I'm 55 years old and Dr Wellner has been my Dr most of my adult life. my dr is a throwback to a time when integrity, competence and empathy where the most important criteria for a Dr. while his bedside care may be a throwback to a different time, his treatment methods are thoroughly modern sons rare case of really getting the best of both worlds. If you're looking for a new and modern doctor's office where you don't have to wait ever, this is NOT the place to go! If you are looking for a PCP that gets the diagnosis right the first time and doesn't waste your time with subsequent visits to try and solve the same issue, then Dr. Wellner is the ONE to see! I've been going to Dr. Wellner since 2012. I've never had a lot of faith in Primary Care Physicians and was reluctant to even find another PCP since I see a PCP 3-4 times a year tops, eat pretty well, and workout regularly. Dr. Wellner is fantastic! He spends plenty of time with me, explains everything very well, and has diagnosed / treated a few issues that area SPECIALISTS (not PCPs) have gotten wrong. Recently, I was treated for Lung Cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering in West Harrison NY. Never smoked a day in my life. MSK is supposedly one of the "best" cancer institutions in the county, yet they missed so much. Forgot to Rx me meds after Chemo, claimed I just had Esophagitis for 6 weeks when it was really that plus Acute Kidney Failure, a potentially life threatening DVT and Pulmonary Embolisms. Was hospitalized for 6 days thanks to them not equating my complaints for 6 weeks of Chest Pain, Dizziness, and Shortness of Breath with anything serious. MSK added 15 medications! to my original 5 med Cancer Tx protocol bc they couldn't figure anything out instead of admitting "we just don't know." Their arrogance and dismissive attitude was beyond frustrating. My point here is I called Dr. Wellner to treat my persistent 5 week cough (that MSK threw more useless meds at, refused to Rx me an inhaler, forgot to call in a cough suppressant to the Pharmacy-total lack of follow through). Wellner got it right the first time where this overated Cancer institution failed yet again.. Also, Dr. Wellner even charged me a substantially reduced cash pay rate for two office visits when my company switched insurance plans years ago to one he did not accept. I never had a bad experience like some of the other people have. I always WORK WITH the doctors and not against them. Dr. Wellner LISTENS and works with me every time. Whereas the Cancer Cattle Call Center overbooked MSK thinks they know everything, fails to LISTEN to key symptoms (like Chest Pain, Dizziness, and SOB for 5 weeks) and says further testing isn't necessary. read more

Dr. Murray Wellner is borderline evil. I had a very minor stomach ailment, which in 30 seconds on a rushed day he misdiagnosed as what would have been a lifechanging disease. He did not state his diagnosis as "There are a few potential possibilities that we need to investigate" and instead used words like "This proves that." Nobody who follows the scientific method speaks like that. Repeated follow up tests elsewhere showed no evidence for his diagnosis but Dr. Wellner stuck with original assessment. Luckily I found a doctor who researches at Harvard who looked the tests over and said, "Your doctor has no idea what he is talking about." I am so grateful for good doctors. I hope Dr. Wellner goes out of business. read more

Agreed. All of the doctors that have practiced there seem to be able to diagnose you in a moment.

Dr. Wellner should not be in practice. He rushes threw your appointment. It almost seems to be more of a bother that you are there in the first place. He reputation proceeds hi, goggle him. He charges your insurance company tons of money for unnecessary tests. You have been warned stay away. read more

Dr Wellner does a good job! His lobby is always full so that must say something.. although once you have to sit in there you will probably be even sicker as it is probably a cess pool for germs. read more

If Dr. Wellner could have a drive-through he would. Appointments are completely rushed with the intention on getting you out ASAP without regard for well being or what's in the patient's best interest. Meds are prescribed on a 30 day basis and won't refill unless an office visit is made, although he will tell you in his office just a phone call is all you need. Seems to me he is trying to maximize his income before retirement at the patient's expense. Google him, he's been in trouble for shady practices, go elsewhere! read more
