I normally have lunch here and the front desk person always remembers my order with a smile and the staff is eager to please the customers. The space still has the old style character from when it was first opened. During lunch, the place is always packed. Now, I don't eat beef and I always get the prime breast chicken with onion, pickles, cheddar cheese, grilled jalapeños , tomatoes , and mustard. Most burgers come with French fries that are wonderful and the bun is great. I had to stop eating the fries and the bun because I was falling asleep at work. Now the catch here is that most burger places that serve chicken tend to taste like chicken cooked with beef flavor - not at burger express. The chicken tastes like charbroiled chicken without the beef aftertaste. So now I have the chicken burger that looks like more of a salad. They always are accommodating and every time, produces a nice burger that I completely enjoy. That and a bag of potato chips is enough to be filling and keep me awake at work. Cheers to burger express. The only thing I wished they would consider is the option to have red onions. That would take this burger to the next level.

He got the spicy chicken teriyaki, and I decided (against my better judgment) to try something different and ordered the cheesesteak instead of one of their burgers--which I already know are really good. I should've just stuck with that. The cheesesteak was okay. The meat was tender and the flavor wasn't bad, but it was really dry. By the time I got home, I had to add my own condiments just to make it more enjoyable. It just felt like something was missing. My husband wasn't impressed with the teriyaki either. I didn't try it myself, but he said it wasn't the best he's had and probably wouldn't order it from here again. One highlight though--the peanut butter banana milkshake was delicious. Their milkshakes are definitely a win. Overall, I'd say this place is still worth it, but stick to the burgers--they're what they do best.

This time, the behavior escalated into an unsafe situation. An employee physically grabbed an aluminum can from my hand, which resulted in many cuts. Not once was I asked to leave prior to this and if she would've said I needed to leave and to hand over the drink she had JUST served me, I absolutely would have. This did not happen. I have witnesses. The reason for the aggression was because I said out loud " I miss how this place used to be". Apparently that gave her the right to physically assault me. I had to contact law enforcement as a result of what occurred. The manager as well as the owner do nothing to protect the patrons that have spent thousands of dollars, but they will protect the abusive staff and not review video footage when patrons try to make a formal complaint. This situation, and many others, were not handled professionally. There appears to be a pattern of aggressive handling of customers, including frequent removals from the establishment under unclear circumstances.

Last week, my daughter and I ate at the Auburn Red Robin and it was honestly one of the dirtiest, most unpleasant restaurant experiences I've had, which led me to leave a very negative review. Because of that, I was hesitant to visit another Red Robin so soon, but I'm really glad we did. The Federal Way Commons location was extremely clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. Our food came out hot and fresh, and our server (Evan) was friendly, attentive and checked in on us regularly without being intrusive. The overall atmosphere felt calm and cared for, which made a huge difference. This visit restored my faith in the brand. It's clear that management and staff at this location take pride in what they do. Thank you to the Federal Way team for such a positive experience. Also, the reason we visit so many Red Robins is my daughter plays in the Special Olympics and when we have big breaks for lunch, that's her favorite place to go.
