I found a number of things in meat and seafood that were examples of unfair trade. The most recent was a package of chicken thighs that claimed to have a particular net weight. When I weighed the chicken and then weighed the packaging, it was off by over a half pound. I brought pictures of the product on a digital scale and spoke with the manager. She told me that the chicken hadn't been packaged by Weis and so it wasn't them. No offer to look at my pictures. No interest. No offer to reimburse me for the missing meat. Didn't ask for contact information. She suggested that I write down when the meat and seafood department manager would be in and come back then. As you can imagine, I don't shop there often. The next time I was back wasn't during the hours where someone might be interested, so she again sent me on my way again. Clearly not an issue for Weis Markets. I told her calmly that I would be contacting corporate about it. I called corporate customer service. They "took my report" and said that they would send a copy to the store manager and the district manager. Again, didn't take my name or number. No interest in my pictures. No offer to reimburse. That's when I decided to call whatever government offices deal with fair trade. First, I decided to write this Yelp review. In the past, I've spoken with the seafood manager about fake crab salad labeled as "crab", not "krab". He said he had never heard of the convention of referring to it as krab. I've spoken with them about selling "Porterhouse steak" with the fillet mignon portion cut off. Again, they listened to me. I'm not convinced that they did anything about it. And then there was the time when they sold me a bunch of ice with my package of shrimp. If you buy these sorts of products from Weis, better be aware. They know. They just don't care and think that it doesn't matter. read more

I always frequent this Weis for one reason... I know the layout. Is it worth the disappointment I feel when I can't find certain items or the price of stuff isn't anywhere to be found? Questionable. Don't get me wrong, I've had good trips to Weis where I came out with what I need but unfortunately it's not as often as I'd like. And yet I still keep coming back for more because I enter the doors with the hope that I'm going to find what I need. However, I do want to mention that the staff, particularly the ones to be found by self check out, are very nice and helpful. It just stinks when I have to go to the Giant around the corner when I can't find certain items I need or when I'm 5 minutes too late for the Deli and there isn't any cheese left in the grab and go. I purchased 5 Navel Oranges (5 /$5) on Sunday, 11/23. I purposely took my time and picked through my selection and thought I picked well. AnyWHO, as early as the next morning the oranges began to "soften" so I began eating them. Thanksgiving morning, 11/26, I did a last check of my ingredients and one of the oranges had gone BROWN at the bottom! Ewww! Another reason why I should continue to purchase from LOCAL FARMERS! They never have enough carts. Today there were no carts outside or inside the store. I had to multiple cart returns and found a single cart which I quickly grabbed. Scanning discounted products at the self checkouts also very frequently doesn't work. read more

I'll never shop at Weis again. Ordered through their app. Order was incorrect & was dumped on patio w/no notice. Called the store & told we can't help call DoorDash. DD can't help because store has my pymt not them so they can't refund missing item or delivery. Call store back and Store Manager was rude and said they will not refund missing items. They thought I was on hold but nope, could hear them trashing me for calling back (per Door Dash instruction). Horrible service. The store contracts with Door Dash. They are responsible for them, not the customer. They also shop the items themselves so it's the store that screwed up or as Manager said "driver may have kept my items". The responsibility for that still lays on Weis. Stay away from them. Zero stars. read more

I just want you to know I didn't know how to get three turkeys on line order because it just showed pounds. I called your store and the gentleman that answer said he would connect me to someone I could ask and he connected me with Michelle. She not only gave me information but she called me after my order was received to let me know the three turkeys were there. Today I feel we have to say "Thank You" for having an employee that make sure things are done right and helps the customer. Weis has great Friday pizza specials. I think that the exact deal has changed from time to time, but last night I got a large, two-topping pizza for $7.50, including tax. And their pizza is pretty good. There are certainly several pizza places in the area with better pizza, but Weis' is made-to-order with quality ingredients, and at a great price. Bonus: the pizza counter is adjacent to their beer department, which has a good selection and offers a "Build Your Own Sixpack." It's very convenient for a Friday pizza-and-beer night. As a grocery store, Weis is OK. It's not my go-to store in the area, but it's clean and bright, the employees are personable, and it has a good selection. read more

This store keeps going to new lows. They now have so called E coupons, which requires internet, computer, cell phone to get the sales price. So, a 90 year old mother on soc sec has to to get those things and be able to use them, in order to get the lower price at Weis Market, even if they have a Weis Card. This is such a scam, but probably legal and reviewed by their lawyers. But, that does not make it right, or moral. Folks, you vote with your dollars, by supporting them. Check your receipts, and better yet, find a honest store that is consumer friendly. Don't expect help at their service desk either. read more

Weis is the only major grocery store I could find that stocks Tapatio. The store is spacious with wide aisles and super clean. Cashiers are friendly and checkout was efficient. Can Phoenixville trade their Acme or Giant in for a Weis? There is also the vacant space where Redners briefly was on Route 113 in Chester Springs. Hopefully they will open in Chester County in the near future. read more

I will give this market just the two stars but I really wanted to give them a five because the store is nice and clean and they have a great selection. I came in here to buy food which was an entire meal for a family of 6 with a pregnant mom they we're homeless and I offered to buy them a meal and they accepted the meal . My problem was that I was buying them big bottles of juice and I did not know how I would be able to get cups with ice because it's very hot out. I asked the one worker coming by and he was going to give it to me and I said that I would need more than one because I was giving it to people that were in the parking lot that we're hungry and he actually had the nerve to say oh no not for them. I won't be coming to your market again. Mind you the cart was full with a couple whole chickens, loaves of bread from the bakery and several other items. I can say that if it wasn't for the fact that these people were standing right outside I would have went to another market and put all that stuff back. This is a nice store. I grew up with Weis markets, but this particular store is much nicer and cleaner than the stores I grew up with. This location used to be Genuardis but is now Weis markets. The store inside is clean and attractive, overall well organized. My complaint is the freezer section. It's mostly open freezers and not aisles so very cold in that section and not very environmentally friendly. It's also hard to find the frozen items you need if you are not familiar with the store. But it is conveniently open 24 hours and cheaper than giant with better quality than Walmart for produce. I like coming here. read more

Was there Sunday 11/29/2020. Lot of stocking shelves going on. When I went to grab a box of cereal, box was crushed. Box behind it was approx. 12 in. back. I didn't want to "bother" man stocking shelves so I used my pen to nudge it forward. I then heard him holler, "I can't believe it", unbelievable, really!".... I thought to myself, shame he's upset about something. I was shocked when he got up came toward me and hollered at me "Unbelievable! You know they all come out of the same box!!!" At first I was speechless and then responded that the first box was crushed. I'm a petite 62 year old woman. Wonder if the "tough" old guy would have said anything if I was a MAN! I spoke to female manager today. She agreed with me and said she would talk to him. Hopefully, it will help him to not be nasty to "paying" customers. read more

The employees are so friendly and helpful. Even those who were busy stocking shelves stopped to greet me and asked if I needed help. The store is clean and well stocked. The prepared food section/cafe has a great selection of hot food and baked goods. I love coming to this store! read more

This place is the worst. The beer and wine sales is why is put up with their BS but I've decided it is not with the hassle. What is the smell in the atrium? The "café" is horrendous. The employee by the pizza counter, though nice and helpful, was touching the pizza with bare hands after touching dirty money with bare hands as well as picking up something off the floor. So unsanitary. Additionally, when getting food from the hot food bar the food was mediocre at best. It was lukewarm, the chicken tasted fake, the pasta dishes were flavorless and/or just tasted terrible. When taken to management to get a refund for this awful food, they made us pay for the 30 cents worth of food that we ate, the manager wouldn't make eye contact and was on the phone during the refund transaction. I signed up just to leave this comment. This place used to be Genuardis which my family used to go for grocery. But it seems to me Weis doesn't offer the good quality of products that Genuardis did. My mom recently bought several large containers of their store-brand yogurt which had about a week before expiration date. But two of them had gone bad when she went home right afterwards. We didn't return them because we knew this sometimes happens to diary products, and also that we've already opened them. A week later, we bought a bag of 8 lb. of grapefruits. After opening the bag, most grapefruits look like they've been there for a decade - extremely dehydrated and shrunk. That's the point we realized that Weis is not our choice for some fresh dairy product and grocery. The store overall is always very cold, especially the freezer section. But the staff are nice and helpful. read more

They have made a lot of changes since this was Genuardi. Staff is young but friendly and helpful. Just recently I asked for Shrimp steamed in Old Bay and the employee behind the seafood counter informed me that their steamer has been broken for quite some time. Please please PLEASE check the food date before purchasing. This has happened to me too many times and I honestly do not know why I keep going back. I JUST came from there and bought salad, the first one literally had brown juice in its container so I put it to the side and bought the one behind it. Just got home 30 mins away and as soon as I open it it smells like straight trash. I can't even believe it. I look at the date and it said USE BY SEPT 30. What is today? Sept 30. So you want us to use a container of salad all by today and clearly it's already expired, a mess. This happened before with chicken. I opened it and got home and realized the used date was three days AGO. This is a mess and i am writing to the owner because I can't take it anymore! They will not be getting my business again. This market is gross. The employees stand idly, in the way of shoppers and the cashiers are slow and surly. They do not bag. They stand around talking in clumps watching the customers do it. As of late, I have seen some genuinely alarming customers in this store. The product selection is awful and they don't even bring the carts back from the corrals so you need to get one yourself or use a giant cart for a tiny order.
