I am writing this review because I believe families deserve to know what to expect when taking a…read morechild to this facility for dental surgery. I am the foster parent of an 8-year-old child who came into my care with extensive dental decay. Her regular dentist referred us here because this was the only dental surgery center in our area that accepts Medi-Cal. From the beginning, our experience was disappointing. The receptionist, anesthesiologist, and dentist all came across as very abrupt and unwelcoming. There was very little warmth or reassurance toward a young child who was about to undergo surgery. Before the procedure, the dentist told me that my foster daughter would probably need one or possibly two crowns and that a very loose front baby tooth would be removed. I was therefore quite surprised to learn that she ultimately had six crowns placed and three baby teeth extracted. I am not saying that all of this treatment was medically unnecessary, because I am not qualified to make that determination. However, the significant difference between what I was told beforehand and what was ultimately done left me with questions that I feel deserve a clear explanation. My greatest concern, however, was how she was handled during and immediately after anesthesia. The anesthesiologist had her sit on my lap to administer the sedative. The process felt rough and abrupt. She became essentially limp almost immediately. I was then instructed to move her into a wheelchair in front of me. At that point she was dead weight, and I struggled to move her while seated. I was not offered assistance. After the procedure, the anesthesiologist came into the waiting room and told me to pick her up and take her back out. She weighs approximately 60 pounds, and I am 61 years old. She was still extremely limp and unable to assist me. I struggled to carry her. I was not offered assistance getting her, I was sent back to the public wait room to recover in front of strangers, no help transferring her, or assistance getting her safely to my vehicle. I was left carrying a heavily sedated 60-pound child while also trying to open doors and manage the situation myself. No one offered to help open the doors or assist us to the car. Regardless of whether the dental treatment itself was appropriate, I believe the way a child is handled during anesthesia recovery and the way a caregiver is assisted with a completely limp child are matters of patient safety and basic compassion. I hope the facility will review what happened, including its pediatric anesthesia recovery and discharge procedures. Children and their caregivers deserve to feel safe, supported, and treated with dignity--especially when the child is frightened, sedated, and unable to help herself.

I have a lot of dental work anxiety tbh, so I avoid it like the plague. Well, I needed a root canal, and it was so unlike what I expected. I thought it would be painful, and I also don't like needles. But I barely felt the injection, and the process was so smooth! Also, Dr. Parvez is just super warm and kind. The office is very nice and relaxing, and there is a koi pond. It was just the right vibe, and while going to the dentist will always suck, this was literally a 10/10 for what the experience could be. Fast forward to 4 years later, and one of my very old fillings popped out. I actually went to a different dentist first, and they didn't even x-ray all of my teeth -- just the one side that was obviously damaged. And it felt so rushed, and the dentist was so cold and unfriendly. Her office felt like a mill, packed with patients, unhappy-looking staff, and everything was so rushed! Anyway, after that, I literally went through the process of switching insurance to one that is accepted by Dr. Parvez. But it was so worth it! I just had my second root canal, and it was just as smooth and great as the last time. I barely felt the needle, the procedure went very smoothly, and it was such a low-anxiety experience! Also, a shout out to the front staff who were really kind and the assistant (I don't know her name, but she has dark black hair.) who also helped me feel so relaxed. My anxiety was 0, which is just amazing to say about a dentist visit! Anyway, like I said, 10/10.

I am in the extraction process now. I've so far had eight teeth extracted and it has been the most comfortable experience I've had so far. Dr Taylor and his staff are awesome. It's not set up like a traditional orthodontist or dentist office and it doesn't smell like one either. This was a big plus for me, since it helped calm down my nerves when I first walked in. Although the treatment time took a little bit longer, it was worth it! Dr. Supakit and his staff keep to their word and whatever you guys agree on is what you pay, there's no hidden fees and no surprises at the end. As well, his prices are extremely affordable and way more honest than some other people (another office I went to tried charging me triple the price I paid at Hayward Braces for almost double the amount of time). The thing I'm going to miss the most from my whole experience is coming back here every month to see everyone. They truly made this experience the most positive one I've had thus far with dentist/ orthodontists and I can't thank them enough for that. And now because of Dr. Supakit and his staff, I finally have the smile I've been waiting for :)!
