I've needed to write this review for a long time, because this has bothered me quite a bit. I used to take my pug there to have her toenails trimmed, but not anymore. Pugs are amazing dogs but are notorious for being very sensitive about anyone touching their feet, so she would cry and squirm a lot when her nails were getting trimmed. Wendy's daughter was always so sweet and welcoming. She would always tried to calm my pug and was gentle but firm. However, you could feel the irritation just roll off in waves from Wendy anytime we came through the door to have my dog's nails trimmed. I always felt I had to apologize for bringing my business to her. Her frustration was evident and it made the ordeal even worse for my pug. And unfortunately, it also wasn't unusual to see Wendy have to dab clotting powder on my pugs bleeding nails before she was finished, which made my pug dread those visits even more. Yes my dog was a cryer and a squirmed, but the worst retaliation she gave was to turn around and lick Wendy face when she got in range. If a groomer doesn't have the patience to deal with the quirks of a breed, perhaps she might want to change her profession. On my end, I changed groomers. I now go to a young women in Hampton who is gentle, patient and calm. Her quiet words and gentle handling have made what used to be an unendurable session a veritable breeze now, and it is amazing how much better my pug does with this professional. No more bleeding nails and a much happier pug and I know that she genuinely cares about my dog's experience and well being. read more

Terrible customer service, odd hours. I have had my two golden retrievers groomed here for a few years. I lost the appointment card they gave me in August this year and knew I had an appointment in November. I called six times and had to leave a message each time. No one ever called me back. I even stopped by several times to find out when the appt was. It was closed each time. Received a call today saying they wouldn't groom my dogs any more. Terrible service read more

We drive out of our way at this point, since we have moved, to bring our special guy to see Wendy and her staff. It is always worth the trip, as Wendy and her team do a wonderful job and treat every client with love and care. They listen to you and pay attention to detail. They're friendly, clean, knowledgeable, and very skillful in their craft. I have tried other groomers that were closer to where we now live, but none come close at all! read more

Took my dog here to get his nails cut, hair cut and a wash. They did not wash him at all. We sent him here because the place we usually go to is far and we just couldnt get there this time. He needed that bath bad. Well he came home smelling exactly as he did when we brought him to Wendys. We called a few times and left messages not one phone call back!!!! We paid them $70 for a haircut! Who charges $70 for a haitcut?!?!?! I'll never go here again and I advice other people to stay away. read more

When we first moved here Wendy took the time to read the notes from our previous groomer about how our dog likes his water warmed before he gets washed and how he likes you to talk to him. Yes, I know he's spoiled. It's usually really tough giving him a bath ourselves as he screams bloody murder. Wendy was great and patient with us and our dog. Visited Wendy's Lucky Paws for the first time yesterday. It will not be the last time. Wendy and her staff are amazing!! I have a 50lb Goldendoodle that has had bad experiences at the groomers. When I walked in, they asked questions about my pup and actually wrote notes on a card to keep in a file. I was impressed. Then one of the staff came over near us and sat in a chair and took her time trying to introduce herself to my dog and made him feel comfortable...when my dog was comfortable, she took him by his lead, talking to him and petting him the whole time. I am also very happy with the cut. They did a fantastic job. I won't go anywhere else any more...would highly recommend Wendy's Lucky Paws!! read more

I would give a negative zero stars if I could. They change the price on you each and every time you bring your dog to get groomed. Very unprofessional. The girl at the front is very rude and has an attitude problem and distorts her face if you ask her a question. I would not recommend this business to anybody to get treated like a piece of garbage when your a paying customer. read more

I recently moved into the Hampton-Seabrook area from Massachusetts. I tried a couple of groomers in the area and wasn't impressed at all. I was ready just to go back to my old dog groomer in Mass when I was told to make sure I went to Wendy's Lucky Paws. Long story short this is the best dog groomer I've ever been too!! Tobee gets very nervous with groomers, but had no issues here. I really believe Wendy treats each dog like a Bonsai Plant. The grooming was so detailed I was really in shock! If I ever move back to Mass I will positively make the drive back to NH each time Tobee needs to be groomed and bring him here to Wendy's Lucky Paws! I needed to get my dog trimmed up for the summer..I couldn't get him in at the regular place Ive taken him for the past 2 years. I should have just waited. I googled some local places and Wendys had great reviews. I walked in and made an appointment for my dog the next day. When I dropped him off I made one request..Please do NOT cut his goatee and the hair on his face...5 hours later when I picked him up, he was completely shaved, face and all. Groomer said she and the owner had a miscommunication Needless to say, I wasn't happy. The groomer said their was no charge but I said I'd pay to cover what was used,,shampoo, ect..then I was charged the full $40. I'm not one to bitch or cause a scene,,I paid and left. I've been to a few different places up in the Newburyport Area for pet grooming and I haven't been overly thrilled with any of them. Newbury Animal Hospital recommended Wendy's for my cat that was matting a ton at a pace I couldn't keep up with lol. I was impressed the minute I walked in. Clean, organized, great help. I like that they don't have a general drop off, as the groomers can be extremely stressful for animals. Nope, she had a scheduled time for my cat and was ready for her. It took just over an hour and I got a phone call to come pick my cat up. She looked great was very happy to be rid of her fur for the summer. Thanks ladies, you did a great job!
