I can only say my truth, I can only…read morewarn anyone that may come to the misfortune of this sorry excuse for an attorney in their lives! I personally watched the woman in court, at the time of the accused's court appearance (mind you this man was possibly 60+, had an obvious impairment and could barely understand a word this woman said). When the judge called for a recess the man approached Ms. Skall, very quietly and extremely reserved, she snapped around at his light touch to her shoulder and said "Excuse me, DO NOT touch me first of all, 2nd DO NOT interrupt me and finally since you are so impatient..how about you'll be the LAST person I speak to! So sit down if you'd wish, either way, you need to step back you are invading this client's right to privacy and it's extremely rude and neither of us appreciate it!" As the other client looked from the old man to the floor, mouth down turned, he was clearly not feeling the same as Skall. Once she made her way, 30 client later, to the old man, they spoke quietly, the entire time Skall had a finger out pointing at the gentleman being nastier as the conversation progressed. Within less than 5 minutes, she jumps up, proclaimed loudly, "so I may tell the judge you do not wish to have an attorney to represent you?" The old man, "Ma'am, I never said that..I..". Skall, "so what I understand is you are representing yourself?" As the gentleman man began to speak Skall turns her back and begins to walk away and says, facing the pulpit, not a pause, a look back, obviously on her devious mission to crush this tiny old man, penny less, his freedom was entrusted by the state to this racist, angry and flat out nasty, careless attorney. The man began to weep as she approached the judge and whisper with her hand over the mic and pointing at the frightened man. Not sure how everything turned out for that beautiful man. I do however know how mine went, I am still dealing with the horror this woman has caused myself and my family! I am truly unsure how it is possible for a narcissist with a short temper and vendetta against the very people, has been given the opportunity and extreme privilege of defending their freedom! Those who are court appointed attorneys need a certain kind of heart, an ability to see through a criminal's bologna and at the same time can assure that person has someone on their side and honestly fight for that person! Skall has all the opposite! I was also a unsuspecting victim of Skall and the toilet the justice system has become. I don't blame her for the corrupt DA or the judge that came in hungover from his long night with his secretary or an addict he takes advantage of because she knows that he can mess her life up because he can tell the judge over her custody case that she is on dope, he could cause her to go to jail on the drugs that were found on her, so she just goes along with his disgusting night time games. Skall has nothing to do with that but she is responsible for not only not entering my not guilty plea and entering a guilty plea against my wishes but the domino effect caused from her blatant disregard for a human who's life is worse than any one most people don't come across! Moral of this review, the public service of this announcement..DO NOT EMPLOY KARLYN SKALL she is 100% THE WORST ATTORNEY IN METRO ATLANTA!! BTW..the only reason I put a single star was because it is required in order to post a review and I'll be (Lord forgive me) Gosh Darned if I don't get this posted EVERYWHERE!!

Committed malpractice on numerous occasions and I'm a law graduate but she knew what I had been…read morethrough and could not represent myself. Even the judge who slammed me with a huge judgment because of HER malpractice said it was an issue but refused to recognize the fraud upon the court I raised. Which is pretty much par for the course with these judges. All she had to do was try to settle it as the letter she sent the defendant said but she didn't do that. She doesn't do the things she needs to do. Another judge ordered her to file a redacted copy of a pleading, but she just wouldn't do it. I reminded her and she said "I was supposed to do that, wasn't I?" Yes the judge ordered it and you never did it to this day. She did not send me a copy of a hugely concerning order demonstrating absolute legal corruption in another case so I did not know it existed until it was many months past the time to appeal its frank illegality. In an earlier order I was told it was her advice that I appeal it as a frankly illegal order but when I found appeals attorneys willing to represent me she did not return the calls so they wouldn't return mine. She knew how sick I was and still am and still she did this to me and then claimed she had no responsibility to speak to them. In the final order where the judge trafficked my child skipping the trial which is frankly illegal long after she stopped representing me because she knew she'd taken all the money I had to give to this corrupt DeKalb system, it took so long to get her to give me the file I was unable to pursue an appeal there either just as a practical matter. She goes on a lot of vacations. I have suffered so much and all I can say is it all sounds good in the beginning but in the end as I have learned, lawyers don't actually care about you or the law and will screw you over and then make up an excuse. It has been the end of me trusting anyone again as it's all about their relationship with the court and their "careers" in a corrupt system. I thought she was one of the good ones. I was a member of her community. She let me know exactly that I was nothing worth following the law and rules.

Without going into too much detail about my particular case, I had two other co-defendants with different attorneys representing them: one facing 33 months - outcome 33 months, another facing 24 months - outcome 24 months. Me, being represented by Weintraub & Alper could have been facing upwards of 27 months. Well... I received 6 months. Same case, same judge, same offense code. These gentlemen worked diligently to get me every advantage once we stepped inside the courtroom. I've been trying to get in touch with him on his cellphone, but he wasn't responding back to me. So I called his office and the receptionist had a nasty attitude telling me she doesn't know his agenda. I asked her if he was still practicing law and if he still meet clients at his office. He finally called me back on today, because the receptionist contacted him. He told me that he said last month that he couldn't help me with my case which is a complete lie. He kept asking me how could he help me with a nasty attitude and I told him I was calling to hire him also to pay him for my case. I did my research on him and he was suspended from the bar in 2011 for a felony! He is literally lying to people that contact him and want money without any signed agreements that he's going to represent you. If I never stated that I wanted to meet him at his office, sign an agreement, and get a receipt for the payment. He most definitely wouldn't be avoiding me and then lying like he told me he couldn't take my case. He's been repetitively calling me from his cellphone, different numbers, and texting me. I told him to quit texting me and now he's literally harassing me! I blocked his personal cellphone number and several other numbers he keeps calling me from. I've never in my life thought that an attorney would act out like this towards someone. What he is doing is unethical, harassment, and obscene.

I had many referrals from friends and family that I first tried to meet with after numerous attempts to gain an actual face to face consultation I resorted to the Internet . I called one Attorney who seemed to be a very well known I was basically told that to come talk to him plan on paying a retainer which was non refundable in the event his services were not needed then came across Kish and Lietz after reviewing the information on their website I made a call. Carl Lietz was on the phone immediately no can I take a message and have him call you back. I discussed my situation and was invited to the office for a consultation which was promptly scheduled within a day or two of my call. I met with Carl gave him the details of my situation and was shocked when he basically told me he wouldn't want to take any money until I was sure I would need his services. I was very shaken up by the events that led up to me needing representation and had many sleepless nights Carl was able to instill confidence in me and ease my mind. The consultation lasted for an hour or so and at the end he told me should I need his services to call and then he would accept a retainer. I had to insist he accept some sort of retainer just to ease my concerns which he did. I left his office with the confidence that I had retained an incredibly knowledgeable attorney. Carl also handed me his contact information and made it clear that should I have questions or concerns he was reachable 24/7. Time passed and I did end up needing Carls services. I can only say that had it not been for Carl I would have suffered many worrisome days and nights. Carl made me feel as though I was as important as any of his other clients never made me feel as I was a bother when i called with silly questions and re assured me my situation would turn out fine and it did. Atlanta Magazine refers to him as a Super lawyer and I feel this sells him short he is an amazing Lawyer, full of knowledge, very personable, and an all around great person. I can't thank him enough for all he did for me and my family.
