If you are used to drinking in a pub in the middle of a council estate with obese, vest clad, parents and plenty of unruly kids running about, then this is the place for you. Two choices of "beer", lager or cream-flow. Lots of litter in the "beer garden" so don't be afraid to chuck away your chip wrapper here.
They have a captive market as there are no other pubs within miles, so it seems their attitude is, "if you don't like it, then stuff you".
There are some really great pubs on the Gower, depending on what you are looking for. Generally most people who go to Gower are looking for peace and quiet, good walks, secluded bays with stunning views.
My recommended pubs are;-
The Dolphin at LLanrhidian, fantastic real ales and Welsh cider, the best beer garden in the area. Food is limited to ploughmans, filled rolls, cockles and laverbread, owing to the lack of kitchen facilities.
The King Arthur, Renelston. Good food at reasonable prices with some choice of real ales and in the colder weather, log fires roaring in the bar and the main foyer.
The Joiners in Bishopston is a real ale drinkers paradise. Three ales brewed on the premises, along with at least three ever changing guest ales. Food is good and very reasonably priced, but across the road is The Valley with even better food.
