Review Update May 14, 2026: I am updating my review today…read morebecause Steve's Plumbing has honored their customer satisfaction guarantee and issued a refund. Additionally they also changed their misleading ads on their new website which was my main complaint. I appreciate their efforts to do the right thing --not all companies do this. I did not have an issue with the plumbing service I received. In fact, it was very good. The online booking process was easy and the technician did a good job. Original Review: BUYER BEWARE: This company has false advertising and misleading pricing on their website. It's classic 'Bait and Switch.' Do your research on BBB before booking with this company! I wish I had.

Called to have a plumber come check on a leak in our garage. I assumed it was the water heater,…read morebecause it was the only thing in the garage. The plumber didn't look at anything other than the water heater and stated it needs to be replaced. He quoted a price that made me swear immediately. I apologized as it was out of character, he said it was ok, but the water heater needed to be replaced and it was up to me. I told him if it needs to, I don't have any options, do what he needs to. As he was removing the water heater, I pointed out the areas there was water and I didn't think it came from the water heater as the water heater would have been spraying water in order to get that far. The plumber stated he has been doing this for over 20 years and he knows what he is doing. After the water heater was removed, he said it needed to drain. He left and came back about a hour later, the water heater dripped really slowly the entire time he was gone. I mentioned that if there was a hole in the water heater, wouldn't air go through the hole and help the water drain from the spigot faster. He stated that I didn't understand the science of it and that the hole closes when disconnected from the water because there is no longer presser. He completed the replacement and left. I swept out all the water from the garage and didn't think much of it. I checked on the garage the next day and the garage was full of water again. I called Steve's Plumbing and the same guy came out. He said that he needed to do an inspection of the house to find out where the leak was coming from, he said before he did, it would cost so much per hour to look for the leak. I told that's what he supposed to have done before, but he didn't look at anything other than the water heater and stated it needed to be replaced. He said it was my fault and that he didn't look for a leak because it was the water heater, I reminded him that I said their is leak in the garage which we needed him to look at and the only thing directly connected to water was the water heater. He repeated it was his fault, it was mine. I asked him to leave and stated at me and refused. Only after telling him he needed to leave the property or I would call the police because he wasn't welcomed, he finally left. I called another company, it turns out there was a pipe broke in the wall. The plumber explained all things Steve's Plumbing should have done to ensure the issue was corrected, more specially, checking the water pressure before work started and checking the water pressure when the job was complete to ensure the issue had been resolved. They also explained that we paid way too much replacing a water heater (which didn't need to be replaced). I'll never use Steve's Plumbing again.

After doing some troubleshooting on my own--changing toilet parts, checking the irrigation system, and investigating other possible causes--we narrowed the issue down to the main water line. John responded immediately, told me he could send someone out the same day, and even gave me a one-hour arrival window. Based on the information I provided, he was able to give me a quote before anyone even came out, which I really appreciated. As promised, Jonathan arrived right on time. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He located the leak surprisingly quickly, and I was shocked at how deep the pipe was buried. At one point, Jonathan was upside down in the hole working to access it! Throughout the process, he clearly explained what needed to be done. He let me know he was going to the store to get a part and would be right back--and he was. He returned quickly and got right back to work. Once the repair was completed, he showed me the damaged section of pipe and explained the fix before covering everything back up. I was especially impressed with the care he took when refilling the hole. He carefully put the soil back in place, and by the end of the job, he was covered from head to toe in mud. It was obvious he worked incredibly hard to get the repair done right. It's been a few days since the repair, and so far everything is working perfectly. The owner of this company is responsive, kind, and most importantly, honest. I highly recommend Good Guys Plumbing for any plumbing needs. They truly live up to their name--they really are "The Good Guys"! Mahalo, John (and Jonathan) for your help. We appreciate you so much!!!

After arriving at my home with plumbing parts in hand, Cody from Woody's Plumbing was instructed to provide a quote before starting. Despite having three weeks to prepare the estimate while waiting for the part to arrive on Maui, they quoted $965 for a one-hour job to change a cartridge -- even though they claimed the high price included sourcing the part but I supplied the part myself. They falsely claimed to have sourced it and refused to perform the work until I signed the quote and paid in full upfront. This is predatory pricing and unethical business behavior. Their suggested next step was to hire someone else to remove tile and look again. Over $1,000 for two visits that ended with no diagnosis, no fix, and a damaged ceiling is not reasonable value for the work performed. The technicians were polite, but the pricing for what was essentially "we couldn't find it" twice in a row is hard to justify. If you're getting a quote from this company, ask exactly what you get for the diagnostic fee and what happens if they don't find the cause -- in our case, the answer was pay again.

However it was the opposite experience as we coordinated through emails and phone calls. They scheduled the estimator to come between the hours of 1230 -130pm being that we are busy ourselves we had our parents come and wait during those hours. The guy calls my phone at around 1130 and says they are there knocking but no one's there? I'm like dude u guys said 1230? My girlfriend calls back and the person that answers the phone says that I gave them the ok to come early? In which I did not. Anyways very poor communication and did not try to call us back admit they came early or at least get the estimator guy back to give a proper estimate at the time they scheduled. Already starting off on a bad foot. Sent emails and no communication back what so ever to make it right. Our gf's parents ended up arguing with each other that they missed the appointment when they didn't miss the appointment the dude came super early. We told her parents not their fault guy came early before scheduled time. Communication and punctuality wasn't there.
