My husband and I have been Weinstein patients for years. The doctors are wonderful and professional. The front desk staff are not friendly or welcoming when you enter the facility. Cynthia in the billing department is very rude and could care less about assisting you with questions regarding your bill or if it is correct. I received an incorrect bill due to Weinstein submitting to the wrong insurance. I called and spoke with Cynthia who very rudely stated it was billed correctly and my balance was correct. She was wrong, my claim was never submitted to my eye care insurance. I left a message for Kimberly, Cynthia's supervisor but never received a return call. We will not return! read more

The staff and billing are to lazy to process a claim with supplemental insurance. Your laziness and lack of care have cost you a customer. VSP contacted billing and they didn't want to be bothered. VSP offered to assist them with the claim and they declined. We pay pay for insurance for a reason! Someone needs to look into the employees willingness to work with the customer! read more

So a few weeks ago my husband and I go in here to get exams and prescription glasses. We both go through the normal routine of looking for glasses and going through all of the options and choosing what we want. My husband needed either two sets of glasses for nearsightedness and farsightedness or a pair that's a combination of both which I believe they called bifocals. Well I knew given my husbands line of work, that it would be a pain for him to have the glasses that are combination of both because there would be a lot for him to have to get used to. So the girl Taylor that was helping us was trying to talk him in to getting the pair where everything is combined. She said that there's no risk in getting them because if you can't get use to them, you can return them and they will take care of everything. So he gets them, even though I tried to talk him out of getting them in the store and she kept repeatedly saying that "just go ahead and try them because there's no risk". Well, after a week or maybe a little more, my husband decides that he cannot get used to them so I called them in advance to let them know that I would be bringing them in to return them. And I made sure that they would back up the fact that they said there is no risk and that we would be refunded. Well that is not exactly the truth, come to find out. You don't get refunded the entire amount you paid, and there is in fact a risk in getting them. They will give you another pair of glasses, but even if the glasses are less value, which they will be given the fact that they are not a combination, but you will not get refunded the full amount you paid. They failed to disclose this during the buying process. So the employee Taylor that was in there, continues to go on and on about how if the company were to do that they lose money. Well I don't care one bit about the companies monetary situation when it comes to the glasses they sell. If you were going to tell me (the customer) that a transaction is risk-free and that we will get a refund, then that means it's risk free and we will get a refund. Then she goes on about how we signed the paper work and we should have read it. So this is where the sketchiness comes in. They can tell you that it's risk-free and you can get a full refund, but they can also include in fine print in their paperwork that is not the case somehow. I told her that she was not being transparent. She claims that she was being transparent. So how can she be being transparent if she's telling me that it's risk-free and I'm getting a full refund, but the paperwork says otherwise according to them. So while she's trying to explain to me how the company loses money if they give you a full refund, the manager Lindsay who was handling my transaction appears to give her a look to indicate to stop talking to me as she was rambling on about something that did not pertain to me as a customer and was inappropriate. Trying to explain to someone that your company is losing money by doing something is completely inappropriate. It is not the customers concern or responsibility to know or care about that. If you say as a company that you will sell someone a product that it is risk free and they will get a refund, then it should be just that. End of story. I will never be using this place again. And I also returned my glasses as well because I am not giving this company any of my business. In addition to this, their hours of operation are horrible. They are only open weekdays from 9 to 5. And when I walked in at 4:40 to return the glasses, Lindsay looks down at her watch when I walked in as if to say "you're coming in here 20 minutes before closing time"? The only good thing about the place was the actual doctor that did the exam. He was very professional and friendly. But because everything else sucked so bad, I'm not giving this place a good review. read more

What a gift it was to find Weinstein Eye Associates. Everything about this business exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. The examination by Dr Weinstein was hands down the best I have ever had. He was very informative when he spoke of the current state of my eyes. But, even more so what he sees as necessary to maintaining my eyesight. We are only visiting this area. But, if we called Calvert County home, he would certainly be my choice for an Optometrist. read more

As with most doctors they do not stay on schedule for your appointment. Plan at least 45 minutes wait after your appointment time. Doctors are also a competitive business, so I will just go elsewhere to somewhere that understands the customer's schedule is also important. read more

Several issues occurred all pointing to poor customer service. Last two appointments had issues. First last year I had progressive lenses made for driving and for up close PC use. The PC glasses were good but the distance glasses were not working. When I complained they set me back up with another appointment well over a Month out (really?) This appointment showed a mistake was made and a new prescription would need to be made. The treatment from then on was like it was my fault...no "please" or "thank you" or "sorry". I chalked it up to oh well. I had an appointment today at 9:45am. I did arrive 5 min late. When entering the store the Dr was behind the counter with 2 associates (No customers in store) "can I help you sir" Yes I have an appointment. Sorry sir, your appoint was for 9:15. I stated they told me 9:45. The Dr left and nothing was said by anyone. After Awkward silence I asked if anything else was open. Can you come tomorrow? I live 45min away. After thought I said no thanks, I will check with some place closer. Again Poor to No customer service.... Did not use my name or acknowledge me as a long term customer. No one tried to contact me after I left. Well NO more! No Thank you. BTW consistently using "Sir" is not polite. read more

Twice they were unable to accurately measure my eyes and thus gave me wrong prescriptions. Receptionists are extremely rude. Told me my vision was too poor for contacts which is false. Have never had a problem at the Upper Marlboro location and will be going back there. read more

Was able to come in for an urgent appointment today. They got me in within 30 minutes of when I called. Everyone was very friendly and eager to help. The doctor did a VERY thorough exam on my eye during the appointment and didn't try to sell me overpriced prescriptions, etc. told me what to buy over the counter! Excellent and will be back for regular eye exams!! read more

This is my eye Doctor and I will never leave. Finally an Optometrist who is knowledgeable - efficient and straight forward. The Dr.s and the staff. Exam was quick and easy and the suggestions he gave were correct - he knew what he was talking about. The brand of contacts he suggested are much better and much more comfortable. The staff did all the work for me and got me lenses for astigmatism correction. Great office - great staff - I feel much better dealing with them than all the Mc Donald's type optometrists that I've had nothing but bad experiences. read more

I am truly a fan of Weinstein Eye. This is my second time using Weinstein and although the doctor and most of the staff were different this time around, I still received quality service. The receptionist was both kind and professional and the doctor that performed my examination was top notch! I had one issue with one of the technicians but the issue was resolved in a timely manner and I was happy with the result. The reason I gave five stars in spite of having an issue is due to how it was handled fairly and professionally. read more

The reviews on this place are residual from when it was a pleasant place. This place has inverted from friendly service from the front office and gone entirely rude and inappropriate. I called 3 months ago to set up and appointment and was treated rudely over the phone being told what to do and interested in everything except taking care of me. I hoped this was just getting the wrong person on the phone. My wife told me not to set up an appointment. I tried again a few weeks later with the same rude results. I got text messages (which I never signed up for, by the way), and replied to confirm my appointment after the third message. I then got two phone calls with no messages left. I called back to the office to see what was going on, and they said I needed to confirm my appointment again. This place was full of attitude over the phone. I went in anyway, because I hoped there was one bad apple at the place. I walk in and immediately it's "what's your name," and insurance card and ID and please sign here here here...like am I not a person? This is entirely impersonal. So I sit down to consider whether I really want to work with this place. Then the conversations start about personal relationship drama among the three front desk folks. This is an entirely unprofessional office with folks who have no heart for service and collect paychecks. You can't systemize a good experience. You have to start with having some good people, which this office certainly does not. read more

Great place. Dr W was very thorough and responded in detail to all my questions. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I'll be seeing them regularly. I was pretty particular about my frames, and the help I got was honest and straightforward.... I took up a lot of her time. My husband was with me, and he made an appointment for himself for the following week. He was pretty impressed by the treatment I received. Cannot recommend highly enough. read more
