First time using a KOA for more than just their trailer dumping. No tent or trailer but we did use their pet friendly cabins as an overnight on our long journey. Staff was really on top of contacting us about check in and letting us know if they'd be gone by the time we arrived. They were very friendly and attentive. Bathrooms were super clean. The grounds were clean and tidy. Funky location behind one of the peppermills but it served us perfectly for what we needed. The cabins have super strong latches on the screen doors to keep pets in which was awesome. Beds are bring your own sheets, but surprisingly comfortable. Genuinely the only downside was at no fault of the KOA, we got woken up by a train before dawn even cracked. Otherwise it was a great experience. Would come back! read more

We have stayed at this KOA several times. We have a need for the 50 amp power for our Motorhome, and this facility only has 6 spots that can accommodate that need. They can be fairly busy on weekends and during events, so reservations are needed to secure the 50 amp service. They have online booking capabilities, and KOA offers discounts if you are a member. But overall, KOA pricing can run a bit higher than other smaller, locally run RV parks. There are not too many options in Wendover, so we take what we can get. The park is located behind the Red Garter casino, downhill to the south. If you don't mind walking, you can access the casinos nearby and then shuttle between them rather than driving your car. The facilities have full service bathrooms, a laundry room, playground, swimming pool, and a small general store. If you want to stay onsite while visiting, the amenities are adequate to accommodate. read more

We stopped here because they had cabins and we were not going to set up tents in the rain again. Excellent restrooms, showers and laundry facilities. Updated and spotless. The ladies in the office are so sweet and accommodating. They keep the store and community space spotless. Definitely a desert area. Everything is diet and gravel. Hook ups include power and water. No sewer. Dump station available for $15. Cabins have no water or restrooms. Just beds, air conditioning or heater. Very clean and quiet. Expensive for no internal restroom. $80 a night. read more

So, the photos here are accurate depictions as well in Aug 2022. The office is very friendly and took our reservation over the phone with the clarity that same day reservations had no refunds if a "no-show".. done in a friendly manner and expected that. I'd seen some marginal reviews so wasn't surprised with all the rocks, no grass etc.. However the tiny cage for a "Dog park" was a bit sad and my pup couldn't go play as the the owners of the other two dogs inside said theirs were aggressive.. there is a ball park across the way we could let ours run free if not for practice happening on the fields. I do appreciate the friendliness of the ladies in the office as we arrived tired and frazzled. The restrooms seemed clean. I didn't check the showers. We diid not have sewer hook ups but slept and left pretty much. The things i did NOT like were, our spot and seemed to be ONLY our spot was directly under a big bright light.. it was awful trying to sleep under this light in a tiny airstream as the slightest glare resonates throughout the entire inside.. even duct taping a garbage bag over the frosted window did NOT resolve this super bright light.. The light also shined on us trying to eat at 9 pm as it seemed "EVERYONE" walked right by us in the only open space to/from the restrooms/showers next door. My boys were uncomfortable and I have to say it really was a LOT of traffic through the adjacent campsite and every passing included a stare our way.. hard in a tiny trailer where you have to sit outside to dine. It was uncomfortable. Would I plan this as a stop? NO!! Would I stay again, well, maybe and probably as if this is the location you need to land for the night, not a lot of options. We did feel safe here, just not comfortable. I would definitely make sure we weren't under a bright light again. read more

A KOA campground that gets the job done. Facilities were well maintained and the staff was friendly. I'm guessing it's due to the desert climate but the extremely sharp thornballs were everywhere from the trees. It popped my son's bike tires. No fault of the campground (it's honestly mine), just be careful trying to ride a bike or wear open toed shoes. Conveniently located right next to a variety of casinos. Okay, well here it goes! Arrived just as they (the store) was closing, was smiled at and was told "you made it just in time". (I had made reservations over the phone). The nice lady explained how to get to our site and the pass code for the restrooms and was told to have a good evening. Got to our site, the picnic table is falling apart and the BBQ/fire pit (all in one ground level) had coals and pieces of burnt logs in it. The ground was dirt with hardly any gravel left on it. Looked around at the campground and noticed the other picnic tables were not nicely placed at the camp sites. We walked to one of the casinos to eat. There are several lights in the campground and they seem to be placed right at the actual camp sites, good thing I have black out curtains for our van. Next morning got up and headed to the showers. The bathroom sinks do not have any kind of stopper in the bottom of them so if while you are washing your hands and your ring comes off, you are out of luck, down the drain it goes! Headed to the much needed shower which they are in a hallway which has access to either bathroom, mens & women's, Meaning you can go from the womens bathroom into the mens bathroom and visa versa. The shower rooms do have locking doors, thank goodness, but the shower curtain is not wide enough to completely span from one side to the other side of the opening UNLESS you stand there and hold it stretched out. The store area was fairly large but not a lot of shelving with supplies, appeared to be a large empty space. The tent sites are towards the back along the property line fence, and one of the privacy fences appeared to be weakened and leaning. The cabins are clumped together and out by the main road (Camper Rd) directly across from a ball field that sits across the street. When we arrived there was some kind of Mexican celebration going on just down the street with very loud Music & DJ, I know this wasn't controllable by the campground but the appearance of the campground was! It's an okay place to stop, sleep and go, maybe. Next time we will find a place to disperse camp for the night. I gave it 2 stars because...well, after the music down the street stopped it was pretty quiet. read more

First KOA to have an odd way of getting campers into lots. This is not a busy KOA by all means. There were many lots available and you would think they would space out folks when possible. Not the case here. We were placed next to this cool family, but was it really necessary? At first I thought there would be other RVers coming in afterwards but no one showed up. Ridiculous. Camping in a RV park is nothing like boondocking, I get that. Why not show some effort spacing out folks when you have the power to do so. Glad we stayed for just a night. The only positives are you are in reach of the casinos and gas stations. I'd say it's great for an overnighter or short stay. read more

This is just a place to park for a short stay. Entire lot is gravel which is fine except no defining marks of what is road or what is a site. You just wing it. Surrounding permanent units were in their own section, but have a fairly worn down look to them. Our sewer erupted when we went to empty, CG sent a guy over with bleach to pour on the offending mess that we hosed down as best as possible. It's the only gig in town, but I wouldn't write home to grandma singing it's praises. Staff is nice, store has a good variety. 40', 4 slides MH pulling a 14' enclosed trailer. Pull thru 30amp. Convenient location. As KOAs go, this one was "okay". The location was excellent. The WiFi worked but there was NO Internet on the other end. We used our phones instead. This is a 100% gravel campground. Normal for the area. Just be aware (dusty in the wind). We stayed in 1 of only a handful of 50 amp FHU sites. This is the second time we have stayed while driving cross country at this KOA. Each time the girl at the front desk is having problems with the computer, or can't figure. We waited over 25 minutes for propane until the propane person came. Girl at the front desk three times was rude, not even get a sorry it's taking so long. She just said "ya ya". When we told her we have been waiting out here a long time. I will say that the guy who finally showed up for the propane was very very polite professional and nice. We stay at a lot of KOA's. This is about the only decent choice for a campground in the Wendover/West Wendover area and all the way to Wells going West or the Salt Lake City area going East. Some do dry camp at the casinos, but yesterday it was 91 degrees and we wanted hookups. It seems most agree, since the campground was very full by dinnertime and the two close casinos had only about 10 dry campers between them when I walked up and looked. They only have 6 50AMP sites, but have lots of 30AMP sites and ours was a full hookup pull-thru that cost us almost $45. The sites are dirt with small trees and nothing special. They do charge as if they are special, but since they were mostly full I can't complain too much. The wifi was overloaded, but both Verizon and AT&T worked. read more

If you're reading this to book a reservation...RUN! My BFF and I have been to several KOA; California, Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada. We've been accustomed to WIFI, cable, water, electric, K9 area. Upon arrival to Wendover KOA at 2-3ish in the afternoon a note was posted the Office/Gift Shop is closed and will return at 4pm, and there is no water. Promptly at 4pm, we make our way to the Office to verify the water situation. The host/cashier informed my BFF there is no water, the host/cashier proceeded to ask do you still want to stay? We looked at each other with a, did-she-really-just-say-what-she-just-said face. It's not what she said, it was how she said it, in other words she lacked customer service. My BFF answered, we'll stay. I asked about WIFI, hoping to get the password for it; she informed the host/staff WIFI is limited to the office/general store and front lobby area. You should stipulate that on your website. Her response, "You don't have to stay here". WOW! Just WOW! We were disappointed with her customer service skills or lack thereof. I would definitely NOT recommend this KOA or return. read more

This park is definitely not a destination KOA. There are minimal trees, the gravel paths need replaced in many areas. No activities to be seen except for the pool. The do have propane if needed which is a bonus. The staff was very pleasant when we arrived but explained that the WIFI was only available in the lobby and the store area which was extremely inconvenient. Dining options are within walking distance which is good, bathrooms were clean but the showers were in a hallway not connected to the bathrooms which was weird. I have alot of good things to say about KOA's However, I wasn't really impressed by this campground. The amenities are ok however there was a community racing event in the area that increased the prices needless to say, but there are alot of people here as a result to get ready for the event. I needed to do some laundry and although they had laundry facilities, 3 or 4 of the washers were out of service and there was something already done in the washers just sitting in the others. We are on the way home and just stopped for the night. KOA's are extremely convenient but I have been to better ones. Not impressed by this one. read more

The pool is pretty good, and the showers are great. The WiFi, though, doesn't reach up to the cabin area. The cabins are placed far from the bathrooms and all the amenities I come to a KOA to use. Seeing that one pays as much to stay in a cabin here as it costs to stay in a hotel room, they need to step it up. We could have picked up two rooms 100 yards away at the Rainbow Hotel and Casino for $39 each. Virtually the same total price as a two-room cabin here ($76), but with no long walk to the bathroom. read more

Due to a change in our travel plans, we ended up driving along I-80 and stopped in Wendover for the night. We only stayed overnight and I am not sure I would have wanted to stay longer. The RV park was very empty during our stay, only six other RVs were onsite that night. The space we stay at was quiet, not near other RVs, and offered full hookups. The WiFi did not function well. Wendover is a dusty, rocky, desert place and this campground is not hiding this. There was no grass anywhere and the gravel throughout the campground did not throw much dust around. The playground was excellent; our kids play in it for a long time. The pool was closed for the winter and the store looked sparse. I would have giving our stay three stars, but this is the second most expensive RV park I have ever stayed. Our stay should have been $30-35 per night, but we paid $48! The resort that I paid more for had many more amenities. I could not help feel we were being charged higher because they were the only campground for *miles*. Would I recommend this park? We were woken up numerous time during the night to the sounds of loud train horns. Turns out the train tracks are not far from the RV park. I would guess that you would even hear the trains from all the hotels too. We should have checked google aerial maps before making this city our designation. So take your ear-plugs or be ready for a long noisy night. All sites are gravel. Park is clean. Stayed couple of nights in January 2018 and had the whole place to ourselves. read more

Stayed here for one night in May of 2019. I'd stayed here before with a tent, this time with an RV. Location is good for a quick on/off of the interstate. Restrooms are decent and clean. The casino nextdoor definitely inspired us to figure out the window coverings for the RV, since the lights were on all night, and fairly bright. One other annoyance that isn't under anyone's control is the freaking birds that chirped on and off all night in the tree next to the RV. Went there a couple of nights ago, after hours (I think they might close at 8pm). Could not figure out their map on the door of what sites were sold or reserved. So we picked one that looked quite safe and nowhere near anyone else's and put the form and our credit card number in their box. At about 1130pm, someone came to our spot with a huge RV and started setting up. We asked them if we should move and they said not to worry, stay put. I ended up helping them set up since I was now fully awake. I called the KOA the next day and said I could not figure out their map and apologized. They said the map was really not that hard for anyone else. Today I called them to set up a reservation for tonite. The gal at the counter told me that I should be quite aware that if I were to pay for it, I would not be refunded if we did not show. I told her that I understood, that we were there a few days ago and wanted to avoid figuring out their map on the door, since they close their office quite early. She said, "Oh you are the guys that caused all that trouble last week. The other camper refused to pay because of you". After that call, we decided to stay at Angel Lakes RV in Wells, NV. Their price is less and there is someone there to help you 24/7. Fabulous internet and great welcome here. Thanks for being hostile KOA Wendover. We found a much better place to stay when traversing I-80. read more

We could not use the facilities due to the coronavirus. We called as soon as our trip was cancelled (every other facility gave us a full refund). The "manager" said the credit card company charged the KOA a fee and she was passing that fee onto us. I told her that was false and she became nasty. I hung up and called my credit card company. The credit card company stated that their was no fee and the KOA would not be charged anything. Do not trust this place. read more

Took a two week trip from slc to Lake Tahoe. Decided to stay last night in Wendover r.v. Park . Place is very old and unkept . Priciest place we stayed the whole trip. We stayed here on a family road trip from California to Dinosaur National Monument. The bathroom/showers were the best of the KOA's we stayed in. The staff was nice. The Pool was nice. However, the tent sites were full of flies, and kept the heat through the whole night. The lights from the casino's shine into the tent spots. While I didn't mind it, the rest of my family found the train extremely loud. We camped all over the desert on our trip, and the campsites were the worst of any place we stayed at. We stayed in August, 2012. If I was in an RV I would stay there again. read more

Let me start by saying that "Lori" at the front desk is a gem! So sweet & friendly. She made our original reservation & was so accommodating. Upon arrival the campground was entirely empty--we were the only rig until later that afternoon--so it's not like the office was stressed due to overwork. The manager, LUCY PEREZ, made us aware of a change in our site assignment upon our arrival. We understand changes need to be made sometimes but LUCY was so rude about it. Could have been done in much more customer friendly way. She raised her voice at us, as well as the other staff person trying to help, while giving us instructions. Lucy asked us to choose a site out of several & call the office with our site #. My call to the local # & the 800 number both went to VM. I left the info & requested a return call to my cell for other info. Never did get a response from MS. LUCY! This was our very 1st experience using KOA in our travels as choices in Wendover were very limited. Have to say, thanks to LUCY we probably will not use KOA in the future. The company might be wize to consider hiring more personalities similar to Lori & re-train those LUCYs they have! read more

They made sure that I got a very level site to simplify my set-up for the night and as close as possible to the restrooms. Very basic facility, but very clean. Fairly wide drives and spaces but they really need to tell a person which direction to go. We had one of the first and the direction they gave to get into it required a 110 degree turn because they had us coming from the wrong direction. If we had been towing a car, we would not have been able to make the turn. Our space was not really level and the jacks had to work over time. The rear of the coach was up a foot higher than usual. We could not get the cable TV to work. Maybe we had a space with a dead wire. Water, sewer and power all worked OK. The drives and parking spots are all gravel. Nice pool. The dog run is in one corner so if you have a dog you might want to park close to it, the park is pretty big. It was OK but nothing to get excited about. Good for a one night stop. read more
