I've been a patient at this dermatology practice for over 10 years, and unfortunately my most recent visit was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to speak up. My appointment began with the nurse not knowing my history of melanoma -- something that should be clearly noted and prioritized after a decade of care. The doctor came in rushed, didn't take the time to answer even basic skincare questions, and instead referred me to their spa upstairs. On top of that, the prescription the doctor said would be sent to my pharmacy was never submitted. The frustration continued when I attempted to schedule my 6-month follow-up. I was told that the doctor I've been seeing for the last two years is "not taking new patients," and that I would need to switch providers within the practice -- despite being an established, long-term patient. It left me feeling dismissed and undervalued. Because of these issues, I've since found a new dermatologist and will no longer be a client of this practice. After so many years of loyalty, I expected better care, better communication, and better continuity. I hope they take this feedback seriously. read more

Dr. Cabrera is the most caring, highly professional Dermatologist of the many I have known. Her assistant Kaitlin was in her "training phase" during my last visit but possesses qualities which can't be taught - empathy and genuine interest in her patients. My condition required several skin biopsies from my face Kaitlin took great care to explain the process to numb the biopsie sites and made the procedure essentially pain-free. I've been visiting this dermatologist office since June, after my previous dermatologist stopped accepting my insurance. The transition was smooth, and the staff here have been consistently friendly and professional. Due to one of their highly recommended doctors leaving, I've seen a few temporary physicians so far. While they've all been nice and competent, I'm still waiting to meet the permanent physician before I can form a full opinion of the practice. So far, no complaints. Well, at least Vitalogy is consistent in poor customer service. My appointment is on Monday, 10/7. I got a call on Wednesday, 10/2, for a referral from my PCP. Are you kidding me??? I've had this appointment with Vitalogy for months. I have a form of melanoma and need to see the doctor more frequently. They ask me for a referral five days before my appointment. This is an example of how disorganized they are. My PCP sent one because she's kind and her office is organized, unlike Vitalogy's. I really like Dr. Cabrera, but I won't see her again after next week because there is ALWAYS a problem with this practice. read more

After waiting six months for an appt. (I was a returning patient) I showed up to my appt. and was told the doctor was not in that week. When I inquired when they were going to call me to let me know, the "receptionist" said they had tried. I said "no - nothing on my phone". The receptionist was very rude and we got into a "discussion" about their "professionalism". (none). Now I will need to find another treatment place which will probably be a wait of six months. Waiting, waiting, and more waiting. Horrible customer service from the office staff. I called about a concerning growth I'd had for a few months and they made me wait five months to be seen. Turns out I have skin cancer. Now they want me to wait another two months to have it removed. I'll likely have had cancer for nearly a year before they treat me. I've reached out to my care team, no response. I've asked for a supervisor, no call back. Go somewhere else. They don't care about their patients. read more

I've been a patient at Vitalogy for over a year, because Dr. Cabrera was highly recommended by my sister in law and another friend. Last year, I was unable to see her because she was booked out so far, so my 18 year old daughter and I saw another provider. He was fine, but she and I both wanted to see a female doctor, so I waited a YEAR for my appointment with Dr. Cabrera. I have some areas of concern, so was looking forward to my visit this morning. Unfortunately, she walked in, told me I "have a lot of spots" and that I should see the doctor I saw last time. What?!?! Then she leaves me sitting in the exam room in a paper towel gown for 20 minutes, and her assistant came in to tell me Dr. Jones would be seeing me. Another 10 minutes go by, and one of the PA's or nurses came in to tell me that he had two patients ahead of me, so I'd be waiting a while. Mind you, this is a good 40 minutes after I was brought back to the exam room, and well past the time my exam was supposed to start. At this point, I was so frustrated, I just told her I'd be leaving, canceling my appointment, and to please relay to Dr. Cabrera that she lost two patients (myself and my daughter). I got dressed, and as I was getting to my car, the nurse came out and said that Dr. Cabrera would, in fact, see me, but I'd have to wait until she was done catching up. Wait, didn't she just refuse to see me? No, thank you. I would like Dr. Cabrera to read a book or five about bedside manners, because I left this office in tears (I am NOT a person who cries, especially in public), worried about the fact that I'm now going to be overdue for my annual skin check, and needing to find another provider who will respect my wishes and time. Other patients have said many good things about her, so I was shocked to find Dr. Cabrera so unprofessional and dismissive. Thankfully, I was able to secure an appointment with another practice in town that has good reviews and had a cancellation in early February. Do better, Vitalogy. Patients deserve respect. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Elizabeth Cabrera for over 10 years now. I think I have the toughest skin she has ever dealt with. As occasionally I get flair ups that require several medications, Dr. Cabrera always gets is right. Once she walks into the exam room, she can immediately look at my face and know the diagnosis. Dr. Cabrera not only is top tier at her specialty she is one of the kindest, gentle, caring souls in this cruel fast paced world. It is hard to find a Dr. who is personable these days, one who actually has empathy and care about their patient's well-being. Dr. Cabrera is one-of-a-kind. I am sticking with Dr. Cabrera until she decides to retire which I hope is Never! She is truly an exemplary person who makes Vitalogy who they are today. Totally unacceptable behavior of the staff and doctor. We waited 45min to be seen after being told to be 15 min early for the appointment. The doctor said her employees lunch break was more important than my time.....then took it back saying my time was important too. She spent 3 min total with us. First 2 min was promoting the spa upstairs and procedures she recommended that were "very expensive" and not covered by insurance. Then the last min rambling in tangents about the dangers, potential side effects of medications she recommended and how bad insurance was when getting medication approved. Then we were shipped out with really no plan. Zero concern or care. I will be appealing their office charges with insurance. What a joke! read more

I saw Dr Cabrera for a full body review on 12/20/23. Full body review included 3 biopsies. 2 cancers resulted. Basal cell carcinoma on back & melanoma on arm. Dr Cabrera referred me to UT Austin Clinic where I saw Dr Haynes. In my consultation with him on 1/10/24, he indicated that Dr Cabrera made a GOOD catch of the melanoma - small site of the cancer - .8 mm deep. Surgery for this will be scheduled shortly. Today (1/11/24), I again saw Dr Cabrera & she removed the basal cell on my back. Kudo's to Dr Cabrera & much thanks to both her and Carolina for taking such good care of me today & past visits!! The Georgetown office is an absolute S** show. Had no record of my appt (I had a confirmation text), then sent me a $50 no show fee a month later. They assured me it would be taken off, but I continue to receive bills. Rescheduled anyway to give them another chance, and a day before the appt, they moved my time WITHOUT TELLING ME, because the doctor "changed his schedule and is no longer seeing patients at that time". The front desk acted like it was completely normal. I showed up to the appt, and was then told it was cancelled due to the doctor being out that day- no one had left me a message ahead of time to inform me. Do not recommend at all, we will be changing offices. Guess I should have read the reviews before scheduling, since this seems to be a theme. read more

I went yesterday and the lady in the front is the worst. I wish I had read the reviews prior to going and seen this was not a new issues. I observed another employee get mad when an older gentleman didn't walk fast enough when his name was called and went back to the back area rolling her eyes and mumbling under her breath. The staff is not friendly and do not care if you have questions answers or not. I will not go back and from what I'm reading on here nothing will change or be done about their attitudes towards patients. I work in healthcare and this is a horrible environment to have to go to when you are worried about any type of cancer. I have been going to Vitalogy in Georgetown seeing Dr Cabrera for years. The past few years it's almost impossible to get through on their phone system. I've waited 10 to 15 minutes with not getting through. If you push Zero you leave a message and hope that someone will call you back. They have so many incompetent people that can't get the information right. I made an appt for 1 day and they made it for a different day even though I specifically said I couldn't do it that day. Of all things I have had a growth (wort) on the end of my nose! Dr. Jones froze it once with zero results, in fact I had to ask him the following day if there was any liquid nitrogen in the bottle. This growth continued to grow, so I went in again one month before I was due to leave the country for an extended length of time. This time Dr. Cabrera cut it off and took a biopsy. I checked the portal, no results and no call from Vitology. About a week prior to my departure I noticed it growing again, I left messages on my portal for them to call, no response! I called multiple times, desperate for a call back, as this unsightly thing was only going to get worse. Finally, a call back - the back office person said the following...... It was benign, you need a surgery, it's not covered by insurance, we only have time for skin cancer patients. I asked what it was? She said an ingrown hair follicle. That did not make sense to me, I asked if it was part of the wart family, she said kinda but you can go elsewhere for a second opinion. I couldn't believe it, I went out of the country for 6 weeks with this thing continually growing. Two days after I returned I went to a different dermatologist, he said it was a wort, he cut and burnt it off immediately. I have no idea what's going on with Vitology but I told them I would not be back. Forever, I have had a credit sitting on my account and now they tell me I owe them $550. For pain and suffering you should be paying me! I am just one of a long list of patients with similar issues with your business, non-call backs, and incompetent staff! It took less than half an hour for you to respond to this review with your generic response! A better business practice would be for you to request some time to discuss the issues at hand, and you call each and every patient to be more proactive. read more

I have been using the Georgetown location and seeing Dr. Cabrera for a few years now. I was scheduled to have a blue light therapy treatment done on a Friday in order to have this done. You need to make arrangements to be out of sunlight for several days. and also to take an antiviral medication a few days before as well. Having done all this I arrive at the office for my scheduled appointment, which I was told would take about four hours. The receptionist greeted me with the statement " Oh weren't you told that the appointment has been canceled"? I just looked at her wondering why she thought I would be there if I had been told the appointment was canceled. I told her that I wasn't and asked how they contacted me. She then told me the phone number which had the wrong area code. I asked her if she had my email address and she said yes she did, and then became annoyed and said there's nothing else she could do. She's just the front desk. I also couldn't reschedule it because I was told that they didn't know when the solution they needed was going to be available. The whole way this was handled was very upsetting to me. I contacted the office explained the situation and asked to speak with the office manager -I was told Dawn was in a meeting and would call me back. I called 2 more times and never got a return call. Things happen -I get that. However, In light of the prep work and the life style changes needed for this procedure, I think a little more effort on their part to reach me would have been appropriate. Obviously I won't go back - this is not against Dr Cabrera - I just hope she realizes that front and back office staff matter greatly to patients. read more

Retired Army, VA informed me to use secure messaging to schedule appointments while my phone is deactivated. I reach out to Elizabeth Cabrera and had arguably THE worst customer service. I did as i was told and explained to community care staff and asked if they would contact her. They forwarded my request to her and what i received back even based on VA staff was anything but helpful and professional. I have all messages ready for view and the VA director is informed and im sure would have concern for his vets getting this type of service. if i had a way to upload them here, believe me i would but so you have asnippet, i paraphrase, uh mr. railback you can call and make your own appointment. if you must use a friends phone then give us your friends number in case we must contact you. stay blessed. i cannot make this up. i tell her my phone is deactivated and she says call. I saw Dr. Carbera there last week for rapid hair loss. It took 3 minutes for a diagnosis and a prescription. I was told to Oder bloodwork through my PCP or it wouldn't be covered by insurance. Glad I did as I would still be waiting for the results. I had a clarification question regarding my need for a hair piece. I called Friday, Tuesday, Wednesday when I finally asked for a manager, I waited 29 minutes on hold for receptionist to return and answer a question that I didn't ask. Receptionist acted as though I was expecting too much. I asked if I needed to drive to Georgetown to get my question answered and the response was, you can if you want! I don't remember the last time I encountered a less professional business and make no mistake- it is a business over a caring, competent medical practice. Grateful I was not more involved with them prior to seeing what they are and aren't. read more

The treatment and follow up treatments provided by Dr Caberra and her assistant are the best we have ever received by any medical provider. We have absolute confidence in Dr Caberra's, evaluations, diagnosis, surgical skills and recommended treatments. She meticulously examines your entire body with a magnifying glass - finding what other dermotoligist we visited missed. Her medical experience allows her to quickly identify potential problem areas and biopsy to either confirm or eliminate a problem. Dr Caberra and her assistant make surgery painless (even large removals) with minimal or no scarring. Dr Caberra has performed 6 surgeries on me, and none have left a visable scar (face, neck, chest, back and side). ). I had one surgery by another dermatologist that left a significant scar. In short - when compared to VA, and other major hospital experiences - Dr Caberra and her staff are far superior to all of them. They have a professional, no nonsense, friendly approach to the patient instilling a lot of confidence in your care. As always, job well done. read more

7 minutes late and drove 30 minutes to come to my appointment and Dr. Caberra made me reschedule. The ladies at the front desk are also rude. I guess Vitalogy can make you wait 20 minutes, 30 minutes, and even 45 minutes which I have done but they do not show grace when you are 7 minutes late! I have been a patient for 7 years after today I have made the decision my family will not return. Just awful they treat patients like this. We will be going a new dermatologist that has a 5 star rating. Vitalogy it seems you have alot to work on based on all your offices and your low rating and poor reviews!!! read more

The docs are great, and so is the back office staff. The issue, and what will ensure I don't return is the front office staff! There is one lady in particular that clearly hates her job and life. She has zero emotion when she speaks and eye contact is minimal. Flat, flat, flat. Two specific things I can point out from just one visit. She completely ignores you and I watched an interaction when an elderly gentleman was checking in. This particular front office lady looked up him appointment and said "your appointment is tomorrow at 1" Clearly the man was a little confused but the girl simply repeated that his appointment was tomorrow at 1. No sympathy, no explanation, no nothing. And zero to little eye contact. The man was also clearly embarrassed. I was shocked and appalled at the interaction. Your front office lady had many opportunities to simply be a kind person and blew EVERY opportunity to do so. And her intention was to be cold. It was painfully obvious. I will not be returning even though I love the doctors. Your front office staff will ruin your business. We shall see! read more

PLEASE be sure to get any estimates in WRITING before you schedule your procedures. I was "quoted" $450 for 2 minor surgeries on my arm. I paid $475 upfront. Dr. Phillips at the Georgetown location literally had me on the table prepping the 2nd area before she informed me she would not be billing my insurance for this procedure due the the fact she "felt" it was cosmetic. I asked her to stop and ask how much it was going to be? The nurse came back and told me an additional $1097. When I refused this service Dr. Phillips charged me ANOTHER $187. calling the visit a "consultation fee"? 2 weeks later, I received ANOTHER bill for $399. In all I regretfully have paid $949.71. I take responsibility for my portion, but I felt Dr. Phillips acted unethically for doubling the price and charging for an additional "consultation". Won't be sending my family or friends here. read more

The absolute worst experience I've EVER had at a doctors office. I took my son in on Wednesday for his severe eczema that's been keeping him up at night. I waited over an hour to see the doctor. The appointment was rushed and they never ended up calling in any of his prescriptions. I called two days later to let them know the prescriptions still hadn't been called in and they told me that doctor never signed off on them and that they were pending. I called and spoke to someone 4 times with still no resolution. I was told the best they can do is have his prescriptions delivered on Monday through Texans. I asked if they could have HEB fill them instead so I can pick up today, and was told they would try and give me a call back. Coming up on the end of day and still no word. I have NEVER waited this long for a prescription to be filled. Writing this so no one else will waste their time and money on such a terrible establishment. read more

Practice manager is not doing her job. Front and back office is terrible. The phone system and recordings are frustrating and redundant. Can't use COVID as an excuse anymore. It's impossible to get through to anyone in triage at the Georgetown office. When transferred there no one picks up and you receive a recording that the mailbox is full. The patient portal is also "down". This is unacceptable. The providers are decent, but my time is also valuable and I would prefer to go elsewhere if I have to deal with multiple phone calls and problems trying to obtain information. read more

This location and group of doctors are a joke. I was warned by family and friends to not go here, but I did anyways against my better judgement. I have a lump needing to be removed, had my initial consult with Dr. Jones and scheduled a follow up for the actual procedure a couple months out. I take off work for the day, get a ride to the office and am sitting waiting for the doctor to come in for the procedure. Only to be told "oh the doctor isn't in today, you have to schedule with Dr. Hansen, she's the only for the excision." THEN WHY DID I GET SCHEDULED TO COME IN TODAY FOR THIS APPOINTMENT? The staff was rude, unhelpful and sarcastic. I prepaid for the appointment and apparently inconvenienced the staff when I asked for a refund. Terrible bedside manners, incompetent employees. Very disappointed with my experience. I have a condition which requires cryo and I was charged for each tiny puff of nitrous oxide. Prior experience I was charged per site with generous treatment application. Almost $600 for very little treatment and a biopsy done in a place I wasn't referring to. No mirror in to room to point out concerns accurately. read more

I was diagnosed with lichen planus and sent the lab report from the oral surgeon a week prior to my appointment. In addition, I asked twice on the phone if they treat this condition in the mouth (where I have it the worst). Each time I was told that that do. On one occasion I was on the line with my health carrier and they told us both they treated the mouth. It was clear from the beginning that no one had any idea what I was there for, nor had they bothered to review the report I sent them. One of the first things Dr. Cabrera said was, " we do not treat the mouth" She wasn't terribly apologetic about the misunderstanding their office caused. She seemed overworked, and frazzled. Very disappointed, and I will be leaving this clinic as soon as I can find a suitable replacement! read more

An HOUR after my appointment time I was seen by the doctor. I told the front desk why even have appointments if they weren't going to adhere to it. I had Mohs surgery, all went well but the doctor and her assistant were evidently fussing and I got the brunt of it.
