsin nature. Dear Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary you cruel heartless monsters. This is Baby Buddy, our beloved…read morepet that was forcibly ripped out if my arms by the cunt Neveah that is employed at your bullshit facility. A tip was left with the DNR that we had this amazing beautiful boy. They said we had to relinquish him or they were going to forcibly take him from our home. So we called you, and you told us that he would be released to the wild once he was rehabilitated. That or if he was too domesticated he'd be made an "ambassador" used for learning and educational purposes. In less than 72 hours you had him sent to his death for no reason. He was full of love, and trust. He gave no symptoms of rabies. And you murdered him in cold blood. HIS NAME WAS BUDDY AND HE WAS SO LOVED! There's no raccoon habitat for rehabilitation. It's an act and a script you feed desperate pet owners to gain their trust and take their loved coons to be murdered. He wasn't wild. He wasn't aggressive. And he wasn't rabid. He was a good boy. He was happy in his home. He was supposed to live a long life. You cut that life short at 5 months old. He was perfect. And you murdered him! To the Management and Administration of Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, I am writing to formally demand accountability and full transparency regarding the surrender and immediate euthanasia of our 5-month-old raccoon, Buddy. When we contacted your facility following communication with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, we were given clear assurances regarding his intake. We were explicitly told that Buddy would be evaluated for wild rehabilitation or, if found to be too habituated, retained as an educational ambassador. We entrusted him to your facility based directly on those representations. Instead, within less than 72 hours, Buddy was euthanized. He exhibited zero symptoms of illness, distress, or aggression, and was completely habituated and healthy. Given the stark contradiction between what your staff promised prior to intake and the outcome that immediately followed, I am demanding direct answers to the following questions: What specific diagnostic, behavioral, or medical criteria were used to authorize his immediate euthanasia within 72 hours? Why were options for educational placement or sanctuary transfer ruled out after explicit assurances were made that these were valid pathways? Is it standard policy at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary to assure surrendering individuals of rehabilitation or ambassador placement when immediate euthanasia is the intended intake protocol? The public and community members who turn to your organization in good faith deserve truthful communication about the actual protocols applied to surrendered animals. I expect a formal written response detailing the internal intake records, staff notes, and justification for Buddy's outcome. Alexandra Balthazor
