Mike keeps Reverend James and London Pride on the pumps at all times and there is always a great guest ale too. Last night he started with Sharp's Doom Bar and then changed the barrel for Tribute two great beers that were well kept. The place was a hive of activity last night and the locals and visitors alike obviously enjoyed the beer and the good company. Mike has created a fantastic beer garden too, which overlooks the marsh and the beautiful church at Llanrhidian. He keeps ducks and chickens, which children enjoy watching, and these birds provide fresh eggs both for the kitchen and for the out sales customers. A large car park is available, and the pub is just down the hill from the bus stop. The Rake & Riddle caters for everyone with a tidy sized restaurant, sports bar and cafe. There is an outdoor seating area and play area for the kids. With a tidy sized car park to the rear. I had the mixed grill, which was cooked perfectly, and my wife had the Gammon which she thoroughly enjoyed. The chips that came with both are cooked just like regular chip shop chips, which is a major plus from us. The price is comparable with similar restaurants and I felt the portions were good value for the money.

I did once drink 6 pints of their keg version in a night, to win a pair of green Worthingtons boxer shorts!

The specials board had a stunning truffle and mushroom strudel which was utterly delicious! I could have eaten it over and over again! Valentines Dinner Ruined! Run by young people who haven't the slightest idea what customer service…read moreor hospitality means. Ordered a dinner pie for my husband, and a classic chicken burger for myself. His pie pastry was so tough he could hardly cut it, and the carrots were like rubber. They brought me the wrong burger. They brought the smothered chicken burger. I sent it back to get the correct item. Then they brought a grilled chicken sandwich. When I showed them that the chicken burger was grilled instead of breaded, they said that is what the classic chicken burger is. Menu doesn't say this. They refused to make my meal right. We left my husbands meal uneaten and paid for what we received - even though we left hungry. We found a nice place for dinner. Will never eat here again and advise others to avoid it.
