I picked Hampton Inn based on its location near the river and feedback from my family, who lives locally. I checked in on the Hilton Honors app and requested a digital room key. That never arrived so I was lucky their desk is staffed 24-7 since I arrived close to 10 pm. The staff was very friendly and sweet. My room was fine. Two queen beds was the only option. That led to the room being a bit cramped with very little space between the beds and the TV. The bed was comfy as were the pillows and I had no issues with the fan or room temps. The room was mostly clean but the shower definitely had some hard water stains and a bit of mildew in the corners that needs to be bleached away. Otherwise the bathroom seemed pretty newish and clean. Honestly, I think Palatka just has weird water. The location along the river was wonderful and I enjoyed the sunrise over the fountains out back. There was free breakfast each morning which was fine. I grabbed some toast and eggs most mornings. I stayed for 4 nights which is about the most I can see staying. It was comfortable and no frills. Overall, if I needed a place to stay while in the area, I'd choose this again. No issues with noise and as a solo female traveler I felt safe.

I absolutely adored my stay here. There's nothing more I…read morelove than a boutique hotel. I had the almost amazing stay. The Artisan is in a prime location. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The staff was so nice and personable. I felt welcomed. The Artisan is super charming. Very clean. I stayed in the junior suite which is the equivalent of a small apartment. Came with a workspace and a living room. The room was inviting. Gave the vibe of a farmhouse bed and breakfast. Is that even a thing? Tons of natural sunlight. The sofa was plush. The hardwood was the original flooring. Oozed home. The bed was extremely comfortable. I wasn't able to get near it without wanting to take a nap. The bathroom was spacious. Like if you want to feel like you're at a getaway in the countryside this is it. I thoroughly enjoyed just lounging in my room. There was 1 con though, the shower curtain had mold at the bottom. They have daily turndown service. Which is a PLUS because this is not something a lot of hotels, especially chains do anymore. There is a restaurant downstairs. But you won't be burdened by them. I read reviews about the rooms smelling of food but that was not my experience. But the food was terrific. There is also a bar downstairs so you wont even have to the premises for much. There is parking attached to the hotel, they will give you a pass to park for the duration of your stay.

Let me first state that I myself am in hospitality and realize how hard it is to please everyone…read moreand how difficult it is to assemble great employees. This industry is one in which your attention and capabilities to multi task are truly important being that there are so many departments in running a hotel. You need eyes and ears in the back and the sides of your head. This business, hospitality, is certainly not for the faint of heart and one in which taking ownership for mistakes and problem solving for those mistakes are extremely important and key to your success. Working in the industry of hospitality I can reason that sometimes things may not go so smoothly but it's how a business solve those errors is what separates a truly great hotel from one that doesn't. Corrine, the GM of this establishment, is truly special and always available. She welcomes one and all to convey if a guests stay was pleasurable or not. She understands that her personal reputation is at stake and will stop at nothing to please her guests. I couldn't be happier with her hosting abilities and GLADLY recommend her hotel to all guests. Please also consider that with her establishment's extremely competitive rates a person cannot possibly get more for what they pay for. It's truly amazing how her and her staff accommodate guests. I plan on many more stays here at the Sleep Inn and recommend it to one and all !!!!

Then when I was given my room, it wasn't even what I booked. I had to go back down to inform the front desk it did not have what I booked. They switched me to room 301. This door does not latch! When trying to go to sleep for the night, it took around 5 minutes to get it latched and locked. I felt unsafe.
