We had a great experience here tonight! They saw us very quickly and then called in a prescription. Very efficient and caring staff!

Ridiculous times front end certain staff are a joke . Not enough providers and inaccurate wait times that they tell you . 30-1hr means 3+

Had been due in June for my regular 3 month checkup, which ended up being today, Sept 6. This was after driving down there and leaving my info in order to get appointment twice. Was informed 5 mins after appointment time that there was no doctor . Poor woman doing intake was working alone, running back and forth, apologizing to all and doing the best she can. It's not just me, and it's not rare. It's the norm. The other clinic on west side is even worse. They tell us not to go to urgent care or ER, but after a certain amount of time medical issues become urgent or an emergency.

The workers were for the most part fine but one lady, in registration, kind of ignored me for a while, told me to wait, went outside to chit-chat with a different receptionist, and then came back to help me. The nurse I spoke with mixed up the place where I work with the place where I wanted my medications to be sent so the nurse practitioner, who I ended up seeing afterward, ended up sending my script to the place of my employment, which happens to take prescriptions as well, rather than the place where I actually get my prescriptions filled. So that was very annoying and unprofessional.

I'm not sure where the negative results are coming from. I have had no issues in my years with CNY…read moreFamily. They have been welcoming and empathic. Dr. Tarala makes you feel as you are part of a family and is willing to sit down and talk about any concerns. I have also seen Dr. Fiacco, he also a wonderful person and a great doctor. I have never waited as long as 30 minutes. However, I think that Upstate has been spoiled in that there usually are not waits. When I lived down state, I always brought a book with me, because I knew I would be waiting for some time. In the end, they are truly wonderful family doctors.

I had been a patient of CNY Family Care for 13 years and they just dropped me claiming I had been…read more"consistently disruptive of staff" - which is simply not true. Let me tell it how it is - this place has too many patients and every Dr I have ever seen here needs sensitivity training and improvement on bedside manner. I was in a traumatic near-death accident in January 2024 and saw Dr. Malvasi as a follow up to being in the emergency room for hypothermia and he was honestly great and compassionate - but wanted me to see MY PCP Dr Clapper like a week later. I was bruised from head to toe still from my accident at that point, and I had questions about my lack of sensation in my legs, feet, arms and hands. I had to explain to the nurse what happened and what I was there for. In walks Dr Clapper - OMG WHAT HAPPENED? why wasn't she prepared? Why did I have to relive my trauma AGAIN when all of this should have been in notes reviewed before walking into the room. At this time, I requested to be moved to Dr. Malvasi's care because he had seemed so compassionate after my accident. My following experiences with Dr. Malvasi were less than ideal - I gained weight due to my depression and PTSD and when I saw him again he asked how I was doing and I said it had been a tough winter - HE LAUGHED and said I CAN SEE THAT BY HOW MUCH WEIGHT YOU GAINED! Real professional. Also, knowing that I had been in an abusive relationship and had difficulty with men - he thought it was also appropriate to make jokes every time I saw him asking if I was dating again yet. Not funny. The last two times I saw Dr Malvasi I requested a specific course of treatment. He said we could discuss that further in 3 months if I did xyz. I did xyz and went back at 3 months and was told CNYFC had new policy for this treatment and to do xyz and come back in 3 months. Right before my next 3 month appointment I received notification that CNYFC would no longer be working with the treatment at all - even though I had been doing what I was told for the last 6 months to receive this treatment. I sent a disgruntled response to the portal and the response I received was that I didn't know what I was talking about and "good luck finding a new pcp". So one time I disagreed with their practices and expressed it and they dropped me like it was nothing stating "consistently disruptive to staff". So a one time expression of dissatisfaction is "consistently disruptive"? Also Dr Malvasi asked at both 3 month follow ups if I was dating yet - still not funny. I really have found in life that when situations like this arise, comparable to being fired from a terrible employer, move on to bigger and better things. I'll find a dr office that doesn't turn people over like an assembly line and actually knows the appropriate way to communicate with patients. Btw I found a new primary care and had an appointment scheduled in less than a week. CNY family care thinks they can treat people like crap as if there are no other physicians around. Read the other reviews - my experience is not unique - and there are plenty of better offices to go to than this one.

I had a cut on my finger that needed stitches, but I'm very afraid of needles. I was crying and sweating while the PA sewed me up. The nurse however just stood next to me and talked nonstop which was very annoying. I wanted to tell her to read the room and shut up, but instead I asked her to get me some water just so I could have some silence. Another time I was there I noticed that the room was filthy. The PA/NP was very nice but seemed rushed or possibly bothered by all of the screaming kids in the next room that sounded like they were breaking stuff. We got all of 15 minutes with the provider, before she wished us well, and said goodbye. My daughter liked her, and thought she was fun. I just felt bad for her. It seems like an awful place to work.

We took him here and they had no flu tests which was fine so they did a respiratory panel. His symptoms started the day before yesterday. This office never called us back with any results, disregarded any symptoms he had because his fever had broken while he was there and they were simply rude. It wasn't a busy day in the clinic. We were the only ones there. This was extremely unprofessional and unethical. We left the clinic and got a rapid test. And it came back positive for flu A within 2 minutes. We had to call his pediatrician for medication and they were nice enough to prescribe it. After this still never heard anything back from the testing they ran. And it is currently the next day and we still haven't heard anything from them. This office was extremely unprofessional. We will not go back. This flu season is a harsh one. Little ones are significantly more likely to have harsher side effects. Why would you wait when there is a medication to help. We could have easily missed the window for tamiflu had we not just gotten a test ourselves.
