I am gluten intolerant and purchased Wegmans Blueberry muffins today. This is a warning to anybody gluten free. They are TERRIBLE with an overwhelming chemical taste. I am unable to get taste out of my mouth even after brushing and mouthwash. I will be returning them tomorrow. read more

My newest go to Wegmans since it's so close to my job. Parking lot needs some love, could just be a normal ROC winter but the pot holes and busted up spots are a mess. The store itself is smaller than what I'm used to but it still has everything I need and want! Great grab n go prepared foods and made to order sub area. Go before noon, line gets crazy. Nice beer selection, really like their set up here showing different local beers. Self check out is my go to... they should add a few more for their busy times. read more

Meh- for such a big store front I find this location to have cramped isles. I've not been enjoying my recent trips to this location. The store front really is deceiving as it's hard to fit 2 carts down the dry/canned food isles. At least the produce area is much more spacious. You know what, this location reminds me of the original wegmans location in Henrietta before they built that fancy new calkins rd location. I think the Latta Rd Wegmans comes so highly rated because, as an older late-80s/early-90s vintage store, it still has the perfect mix of not-too-big but not-too-small; comfortable, cozy, warm feeling; shorter drop-ceilings vs tall open warehouse feel. Newer and bigger Wegmans are not always better. I love Latta Rd and Ridgemont but Mt. Read drives me nuts. Nor does older and smaller mean poorer selection or quality. We can find everything we need, logically laid out, with the highest quality of service one expects from Wegmans. I think Wegmans really found a sweet spot with this location. I just fear that wide open field to the South isn't a future replacement site. If so, just build a modern, slightly larger version of what exists now. We don't need a Mega-Wegmans like Mt Read. Leave well-enough alone with a nice spit-shine upgrade. read more

Items are continually being moved around so that I never know where anything is. Today, I was at the store longer than I wanted to be because it took me awhile to find the new location of a product. Then I waited for over 5 minutes at the service desk - only customer there - while a few feet down, one employee talked on the phone [seemed like a personal call, although I don't know that for sure] and another did paperwork. Other staff members walked back and forth into the office behind the counter with everyone avoiding eye contact with me. Finally, I left. I'm willing to pay higher prices at Wegman's for excellent service and ease of shopping, but today, I didn't get that. I dunno, maybe it's time to remind the staff not to ignore customers? read more

As an out-of-towner now, I miss Wegmans and all of the great things it has to offer. When you walk in, you can't help but be excited by the prospect of grocery shopping. There are so many possibilities of finding cool ingredients, or meal ideas, on every aisle. For those who shy away from cooking, their prepared food sections offer great values and tasty offerings. No, it isn't the same as being in a restaurant but it is more like an elevated food court. My main attraction used to be the bulk section, but sadly this store's area is very small. I can't say if it is due to covid or not (this wasn't my primary Wegmans and I rarely was in this one), but things like Voortman cookies and their dozen or so types of gummy animals were gone. As an FYI, their new gummy worms and such come prepackaged and are absolutely vile! They are not made by Haribo anymore, and I literally threw an entire package of gummy worms (my favorite candy) away after eating only 2-3. But, that is a minor blot on an otherwise great store. I think the best thing about Wegmans is their consistency. You can walk into any of their stores and feel loved, know you are going to find quality products at reasonable prices, and enjoy the shopping experience. its grocery store.. what more can I say? employees are friendly, they go out of there way showing where the items are. I should say, give big 5 star for the employees. They must be being treated right.. not like Kroger stores I know of. store layout is weird. they have specialty cheese to the one end and if I want regular cheese, I have to walk half way to the other side. Cheese is cheese but they want to make the big distinction with specialty items. right hand back corner also had gluten free stuff. if you spend enough time, I am sure things will come around and understand the layout of this store and concept behind it but for a 1st timer (at least 4x visit), its not user friendly store. I was looking for spices and non of the store directory indicated where it was hiding. I did find it after going back and forth few times. some of the bulk items were priced very competitively to bulk retailers like Costco and also.. store is filled with their own generic brand. *** employee makes the big difference to this location read more

A complete grocery store with friendly helpful employees.

First of all, I am a huge fan of this grocery chain.  I have never been able to come up with one solid complaint over the many years I've been a shopper. Unfortunately, during this alarming pandemic, I've been extremely and sadly disappointed.   As a senior citizen, I've limited my going out to grocery shopping ONLY and I've been very astute about wearing proper PPE.   Imagine my dismay when my husband and I walked into Wegman's, Latta Rd. first set of doors, found a cart, wiped it down with our own sanitizing wipes, walked over to the hand sanitizer dispenser which was located at the next set of doors (just before entering the store), and found that the hand sanitizer dispenser was empty, or broken, I'm not sure which. I was told it had been out of service for "about two weeks". Sadly, that was only the beginning of my, already worrisome, shopping experience. Once inside, the only social distancing was at the cash registers on our way out.  While shopping, I was alarmed that many shoppers were walking around without masks OR gloves and certainly were NOT practicing social distancing.  I understand it is difficult to find masks but I believe more people would use makeshift masks and practice social distancing if it were made mandatory. On top of that, employees that were restocking shelves, were not even wearing gloves much less a mask! This seems inexcusable to me as other local stores are outfitting their employees to practice this important precaution. At the checkout, we had 12 bottles of sparkling water in the cart which an employee told us would be the same price as a case.  However, the cashier had to make sure of that with a manager.  It took almost 10 minutes to find one!!!  The poor (mask-less) cashier kept apologizing and was so embarrassed that I kept reassuring him that it was ok.....it certainly wasn't his fault. (poor thing) Since our aim was to spend as little time in the grocery store as possible and our time there was prolonged waiting on a manager, it was very concerning. Anyway, bottom line......I always believed that Wegmans cared about their employees AND their customers....BUT....this has left me questioning their priorities. At least at their Latta Rd. store.  Whether I shop there again during this ordeal is questionable as the safety of my family is of utmost importance. I will tell you this, however, we definitely WILL shop at the store that greeted us at their door, wiped down a cart before they even let us touch it. Also, throughout our shopping for the things we needed, we were thoroughly impressed as we watched their employees walking around with gloves on, wiping down products, shelves, etc. with sanitizer!   We felt safe and cared about ..... and that's as it should be.  We will definitely be going there again. As an innovator and respected name in our community, Wegman's has tarnished their reputation in our eyes. Please take these words into consideration as coming from concerned and "at risk" citizens. read more

I am from California and my boyfriend from Rochester. He would always be telling me of the many virtues of Wegmans. At first I did not understand, like ok I get it, it is a nice grocery store. We have many of those here in the Bay Area. What is with this love affair with Wegmans!? After my first visit to Rochester, I am now also obsessed with Wegmans. This place is the tits!! It is YUUUUUUUGGGGEEEEE (In Billy Fucillo voice), it is clean, and is stocked with affordable, fresh produce, meats, fish, everything under the sun. They also have great Wegmans products, the granola bars were delicious. Wegmans is incredibly staffed, no lines, free samples and open 24 hours. What impressed me most was the bountiful selection of craft beer from all over the country and world, AND IT DOES NOT STOP THERE!! You can craft your own 6 pick for $10.99!!! I was in heaven. They also had a great selection of Rochester souvenirs! I love a good grocery store and Wegmans nails it. read more

Didn't go to 1 star because Wegman's really is phenomenal, however this new company they've partnered with for delivery, "Instacart", is absolutely trash. Their pricing is deceptive (Charging a $14.99/month or $149/year membership fee, only to also charge you a 10% fee ON TOP OF the already-inflated grocery prices, plus a tip for the driver. All in all, my order that would have been around $180 was going to cost around $240). I still decided to go for it because it was late at night and I wanted to cook in the morning. I spent about an hour or so curating my cart.. Realistically, I probably could have gone to Wegman's and bought everything in that time, but I wanted to try out this new convenience. Fast forward to the morning.. I start receiving notifications that my items are being refunded or replaced.. The two big things were when they replaced chicken thighs with chicken breasts, and said that oregano was sold out. I 100% don't believe for a second that Wegman's was out of chicken thighs or oregano, and breast is clearly not a proper substitution for thighs.. And I needed both, which put me in a bad situation. I spent the time putting together this list, and paid extra to get these items delivered to my house, and now it looked like I was still going to have to go to the grocery store! Ridiculous. I called up customer service, and after nearly 20 minutes, I finally got them to cancel the order, and they charged me $15! I told them immediately to cancel my account entirely. I then started looking at reviews for instacart, and Wegman's should be ashamed to have partnered with them. read more

Stopped into Wegman's to grab sandwiches before heading out to a Bills game. There were some new things in here that I don't ever seeing before. They had a coffee bar and separate pizza preparation area for carry out. The line for coffee was pretty long so I'd take it that their coffee is pretty good. I would have liked a cup of coffee but we were in a bit of a rush. There was no line at the sub counter probably since it was 10:30am. The girl that made our sub was friendly and quick. I will most definitely be back whether it's for their prepared foods or groceries. As odd as this might sound, I love visiting Wegmans when we come to Rochester. read more

It is better than Trader Joe's or Whole Foods could ever imagine being. Wegmans has everything--quite literally, everything. You go in and you'd never want to leave. You could actually live there--it has everything you'd need. No joke. At competitive prices with high quality. Pharmacy, fresh sushi, deli, pizza & sub take-out, rotisserie, chinese-sit in or take-out, regular grocery goods, kitchenwares, patio sets, grills, flowers, plants, school supplies, greeting cards, books, magazines, film/digital image processing center, a 'natural' food section, butcher, pet food, old world cheese section, fresh seafood, fresh bakery, dvd rental, and so on and so on. You name it, they have it, and it is an attractive store, too. Not warehouse-like at all. Literally one-stop shopping. Everyone is really friendly, everything is really clean, and I misss it so so much. It comes second only to my family. read more

Wegmans.......WEGMANS!! Saying that name around here you will guarantee a reaction from anyone, mostly positive. I am happy to say I am one of those people. This is the king of supermarkets as it not only carries their own fresh baked goods and delicious produce, but also frozen foods and boxed necessities. However, a lot of the boxed goods are "Wegmans" brand (generic) but the quality of these items can vary depending on the product like the milk and the cereals. If that food is not to your pleasing, just buy the regular popular brand-name products...they carry those too. In addition, they have a fabulous cuisine bar with self-serve food that is usually far eastern or European, as well as a sub and cheese market area. I have sampled all of these and each one had its own amazing taste...expect for the olives but I despise those anyway. The only sacrifice here is that some prices can be a tad expensive but compared to other stores, you are paying for the quality, not the quantity. I highly recommend any outsider to visit Wegmans and see how the people of Rochester shop! read more

I have lived in all sorts of places in the USA, including Ithaca. Wegman's has some of the best food, for a reasonable price. This is a review of merely the deli, because that's where I ate during my visit to Rochester. I easily found the deli. I waited only a few seconds before getting attention. The guy was very helpful in making decisions and pleasant. The food quality was very high, and it was easily to eat something interest as well as good and healthy with all that was available. Probably better food than many restaurants at a better price! People in Rochester are lucky to have this store. It's not so good for vegetarians in other areas of the country. read more

Wegmans is one of my favorite things about Rochester. I moved here from Texas and had never heard of Wegmans. I was blown away my first time shopping here. Wegmans is better and more affordable than Trader Joes or Whole Foods. They have a great variety of items from meats to cheeses to international foods...even my favorite items from Texas! The price is a little higher than other local grocery stores or Walmart on some items, but cheaper on others. I've started clipping coupons lately and learning how to use them. Wegmans is the best grocery store I've seen. Well, apparently I'm not alone since it was rated #1. This location has been the closest to my residence, and it's the one I most frequent. Ah, you people don't know how lucky you are. If you live in Rochester, you don't know how lucky you are to have Wegmans. And if you don't, then you don't know what you are missing and can remain blissfully ignorant. *sigh* I desperately miss this store and it is one of the first places I visit when I return home. Often, I go there before I go to my Parents' house! I used to work at this location and I love to see what has changed and what has stayed the same (that goes for staff as well as the store!). They have just about everything you need here (although, a wine shop would be most welcome once NYS law gets changed)... and if they don't have it, just ask because they if they can get their hands on it, they will. The prices are comparable to other stores in other parts of the world but the level of service here is what sets this store apart. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Don't be mad just yet rochester folks, I'm a California girl, who lived less than half a mile away from both Trader Joe's and Whole Foods for the past decade so hear me out. When I first moved here everyone kept asking if I'd been to wegmans yet, and I thought, what is wegmans like a cool club or hangout. Nope its a grocery store, but a very cool locally started grocery store. So imagine if your hometown was the first place to have tj's or whole food's, you'd be pretty psyched too. Convenient side parking lot off the entrance near Tim Hortons. This is the closet Wegmans to me and my wife. We both love it. Clean bathrooms near the cafe area. The cafe area is great for late night studies with open high tables and larger tables for space. Spring means it's time to use the patio outside the cafe too. Also, there is no other businesses in this parking lot so you are only dealing with Wegmans parking. It's also not terribly busy like other Wegmans. I love this place! read more

My local Wegmans is the only place I would go to fill my cupboards and even if I only want snacks or a single meal, Wegmans has it all! Buffets, subs, and pre-made items from saucy pasta to mac salad, going grocery shopping hungry is far from your worries at Wegmans. If you are lucky enough to live close to a Wegmans, go more often! As supermarkets go, Wegmans is very good . . .usually. Today, though, I took back the empty cans of two cans of beans that we were not happy with. They were Wegmans brand, and on the labels it says if you do not "love" them, you'll be given your money back. The customer service representative at the Latta Rd (Greece, NY) Wegmans refused to make the refund. Yes, we had the receipt. We objected to the huge amount of liquid in the product. We were told, after they phoned the head customer affairs office (!) that it was not a valid reason, as beans are weighed water and all. That may be the case, but nearly an inch of liquid before you got down to the beans, and 8.5 ounces of beans in a 15.5 oz net weight can,will not get a thumbs up from me. But this is not about the beans: it is about Wegmans dishonoring Wegman's written guarantee. read more
