I was upset when I realized this. Dr. Federico stated he didn't know why she put me on it because my thyroid was just a bit off. It is now better via changing my diet. I haven't had any issues with him. He doesn't pressure you to take an rx. I don't want to find myself on six rxs, so he honors that. The staff in the office are great too. I usually don't have to wait long once I'm there. The only issue is they don't have enough staff to answer the phones, so you won't likely get a person on the phone. You have to leave a message. I'm assuming because their costs are lower they can't afford to have the additional reception staff to handle the phones. I just go in person and make my next appointment while I'm there. I'm not a sickly person who has to run to the doctor often, so Compassionate Care works good for me. Having Saturday hours is a major plus. I will continue to keep going.

I have been a patient here for over 11 years and I can honestly say that I have been completely…read morehappy with the care that I have received here, both from the medical and office staff. I mostly go to the N. Syracuse office, but have had occasion to visit both the Fayetteville and James St. locations as well. In all three cases, the waiting areas are comfortable and the office staff I have encountered has been friendly (if a rushed) at times. And any calls I have made to the nurses' line have been connected quickly and those nurses are wonderful to talk to. I have seen three practitioners over the years, Dr. Kavety being my main provider. She is young, no nonsense, and you can tell she keeps up to date in her field. I've also seen two of the nurse-midwives, Jane Fields and Elaine Mielcarski. In all three cases, they are compassionate, careful, considerate, and non-judgmental. They have always given me options for my care, and are happy to discuss any questions I might have. Dr. Kavety has also been happy to help with me non-gyno issues - such as smoking cessation and cholesterol checks. She really is awesome. Going to the gyno is never something that one looks forward to - but it's as good as it gets here. They ARE a busy practice, and with good reason. I can't speak to their obstetric care, but as a healthy young woman, this practice has been great fit.
