I had been dreading my son's first dental appointment since the day he was born (an exaggeration,…read moreof course, but not far off). Made an appointment with Dr. Suzy after reading the favorable reviews on Yelp. Prior to the actual appointment, Dr. Suzy came out and spent time inquiring about my son's hygiene habits and even offered proactive tips. I was floored at how well the actual appointment and cleaning went. Sure, the five minutes felt like an hour as I held my son down while he whimpered, but Dr. Suzy and the hygienist sang the entire time while my son's nanny and I cheered him on. Afterward, he was rewarded with a balloon and life was good again. The woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly as well- introduced herself. She also helped me verify my out-of-network dental insurance benefits. Personal responsibility goes a long way, people!

I have BCBS of IL dental insurance (reputable, good coverage). The fact that the contracting with insurance and the leg work of insurance reimbursement is not handled by the office, but instead left to the patient, is in my opinion nothing short of a racket. I have not received reimbursement from my insurance and now it's my responsibility to call BCBS, sit on hold, wait for a reimbursement check. Hours of my time that should have been handled by the Grins administrative office. If you have money to flush down the toilet - this practice is great. If not - do not recommend. I will not be going back.

Dr Milin did a bonding on my tooth in the mid-90's when I was a grad student at Northwestern. I…read morehave lived in many cities since then and had many dentists. Without fail, every single dentist and hygienist admires my bonding and says they would never know the tooth was bonded, saying how the color and translucency are so natural. And it's lasted 22 years, a long time especially given that it's on an upper front tooth and I have Bruxism (grind/clench teeth, wear a mouthguard) Dr Milin's work was more than high quality- it has certainly passed the test of time. And beyond that, I recall him being simply a very kind and nice person. Thanks Dr Milin!

My family of 4 has been going to Dr Kenneth Milin since 1980…read more He is absolutely the best. First of all, he is the consummate technician; my recent implant is a work of art,. (In fact my family has over many years experienced only state of the art in all of his procedures). Case in point: Last Fall I went thru a very painful tooth extraction (hence the implant) . Once Dr.Milin got involved I was steered to the best team possible to get the tooth out, the surgery done to prepare for the implant (Oral surgeon Dr. David Barack in Skokie is great) and the final step, the tooth itself. Combined with his technical skills is his delightful chair side manner. He is totally focused on the patient .and is available 24/7 if you need him, as I did. He loves what does and it is clearly both his calling and his passion,

RED FLAG Tried to make an appt for me 3 year old and 14…read moremonth old. After giving all the information needed I was told "how this would work" which was a speech about how parents are not allowed in during the appointment and I'd have to wait in the waiting room. After saying how that seemed extremely odd and concerning since this is a medical appointment and I'm their parent I was told it was "no different than day care". We don't do daycare either not that this is even remotely the same. Sorry I'm not leaving my small tiny children who I already mentioned were nervous with a man I've never met. I was then told maybe they could arrange for me to "meet him first". There's something very strange or worse going on here. Please steer clear.

I called because our 7 yo has ever never been to the dentist, everytime we made an appointment he was terrified. I think he has a cavity. I asked basic questions, explained it was our first time etc. The receptionist, Cassidy, that I spoke to before 10a on July 28th - rudely asked "Why hasn't you taken him to the dentist?" She asked about my insurance, maybe she assumed we didn't have any - and said it would "need to be paid upfront." Ok. I also see that they have the child in the room alone - no parents, which I expressed that this is not something we would ever do ; I've seen other reviews mention this, as did other mom friends, and even they seem to think it unnecessary and strange. She was rude, unprofessional, lacks decorum - and I told her this ; she then hung up on me. I called back, since I had asked for the spelling of her name and manager's name as this was happening - Amanda would be in on Monday I was told after I called back after she hung up. I could care less what your personal opinion may be, have some tact, be courteous - I will never bring my child here, and be sure to tell every mother in my area and the PTA about this prejudiced and unacceptable interaction. I've never called an establishment for preliminary information and questions as a potential customer and been treated this way. It's odd. I would reconsider who you have as the face of your business, as customer interaction is key.

I've seen a variety of measures in dental offices and I felt really safe in their practice. - Laura and other front desk staff are so organized and efficient, and communication has been super easy. They really make a big difference to keep things running smoothly. - Dr Simon and her assistance are great. Dr Simon is fast doing the dental procedures and her assistance works seamlessly with her, which works so great for the short focus span for kids. Unlike our last dentist, Dr Simon doesn't put on anesthesia and walk away. She stayed with us the whole time in every visit, which made things go faster and helps my son stay calm in a stable environment. - Genuinely nice and caring people. As first time parent I certainly was not prepared for how bumpy the kid dental visits can be. All the people mentioned above gave us so much encouragement and support throughout! - Last and so importantly, most of our appointments were right on time, and for only once we had to wait for 15min. All in all, highly recommend!

In the beginning they were scared to go to the dentist but after the first couple of visits they felt more and more comfortable because everyone there was so welcoming and kind. I would definitely recommend them!
