So I hopped on it and completed the online registration. Registration was straight forward and I appreciated the clear and frequent communication leading up to the appointment. On the day of, check-in was straightforward, the front staff was kind and professional, and the waiting area was new and shiny; all was looking up until my appointment. I met the Dr. who was nice, but I realized early on that this would be a touch and go appointment. I immediately sensed I was being hurried. My "new patient" experience felt very impersonal. I talked about my skin concerns, but the doctor didn't seem curious about any of them and asked little to no follow up questions-- only giving quick answers that left me with more questions. After I talked about my concerns, that was it. I'm not sure what the "Full Body Skin Check" was supposed to entail, but there was no additional "checking" of any kind, and I was so over the whirlwind appointment after a mere 10-15 mins that I didn't care to ask. I'm of northern European descent and played a lot of tennis throughout my life so I have a fairly high risk of melanoma, not something to screw around with. So I have an annual skin check appointment with GT D. Every couple of years they take a sample and test it. Other years it is just check, talk and done. I just discovered a patch that concerns me and called them. Immediate appointment and I know they will handle it well. I've got complete confidence. I do have insurance which makes a lot of difference. My final bill is very reasonable. But most importantly I know the care I'm getting is professional, thorough and delivered with personable attention.

Hair thinning / loss 2. Rash on my torso 1. (Hair Loss) I'll include the before and after photos of 1 year going to Gavino and you'll be shocked at the difference. I had been going to a couple of different dermatologists before, but felt I was always getting a surface level treatment. When finally finding Gavino, I was surprised at the level of treatment they provide. I was prescribed 2 oral medications and a shampoo. I told Dr. Gavino how I had been on finasteride, and topical minoxidil before but saw okay results. He informed me he preferred oral minoxidil instead of topical to prevent breakage in my already thinning hair (bonus because taking the oral medication is SO much easier) and later added a new medication to boost my hair treatment. It's been 1 year and my hair is INSANELY healthier now, and the loss has completely been stopped. I plan on doing PRP at their clinic to continue to boost my hairs health, and will update later this year. 2. Rash - Super simple but again, I was able to get a quick appointment, determined what it was, and prescribed a cream that knocked it out in literally 2 days. Their office is definitely a cut above, and I'll breakdown what I've seen so far. - Texting only facility, which it's 2026 and I think just about everyone is tired of getting spam calls so this is a breath of fresh air - Staff is awesome! They're great at their jobs, smooth, professional, and extremely efficient - Gavino is the best dermatologist I've worked with! The guy actually gets things done, and has exceeded my expectations to where I've recommended him to friends that live hours away. My appointment began with the nurse not knowing my history of melanoma -- something that should be clearly noted and prioritized after a decade of care. The doctor came in rushed, didn't take the time to answer even basic skincare questions, and instead referred me to their spa upstairs. On top of that, the prescription the doctor said would be sent to my pharmacy was never submitted. The frustration continued when I attempted to schedule my 6-month follow-up. I was told that the doctor I've been seeing for the last two years is "not taking new patients," and that I would need to switch providers within the practice -- despite being an established, long-term patient. It left me feeling dismissed and undervalued. Because of these issues, I've since found a new dermatologist and will no longer be a client of this practice. After so many years of loyalty, I expected better care, better communication, and better continuity. I hope they take this feedback seriously.

I wanted a follow-up conversation regarding the nitrogen treatment I received but NO ONE answers the phone so the recording suggests hitting a number and receiving a text message. I replied to the text and 48 hours still no response. I then called the office and left a message but again, it's been 48 hours and still no response. I just left a message on their website but still no response. Now I'm concerned about the poor reviews I'm seeing regarding overcharges and billing discrepancies. I DO NOT recommend the Georgetown, TX office and give in one star!
