It's the closest station, but it's really not worth going. Instead of being welcoming, they barely open their mouths to address you. You ask a question, they'll point to a poster instead of answering. Happy employees don't represent a company so brazenly. Take note. I gave the woman at the counter the package in her hand. On the screen, I selected how I wanted it to ship. The 3 mood faces are next, I select the smile. In hindsight, I regret that error. She tells me the price and I ask how much are stamps. I'm told $16.. for 20, they only have books. Then I ask how much is it going up to. I expect her to tell me the cost of the book again. She cites the cost of 1 stamp and points to the small poster display, which also has it per stamp, not a book. I then calculate the difference, by this time she's so exhausted and no longer able to stand so she flops in her chair. I've frustrated her apparently. BTW, this was at 11:45 - the day is just getting started. She asked, do you want stamps? "No", since her attitude annoyed me. I pay. Instead of extending the receipt for my reach, she deliberately places it on the counter. Older generations know that placing something on a counter instead of in someone's hand is highly disrespectful, especially if it's transactional. And, she appears old enough to know this norm. I strongly suggest that the mood faces be displayed rt before you pay and not before, because service goes down from there! If I have the unfortunate luck of returning... they will be getting a frown from hence forth.

While it might be missed it still might help prevent folks from standing in line for 10 minutes (or longer?!) before they notice the signs posted at the windows (one of which is taped to the counter so you don't see it until you reach the window). The Deets: When I visit my parents, we go to do many of our errands over in Lewisville (or if a larger trip is in order, Winston-Salem of course). Lately we've needed to stop by the Post Office in Lewisville and it's a pretty nice one. It is definitely an upgrade from the one that was in Lewisville when I was younger. There is plenty of parking at this one and it is not ever near full on my visits, plus there is a convenient drive-up mail drop off in the parking lot as well. Inside the nice brick building, there is a modern, clean, well kept service area with two staff service desks, drop off area, and plenty of PO boxes in the lobby. On my last visit, I went inside and both desks were staffed which made the three person line move very quickly while there. In a time when many reflect disappointment when making a USPS visit, I am here to say this one does the job from what I've seen.

I made an appointment online for the passport services here for my boyfriend and I since many (if…read morenot all) of the Post Offices in the Triangle were totally booked for 30 days out. We were already in Greensboro for the weekend so driving to downtown High Point wasn't too far out of the way. We just needed an appointment ASAP for an upcoming trip out of the country! The confirmation email I received after scheduling our appointment online asked for us to arrive 10 minutes early, and I can see why because at 2:30 PM they were really busy! This post office has a sign up on the wall asking for a limit of 4 people to be inside at a time, which people were clearly not following, but there was no one in the separate room for the passports, so it was fine for us... At least everyone was wearing a mask! The woman helping us get our applications in order was very friendly, helpful, and made great small talk while we were there. My appointment for 2 adults was scheduled from 2:30 - 3:00 but we got everything taken care of, including photo (and a retake or two), and were out of there within 15 minutes! I was pretty impressed. On our way out, we did encounter someone asking us for a dollar, which is always a little uncomfortable, but other than that, the passport service here was 5 stars from me.

When I do reviews of cities and towns, I always review based on places of similar size. So I would…read morenot rate Lexington against New York, Nashville or Charlotte as examples. More like Lexington vs. Salisbury, Statesville, etc.. Nice town of 18,000 plus population, between Charlotte and Greensboro. Part of the Piedmont Triad with Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High point. The BBQ capital of North Carolina and recognized as one of the top places in the US for BBQ. I had low expectation of Lexington before visiting but I was wowed by how much this small town has to offer. Downtown This may be one of the best downtowns I have seen for a town of its size. Very healthy downtown area. Lots of shops, restaurants and places to get an adult drink. Downtown Lexington has a couple of places that are rare these days. One, a downtown grocery store (old school grocery) Conrad and Hinkle. Two, an old hardware store. Downtown grocery and hardware stores have all but gone away, so it is great to see both of these places doing well here. Parking is street parking, at least I didn't find any parking garages or lots. Signs on Main Street state two hour parking which is better than paid meters like you see in other places. There is a depot district in downtown that has a couple of breweries. This section also has a lot of empty buildings that appear to be old textile or furniture companies. This section of town has a lot of promise if they can get the right businesses to come in. Downtown Lexington is a great place for a day trip. Highly recommend it. Outside of downtown For a city of only 18K, you have about every big box store you need. Plenty of grocery store variety as well. There are at least three wineries close by, including Childress Vineyards on the west side of town. Oh and don't forget about the many BBQ places. I85 runs through the city. This gets you to Greensboro to the north and Charlotte to the south. Winston-Salem is a 20 minute or less drive from Lexington which is great.

We waited about 2 hours behind other walk ins and appointments. Clean waiting area with security guard. Clean bathrooms. I heard the security guard tell someone to call a 800 number to make an appointment and maybe that would have been easier than online appts.
