Right next door was a plant store with beautiful hanging flowers. I found peaches that were perfectly ripe. They had yellow and dark red cherries, that you could sample. I got the yellow cherries since they were sweeter with more flavor. I picked up some jam and corn as well. I wasn't offered help while I was there but the guy checking me out was nice. They had the ability to take credit cards but I paid with cash. They also have strawberry rhubarb pie. There is parking out front but we parked down the street by the ice cream shop.

Each time we are pleased with the selection of "local-ish" fruit and produce as well as the great quality of all the items we've purchased. Just like the Yakima peaches and apricots we bought on our most recent visit - yummmmmm. The staff who work here are always helpful to provide samples and make recommendations for the things they think are at their best tasting that week.. There may be other purveyors in Sisters of green grocer items as good as those Richard's offers, but if so we haven't found them. TIP: The first time you go to Richard's Produce, located in a gravel lot off Sister's main drag, W. Cascade Avenue, it can be a bit tough to find. So here's a marker. Just as you enter Sisters from the west you'll see a Space Age Fuel gas station on your right. Or just before you exit Sisters coming from the East you'll see that station on your left. Richard's is in the lot directly behind that gas station. (Cross Street is Hood Avenue.) ANOTHER TIP: Richards is adjacent to the seasonal nursery sales stand called C&C Nursery. That's a really great place to shop too...check them out while you're at it. http://www.yelp.com/biz/c-and-c-nursery-and-landscape-maintenance-sisters

Hey, I don't know that there's anything much greater in life than spending time with an alpaca…read more Now multiply that by, like, 2,000, and you've got an idea of how worthwhile a visit to Crescent Moon Ranch is. Or at least if you agree with my baseline assumption that alpacas are maybe one of the greatest things to ever exist. Okay, perhaps I'm being a little overzealous about the alpacas. But seriously, this is a really fun way to spend an hour or two, and it doesn't cost much. There's a cute little store where you can buy all manner of alpaca-related merchandise. You know like sweaters, hats, stuffed alpacas, magnets, dish towels, alpaca-scented candles, or whatever the hell they sell in little stores like this. It's fun to browse, but the real attraction is outside. Walk up to the counter, throw down five bucks, and they'll give you a Ziplock baggie full of little alfalfa nuggets. Then you head outside and walk next to the nine huge pens full of alpacas and feed those little bastards. And it's hilarious. They're cute in their own weird way, and they'll come right up to the fence and eat straight out of your hand. Their crazy prehensile lips take some getting used to, but keep your hand flat and they won't accidentally take a finger with the alfalfa. They're actually remarkably gentle. Although some of them are total pigs. Those are my favorites. They'll follow you around, shove the other alpacas out of the way, and basically behave like they've been waiting all day for you to show up with a Ziplock bag full of snacks. Eventually you start noticing that they all have different personalities, which somehow makes the whole thing even more entertaining. My gosh. Best five dollars I've ever spent. I took my 20 year old daughter and she had an absolute blast. It was just something we did to kill some time while we were up visiting Crooked River, but it ended up becoming one of those unexpectedly great little memories from the trip. So yeah, highly recommended. Go check them out. Give them some money. Support the ranch. And enjoy the alpacas, you crazy person.

We went there to try the smoked pastrami sandwich, because there are not many places that serve a good smoked pastrami, so decided it's a smoke house it should be good! Also the beef jerky looked delicious. and I asked the girl helping me how is the beef jerky? Do you folks make your own? She replied yes do you want to try a sample? So I asked to try the peppered beef jerky and it was tasty and not overly dried, I ended up buying some, which I plan to buy more before heading back home. Also we tried the smoked dark chocolate with hazelnut which also was very good and tasty and need to bring that also back home. The smoked pastrami sandwich was very good and tasty everyone enjoyed it! And it came with a bag of chips and also chocolate chip cookies that was still warm and chewy with a crispy edge. They also have a wine sampling once a month for wine tasting, beside they sell draft beers there it you like to have a drink with your sandwich or item they are selling.
