I wish to start by clarifying that I am not going to remark on the service or quality of the food…read more They, in my experience, have been consistently excellent. Instead I wish to warn other patrons about the General Manager of this location, Steve. My niece has worked at this location for some time and I have heard some frankly heinous things about him. I see other reviews mention a manager yelling at his employees and she has clarified that this was him. As far as I can tell, he has managed this location for several years now, and I can only imagine that his only use to the Darden corporation is his efficiency in making money. My Niece, whom I will not name, has clarified that numerous, if not most of the employees working at this location have experienced some sort of verbal abuse by him. I think it is frankly disturbing that this man is allowed to have power over other people. I of course, cannot speak from personal experience, however I trust my Niece and I can put faith in the other reviewers; I believe Steve is an abusive general manager. I am frankly disappointed that this is the state of the world. That such an abusive man has authority over a restaurant employing largely teens and young adults. By the sounds of it, he subjects them to abuse tantamount to a fictional, evil corporation. Had I any position of power, I would fire Steve immediately. We should strive for a better world and future for all. Nobody should be subjected to working for a Steve. I hope the General Manager of the Lakewood Olive Garden can reflect and pivot away from his abusive behavior before he drives everyone away.
