Nice little Wegmans store in Newark, away from the larger population centers. This store has everything you need and a lot more. The typical Wegmans selection and service in a smaller footprint. I almost missed the entire plaza driving from Newark toward Rochester because there is not signage pointing to the store. A little weird, but that is some they could remedy, and of course, the locals don't need it. read more

I always come here as it seems pretty chill and friendly. Today an employee was super rude to me so I won't be back. Im writing this because she was borderline physical and I want to warn others. She was blocking the exit with a cart and I was waiting behind her as others were. She moved out of the way and said excuse me. It wasn't a big deal and I didn't think anyone was upset, including me. I proceeded through and looking down while not saying anything and I smiled. She seemed to be in a conversation with a woman. I then heard a loud slam/bang as she said something derogatory and was banging something in her cart. I turned around and asked if there was a problem as I didn't understand what was going on but could tell she was aiming this at me. She said "yeah your attitude." I said "I smiled at you." She said "no you didn't" with so much vitriol behind it. And I think she was surprised I spoke to her so she sort of scurried away. I stood there and looked around in disbelief as truly I had smiled at her. Many employees were around and said nothing, just looked away or ignored me. I guess she didn't see it and she just didn't like the look of me? As a woman I must smile continuously? I had the sense she was really aggressive and looking to take out her problems on any woman customer she could. I doubt she would have felt that emboldened talking to a male customer that way. I have worked in food service and customer service and I understand it can be annoying or tiring but aiming it at regular people who don't deserve it isn't professional or kind. Anyway, she was a white middle aged woman with I think glasses, bangs, blond ish hair. Be careful folks and stay away from this Wegmans. I need to rethink Wegmans in general after this. read more

I love this Wegmans because it has the friendliest and most dedicated employees of any grocery store in the area. The store is also super easy to navigate and never crowded like some of the other Wegmans. They have the great quality I have grown to love and expect from Wegmans everywhere. During the last year and a half COVID procedures have been excellent and created a very safe shopping environment. read more

I go to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for work occasionally and have stopped here for breakfast, lunch or just a chai or matcha latte. It's conveniently located and the staff are nice, as per Wegmans standards. Their breakfast sandwiches in particular are pretty great, and I feel better about both purchasing them and eating them than similar choices from McDonald's or Tim Horton's or some of the other offerings in the area. If you do get a breakfast sandwich it might not be 100% obvious where to go in this store, but I quickly found my way. Go to the same register as their coffee shop (near the other prepared foods) and the sandwiches are available there. I think they also have the best hot drinks selection in the area. It's cool to see the same Wegmans values applied across their stores, even in smaller towns like this. Great staff, good food, good prices. Parking has always been easy, as well. =) read more

Service was bad and I received a meatball sub without sauce.... I will never buy another sub there again

I was in the Newark, NY Wegmans 3 weeks ago and there were 7 people not wearing a mask. When I asked about it the gentleman (presumed to be a manager) also expressed his displeasure that Wegmans DOES NOT follow the state mask mandate. I can home totally disgusted with Wegmans and sent them an email regarding my experience. They did no even have the courtesy to acknowledge it. Today was the first time I went back to that Wegmans, same thing happened. I first talk to two women that were right there that saw the woman without a mask. she chuckled about it. I proceeded to tell her that Wayne County has the highest Covid rate in the state now and I didn't find it at all funny. Next I talked to a manager, who apoligized for what was going on but she said they can't enforce "a State mandate" without direction from corporate. This time I won't let it drop! Wegmans brag how well they treat their workers etc. etc. but they won't follow a state mandate. All they care about it the almighty dollar. Shame on Wegmans!!!! read more
