However, I always say my body is a non-conformist so he always has his work cut out for him when I show up!! I have been through 10 sessions of rolfing with him ~ best thing I could have ever done for my body!~ and I have continued to see Justus on a regular basis. One of the best things about Justus is that he is very intuitive. He has the ability, like no other body worker I have been to, to find the trouble spots and work those to the surface. He truly does have healing hands!! Justus and his wife Tammy have created a genuinely calm and relaxing atmosphere at Sanctuary Massage and Body Work. I cannot give a greater recommendation!!!

My aching back really appreciated that great customer service. The location is homey and the studio I was in was spacious with a nicely appointed sitting area. The massage table was comfortable and had an awesome armrest under the headrest that I'd never seen before. My massage therapist Kara was wonderful. She was easy to talk to and I was quickly able to communicate where the worst of my knots were. An hour was nowhere near enough to untangle me, but she was able to hit every major problem area I had asked for and she showed me a couple knots I didn't know I had! Had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. 5 stars. Thanks again.

Kelsey is wonderful!!! She has become an absolute angel during my pregnancy. Even though we live in…read moreSan Francisco, she is totally worth traveling across the bridge for my near-weekly prenatal massages. It's easy to get to from the freeway, and parking is super easy (except on Thursdays from 12:30-3:30 - street cleaning). She is so affordable that it really enables almost anyone to incorporate massage into their lives on a regular basis instead of sporadically. However! Don't let her rates fool you. This is a woman who is dedicated to the practice and lives accordingly; she is affordable because she believes that money shouldn't be the issue keeping people from taking care of themselves! She is strong and soft in all the right places and at all the right times. She really takes her time going deeper and staying longer in the areas that need more attention, and her intuition as to where these places are is spot on! Additionally, I never feel rushed or hurried to leave as I have with other therapists that practice out of their home. After such a short time together she has completely gotten in tune with my body. This past week I left her place feeling like I was glowing and vibrating and could peacefully and gracefully accept any experience that came up, from the stresses of daily city living to the intensity of birth. She has such a beautiful energy, too. I always feel listened to when we check in before the massage, and she does just the right amount of checking in during, without any unnecessary chatting. I truly look forward to our time together and really want to encourage you to take advantage of her amazing hands and energy before she starts getting booked up months in advance! ps - i'm reposting the same review because my last one was filtered and shouldn't have been.

She is low-key, her studio is peaceful, and her hands are magical. The massage usually starts off with medical questions and areas that I would like worked on more than others. I have had maybe 8 or 9 professional massages in the past 10 years, and I have left every one feeling disappointed. Even when the massage therapist came highly recommended, I just never got what I wanted out of the experience. It was always like, what's all this hype about? So when I booked my first appointment with Mary, I was skeptical to say the least. To my unending delight, I can report that Mary truly delivers! By the end I felt so relaxed it almost felt like I'd been drugged. So amazing! I'd told every other massage therapist that I like a lot of pressure, but always felt like they continued to hold back. Not Mary! She's a master! Today I went for the acupuncture/massage combo as a little due date gift to myself, and man, I feel better than I've felt in ages. I had no idea I could feel so great at 40 weeks pregnant! Mary also is a fabulous listener and gives great feedback. Her positive energy was probably as effective as her treatments in helping me relax and embrace the end of pregnancy (which is such a difficult time for so many women). I walked in with so much anxiety and now I feel supercharged and zen at the same time. Thank you, Mary!
