We have used Weinmann Painting multiple times since 2002. First when renovating a 1926 home in historic Irvington on NE Thompson (inside and outside). Then in 2017 we downsized to a condo in NW Portland.....they've painted the interior plus heavily involved after a water leak in our MBR closet. We had a great experience with Weinmann Painting. We had much of the exterior woodwork on the front of the house, our front deck and a new covered structure in the back yard sanded/painted/stained. Lori was so helpful setting up the appointments and keeping in contact throughout the project. Kevin came out to assess the house and prepare the quote and gave me some helpful advice and buckets of his time. Estuardo and Miguel did a wonderful job with the painting, sanding and staining and put huge effort into prepping all surfaces first. It was difficult to choose stain colours, as there were different types of wood and different finishes to be stained. Estuardo went out of his way to help us and make it as easy as possible. They left the house and their equipment tidy at the end of each day, which we really appreciated, especially with two young kids. My first contact with Weinmann Painting, Inc. was in May 2021. Kevin Weinmann provided a detailed proposal within days of our meeting. My house, built in 1926, would require a lot of TLC in preparation for painting: scraping, reglazing and recaulking of windows, gutter repair and replacement of several concrete tiles. Also, my concrete porch had several layers of peeling paint that required meticulous attention. Based on review of their work and recommendations from friends and neighbors, I did not seek other bids and felt confident that I would do business with them. I was more than willing to wait the projected 4 months, prior to beginning the project. Emma and Lori provided close communication and phone calls and emails were often returned the same day. Written materials were provided re: expectations and preparations for painting. Early into the process, I was assisted with paint selection. I explored colors online and then requested paint chips from the companies. Opportunities were provided to drive by houses of previous work that highlighted potential color choices. Fortunately, the work began 2 weeks earlier than expected. From the first day, I met with the team leader at least twice a day and was kept well informed on progress. My initial choice for porch color was brighter than anticipated and a change in color was resolved by the end of the day, for a fair charge for new paint. The team worked in a calm, confident manner and seemed to enjoy working together. The worksite was left clean and well organized at the end of each day. Israel and Efer were thorough in the final wrap up. The finished product has exceeded my expectations. My house has been transformed. The house was scraped with no paint chips left on the ground, which is WONDERFUL since we have a garden next to the house. They were worth a higher end price in so many ways. We had a big project--exterior painting of an old Portland home that was overdue and required lead abatement as part of the prep work, extensive repair of wood siding and then painting including a lot of detail work. This was the third project we've used Weinmann for, the first exterior one, and as with the previous two, we had no reason to regret our decision. The Weinmann team, in this case Jose and Alex, were careful, explained the steps they would take, and did an excellent job in prep, scrapping/sanding, and painting. The job was a little more challenging because the window frames are a different color, as is the trim above and below, but the sides of the frames are the same color as the wall they were painting. They did a great job masking and covering these areas. They also went well beyond the minimum and dealt with issues on the corners. And they dealt with close quarters caused by it being a 3 story house with trees lining the side, and power and communication cables. Covid-19, smoke and rain certainly played havoc with the schedule, but the Weinmann office kept informed of all the impacts and changes, and made sure the schedule changes were okay with us. Once again, Weinmann did an excellent job, and at a reasonable cost. Our next project will also be a Weinmann one. read more

Very happy with the decision to have Weinmann paint my house. They also did the prep work, and made extensive repairs to the cedar shingle siding. Some painting companies only do paint. It was nice to have one company do the whole job. The list of houses they have painted is extensive, and I was able to view their work all over my neighborhood. Weinmann was not invited on our property and I can only imagine they were not excited about any competition in the NE Portland area. This Weinmann employee took pictures of the other painter's signage and then retreated to their Weinmann truck. Great experience with Kevin Weinmann and his team painting the exterior of our townhouse. Their bid was the lowest of the three we collected. As important, their whole crew was very customer-service oriented, providing information and answering any questions we came up with. The whole project was promptly completed, within 3 days. After they were done, we had a couple of areas we wanted reworked, which they did the next day. The only reason I don't give Weinmann 5 stars, dear fellow yelpies, is that this is the only painting company I've hired in my life (how often do you paint your house?), so I have little basis for comparison. But, in all, I was very pleased with Weinmann and happily recommend them. read more

Kevin saved my holiday by coming in with a timely estimate and being willing to meet a quick deadline. We had new carpet installed which made the walls look shabby in addition to the small areas that needed sheetrock/plaster patching. Just awful. Well above average cost estimate. Then they hit us up for an additional fee ("to make it look good"). Paint peeled off less than 6 months later, despite the extra payment and treatment. Sloppy work, and to make things worse, they would not fix it. Terrible communication. Strongly advise you to go elsewhere. UPDATE: We had the work done right before we left PDX. We hired Wienmann after reading reviews from people saying good things. Our experience was lousy. They were more expensive than any other bids we received. After this, they added extra costs for work that should be part of any exterior paint job. On top of the extra costs added, they didn't finish the work even after we paid the additional money. When I wrote the company asking for a partial refund, I received no response. The lack of response after doing average work and charging extra for it prompted me to write this review.
