Weingartz (Utica) staff, parts & service has been exemplary in three recent visits over the past 12 months when I've consulted with them for parts and repair for my aging equipment. They have been kind, sincere and patient listening and solving every issue. To my delight had obscure parts in stock. Provided advice on how to install the parts. When I bought a new blade and couldn't install it, I brought the unit in and they replaced it relatively quickly and at a reasonable fee. Offered to help load the equipment in my vehicle. 100% satisfaction. They have a steady stream of customers seeking care, advice and assistance. It appears home and business owners. Show room is very organized, packed with new equipment on display, with knowledgeable sales folks I briefly met. Prior to my satisfactory and successful visits, I skimmed several prior Yelp review profiles and saw some 1's and was skeptical. However, Weingartz reality I experienced is not at all like those posts. It's near impossible to provide the service, staff, expertise, and stock innumerable parts to service everyone with malfunctioning busted old equipment. Bought a rider many years ago and have used their at home maintence without issue in the past so I was very suprised this year to find a total different experience. Found out there were people that retired so must have been the reason that lack of communication and repeated calls were needed. Dropped off a lawnmower for service. bought a new one from Lowe's in the meantime. went back to pick up my old one and they gave me a different one. I didn't think it was mine but confirmed it when I got home I had a 220cc motor this one has a 195cc on it. I did not take pictures of it before, my bad. unless you are a farmer or landscape company do not go here. just take it to a smaller shop you can trust. read more

I first encountered their lack of business savvy when I purchased a riding mower from them and set up an appointment for delivery. That day came and went. Had to call back and make another appointment. No explanation given for the missed delivery. My second experience was I went online and requested service. They did call and arrived when they said they would. Technician stated that they would email me an invoice. That never happened. My third experience, I went online and scheduled a request for service. They were supposed to respond within 24 hrs. They never did. Two weeks later a tech just showed up to my home for my scheduled service. This place I think is ran by children. Techs however have been fantastic. read more

Last year it took an extended amount of time to receive our seasonal maintenance on our zero turn. This year it is already been three weeks and they still have not looked at our mower and said they'll try to complete at the four week point. Wish they had told us their turnaround time before we decided to have them pick up our mower. Unfortunately, they lost our future service. To add, we also received our mower back last year with a flat tire, which we were responsible for. I bought a zero turn John Deere at Lowe's. I took it home, filled it with gas and it would not turn over. I took it back to Lowe's and was told it probably had a low battery . The manager at Lowe's said they don't take gas powered items back. I could leave it until Weingartz service comes to Lowe's to fix it. I took it home charged it over night and still nothing. I return it to Lowe's, demanded my money back and went directly to Weingartz. I got a much bigger and nicer Cub Cadet for less money AND a free Dewalt blower. It's been 3 years and Weingartz has been great. Always friendly. Always great service. Very professional. I would not buy power equipment anywhere else. read more

This store absolutely understands customer service! Today I took my Toro mower there because I needed the blade sharpened, and I was unable to take the blade off myself. I fully expected to leave it for a few days, but my service advisor Ron asked if I wanted to wait if they could do it now. I said sure I could wait. Ron took my mower back himself and came back to his desk in like 15 minutes with the JOB DONE! This saved me an extra trip and lots of time, all for a $29 job. THANKS RON! Last year I had a similar experience when I bought a new mower bag online but I was unable to remove the old one from the frame and attach the new one. I brought both to this store, and again the job was HANDLED while I waited (and I was actually not even charged for the work)! Competitive priced on new equipment fair priced on parts. You can sometimes find it cheaper on eBay or specialty parts places, but you can get parts immediately here- large stock and their customer service has greatly improved in the last 10 years or so. Their customer service now is about as good as anyone can ask for. Helpful, courteous and they take the time regardless of the payback. Fair deals and you're supporting a good local business. This will be a long review so buckle in. Took a lawn vacuum in (one I had purchased from them a year before) since it wouldn't start. Told it would be a tune up and estimated cost was $109 and it would take a week to a week and a half. Received a call a couple days later and was told it would be $200 for a tune-up. And sometimes there are hidden issues so I can understand a cost increase. Fast forward to a week and a half and it's still not done. So I call to get an estimated completion date. I called on a Friday at opening. The response I get after I inquire is the date it should be done was Friday and they'll have to ask the service manager. Then they hang up, no goodbye no "we'll give you a call back" nothing just click. So I wait for around 6 hours and call back, get the same person and am told "the service manager hasn't gotten back to me yet"(even though they are in the same location) so I say "call me back when you find out" heard nothing on Friday, heard nothing on Saturday(which they are open). Called the assistant store manager today, still haven't heard back. Going to get my equipment back and go elsewhere. Customer service used to be good here, it's why I've always gone here.... But it seems the standards have fully dropped and I won't come back here. If you haven't been here I urge you, find somewhere else read more

Abysmal customer service. Zero communication. I had to call the mower manufacturer to get any assistance at all. I left messages for the repair manager and the store manager. No one ever returned my call. They had my mower for a month in the summer and the one useful communication a few days after drop off indicated the part was in stock... never received an explanation or apology for taking 30 days to replace one part. I would definitely NOT recommend using Weingartz for repairs and based on this experience I will NEVER buy anything from this company. I thought I was doing the right thing by supporting a family owned local business, but Weingartz does not want your business and the employees have demonstrated they do not care about us or our equipment. read more

Took my snowblower into the Livonia, Michigan location for a seasonal tune up and received a gas leaking machine in return (that had never leaked before) and leaked all over the back of my SUV. Took it back in over the weekend with complaints that it was now leaking gas. They returned it to me 2 days later WITH THE SAME GAS LEAK!!! Who sends a machine back with the same problem that it was brough in for??? I called and told them to come and get it and FIX it. Meanwhile trying to get the elusive Service Manager Tim Parish, on the phone to no avail. I am constantly sent to voice mail and when I leave one, they do not call back. Does Tim really even work there?? DO NOT GO TO THE LIVONIA LOCATION!!! They will ruin your machine AND the vehicle you are transporting the machine in!! read more

All of my communication was online/text, which was great. I contacted Weingartz to service my snowblower, as it didn't start up this December (gasp!!). I purchased the "at-home" tune up package (2 stage) for just under $220. They also have drop-off and pick-up/return options. The mechanic was polite and listened to my needs. He took it to his truck / mobile shop. When it was done, the snowblower sounded better than last season. The mechanic answered some questions afterward. I'm pleased with my experience and will call in a few years for another tune up. read more

Multiple issues (also looks like other customers have had as well): prices charged have not been near the estimated amounts, pick-up personnel have been rude and inappropriate, when addressing a recent concern with a manager, we were blown off and left feeling blamed. Do not go here for service!! For the second season in a row they have kept my riding mower for extended lengths of time, last season for seven weeks and this year for six weeks. I got broken promises about completion dates and blown-by return delivery dates. No explanations provided! Both times the mower was apparently damaged during the return delivery and had to go back to the shop. It's such a clown show that's just not funny when your grass keeps growing out of control. It's really hard to understand how they get away with this. I tried them and then I made a mistake and tried them again. I will never go there or buy anything there in the future. read more

Dropped my JD mower off after it started running rough. Took them 3 weeks to get back to me. It needed new valves (only 300 hrs on the mower) with an estimate of $1500. I declined the repairs since I could get a new engine for that price. I let it sit in their hands for a couple months- admitted, I was frustrated with their delay in getting back to me and the outrageous estimate and shouldn't have left it there that long. When I picked it up, they said there was a $125 estimate fee. This wasn't not told to me when I dropped it off, but was in the paperwork I signed. Maybe I'm the only person that thinks it's odd for them not to tell me. Either way, I asked if they could load it onto my trailer with a hi-lo since it doesn't really run. Some young kid then drove it to my trailer across the parking lot with a completely flat front tire. I asked if they couldn't have put air in it before driving it, he looked perplexed and said "service was declined". That summed up the whole experience for me. I will never go back and highly recommend no one go there. read more

I've got an old Troy-Bilt push lawnmower I bought at Sears by Oakland Mall over a decade ago. She's got some miles on her that's for sure. Fast forward to late summer during the peak of the pandemic the adaptor that holds the blade to the mower was worn down & I needed a new one, shouldn't be hard. Hit up my local Home Depot & Lowes but neither had the part, so multiple people steered me to the "Experienced" Folks at Weingartz.... ha. Lets just say I wasn't impressed. I brought in the part & they refused to match the part without the serial number & model number of the lawnmower. I was honestly flabbergasted, yeah that's right, flabbergasted..... all those qualified lawn "experts" & not one of them had the brains to go in the back & match up a simple part to a name brand lawnmower. Well, I gotta mow the lawn, so what should a fellow do??? How about I take my business to a store a little more interested in helping me fix my lawn mower so my boy can get back to earning his allowance. Hellebuyck's Power Equipment..... took the part in, they matched it up & with in minutes for less then 10 bucks they sent me on my way. Why was such a simple task turned into a big fiasco? Was I small fish, was my simple 10$ part not worth the time & effort? I don't need the answers, but maybe someone in management should ask the questions. I dropped off my 3 year old John Deere mowing deck to have a broken bolt repaired....just a broken bolt. After waiting two weeks and then spending an entire day of follow up waiting for unreturned messages and being on hold, I was told I needed to buy an entirely new mowing deck for $911! Did they actually tell me that a broken bolt can't be repaired and I need to pay them $911 for a new mowing deck?! So I did some research....the broken bolt problem is so common that John Deere sells a replacement kit to fix the issue (part#GY20718). Of course, I refused to buy a new mower deck but when I tried to pick up the old one....they tried to charge me a $120 "diagnostic charge"! Either, their mechanics are so incompetent that they can't even accurately diagnose a problem so common that the manufacturer provides a replacement kit to fix it or they simply don't want the service charge but rather would try to upcharge their customers for a brand new part. Regardless, there are plenty of competent and honest lawnmower mechanics out there, so do yourself a favor and find someone else to do business with. read more

They're more concerned about not getting reimbursed by the manufacturer without consideration of the potential thousands they could have made on a new sale. I'll never be back. Everytime I take my mower in for maintenance, there is always some sort of issue. Most of the time, they have a hard time giving me a credible estimate ofcwhen i can get the mower back. If you can find a better option, I recommend you try somewhere else. read more

Typically i've had excellent customer service with both sales and service at Weingartz in Utica. Unfortunately not on this occasion. I dropped a mower off for service on 6-4-22, since that date I stopped in on about 6-17 to find out that the parts were finally in and they'd be moving forward with the repairs. On 6-23 I called and was told they'd move it along. On 6-29 I still had heard nothing so I sent a manager an email, still no response. On 7-5-22 I called again and asked for a manger. I brought my Honda mower in for routine maintenance. I was informed that they will go over everything to make sure it is properly running and everything working. Was called to come and pick up mower, once home, checked to see that it was working as promised. Started fine, clutch engagement fine, lever that goes from mulch to bag, would not operate correctly. Called service department to explain my findings, " sorry, we must have missed that" needless to say, loaded it back in truck for return visit. No remorse, that it had to returned on the same day I picked it up, my time isn't worth nothing. Quoted $40, 6 days lay, get call, now it's $120. The have lost the art of CUSTOMER SERVICE, and now they've lost a customer Since this review was posted, contacted by Weingartz. Unbelievably poor service. I took my snow thrower in to get it fixed, they damaged the gas system, it leaks profusely, denied they did it, and ignore me. I have no recourse. Ghetto receptionist and mean. Won't honor their promised pick up and fixing the problem they created. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. Like we have time to deal with this crap after they take my hard-earned money. Will never support them again and encourage everyone I KNOW TO AVOID THEM ALSO. I brought in a chainsaw that I found in a storage unit. The tank was dry except all the old 2 cycle that was left from the gas evaporating. After putting fresh gas in the tank last year to help break up the oil the chainsaw actually started rather easily. I took it in and asked that the fuel system be cleaned and the carb rebuilt. When I took the saw in they took it in the back and started it. They brought it back and said it started on the first pull. They then proceeded to write the work order. 2 days later I get a text saying the saw was junk and they would apply the $68 towards a new $900 saw if I wanted. They stated the piston and cylinder walls were scorn. I was concerned about why the engine was taken apart when I just asked to have the fuel delivery system cleaned. I questioned them on it. Immediately I got an attitude about questioning what was actually done. Not that one service adviser was being a complete Asshole was bad enough then his buddy felt like he needed to be an Asshole too. Needless to say I spent $68 for someone to unscrew 2 muffler bolts and tell me it was junk after they started in the back "on the first pull" and never touched the fuel tank or the carburetor. read more

We've purchased mowers and get annual maintenance on equipment with Weingartz and have been very happy. The driver who pick up my mowers each season is exceptional! I was unable to start my tractor to get it out of the way for him to get to my mowers for pick up. He jump started my tractor for me! He probably spent an extra hour just helping me move it out of the way and then winching my mowers out of the barn since they too had dead batteries after being stored all winter. I was just so grateful he went the extra mile to stay and help when I know he could have very easily left without any of my mowers since they weren't out at the driveway waiting for him. Not impressed. Took my chainsaw to get fixed. Tried to use it a week later and realized they did not put back the bumber spikes. Also the chain was extremely loose. I have a Troy Built Neighbor Riding lawnmower. Last year I had it serviced. I told them it was not cutting properly and to do complete maintenance. I also told them if it needed anything to replace the items. I trusted this company. While using my RLM it stopped working. I called and they came and got it. It was some safety breaking switch. It was still not cutting properly. Truck came out and replaced blade. This season it wouldn't start. Called it was picked up. Told them the arm level that engages the blade needed to be replaced and sharpen the blade. Got it back, used it heard a bang RLM at highest level scalped my lawn, used it again really scalped it. Picked up again, said it was a bent blade how? Took 3 weeks just got it back. The arm level is loose, the steering wheel is loose. It's getting hot. Went to Weingartz Utica today. I was told by the assistant store manager that they will no longer service my machine. Untrustworthy business. Beware. read more

Just went there to get a battery for my tractor. Brought my old one and supposedly they matched it. I specifically asked if it was charged and ready to go and was told yessir all set. Drove back home 40 minutes to almont. Put it in, would not start. No frigging acid in battery. Just called "customer service" after receptionist was pissy like I was bothering her.
