Apparently we just missed some altercation inside and then the person went into medical distress and then took off behind the restaurant. Our server and manager were super nice. We knew to be patient as they had just been through something. We ordered. And a family with two kids under 5yrs kids came in the booth beside us. This was strange as the restaurant was completely empty. Just us. Then the shitshow started again. Lady behind us was swearing and cursing. Kids in tow. We let it be as what was happening was beyond us. Decided to listen as she ran the poor server and her manager through the paces. Complaints and swearing everywhere. Her kids now asleep. Seemed odd as they seemed to be a nice family on vacation. The food should get zero stars. Very little thought put into the making of our meals and the low quality of ingredients. Processed cheese, canned chicken and bread ends for my sandwiches. How tough is it to cook frozen french fries properly? I had a bad stomach all the next day and was cursing this place. Might seem funny, but having to spend a day on my week long vacation nursing a bad stomach is no laughing matter.

As mentioned, we stopped specifically to get the restaurant's famous custardy ice cream, which can be ordered in either a cup or cone. While the list of options is limited (9 flavors), we were very happy with our choices of Silk Salted Caramel (husband) and Blonde Mint Chip. Some of the flavors would appeal to kids -- such as Bubble Gum or Cotton Candy. Single scoops were $5.95/double $7.95 (June, 2022). Milk shakes were also available for $8.95. The restaurant also offers burgers, chicken strips, hot dogs, a kids menu, coffee, beer, and cocktails. Ambiance. I believe that all seating is outdoors. The "patio" is a large wooden deck, with only Lakeshore Drive separating you from the lake. The tables are shaded by large umbrellas, and music is piped in from speakers around the deck. Orders are taken at a window, and pick up is at an adjacent window. The environment is beautiful, with the lake view and warm breezes (in June!). The only distraction was the music, in that it was being played a bit too loudly. The restaurant is adjacent to Lackawanna Park, with greenery and pretty plants and has clean rest rooms. Value. Prices were expensive, especially if you're feeding a family. But, that said, the restaurant is in a "prime real estate" area, and is open only seasonally. Lakeshore & Powell st. The service was attentive and at the end they gave us a tour of their cellar which made the night very memorable. As for the food and wine, everything tasted fantastic. We had ordered a flight of their Chronos Red Wines and Chronos White Wines - we preferred the Reds as they paired nicely with our food. My Peace Country Lamb ($60 - rack of lamb) had a lot of flavors and was nice and tender. And hubby's 12oz Ribeye ($78) was sooo good and juicy. The kids enjoyed their Carbonara ($34) and Warm Breads ($12 - pricey for bread though and they don't give you any comped ones to start). At the end of the night, we had brought an ice-cream cake but the staff told us it was "unsalvagable" (perhaps it melted?) so they comped us a variety of their desserts instead. The desserts (creme brulee, tiramisu, chocolate torte, olive oil cake) were OK - not standout but we appreciated the variety.

The service was exceptional, with the servers being around when needed but also giving us space to enjoy our meal. The food was exceptional. My wife had the chicken parmiagianna - which some at the table said it was the best chicken they had ever had. I had the Chinook salmon on a roasted tomato risotto. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. Along with the excellent wine selection, a highlight was the number of different unique non-alcoholic beverages, including a sparkling apple rhubarb drink, and a watermelon mint mocktail. Definitely will come back again!
